Tiny Genius Alert! Mom & Dad Better Make Peace-Chapter 485 - 452: Jun You’ve Grown Cold: He Is My Son 2
Jin Jumo’s frown deepened, staring at Rong Mochen for a while, suddenly seemed to understand something, her eyes flickered slightly, took a breath, and looked at Jian Liangtong, "I’m heading back, will you be okay alone?"
"Mm." Jian Liangtong nodded.
"...Call me if anything happens." Jin Jumo advised, still worried.
A slight curve formed at the corner of Jian Liangtong’s mouth, "Okay."
Jin Jumo frowned, reaching out to touch her pale, cool face, "Then I’m off."
Jian Liangtong slightly closed her eyes, rubbing her face against her soft palm, "Mm."
Looking at Jian Liangtong like this, Jin Jumo’s mood grew heavier.
After Jin Jumo and Rong Mochen left the ward, Jian Liangtong pulled out the IV needle from the back of her hand, lifted the quilt, got out of bed, and took the clothes from the bedside table to the bathroom.
After changing and coming out of the bathroom, Jian Liangtong didn’t glance back at the ward, instead walking straight out.
Jian Ningfeng was also recuperating at Linx Hospital, staying in a general ward.
The Linx Hospital’s general and VIP wards were in separate hospital buildings; it took about five minutes to walk from the VIP to the general ward.
Upon arriving at the general ward where Jian Ningfeng was, He Xinyun was sitting by the bed, massaging one of Jian Ningfeng’s legs on her lap.
As she massaged, He Xinyun was chattering away at Jian Ningfeng, who just looked at He Xinyun with a smile, occasionally responding with a word or two.
This scene brought four words to Jian Liangtong’s mind: deep couples’ affection.
Jian Ningfeng was the first to notice Jian Liangtong and smiled at her, "Daughter’s here."
Upon hearing this, He Xinyun immediately looked up at the door, her gaze landing on Jian Liangtong’s pallid face, her heart sinking abruptly.
He Xinyun quickly removed Jian Ningfeng’s leg from her lap, stood up, and walked to Jian Liangtong, first scrutinizing her from head to toe, then tightly staring at Jian Liangtong’s face with a tense expression, "What happened?"
Now Jian Ningfeng also noticed something was wrong with Jian Liangtong’s complexion, looking at her with concern.
Jian Liangtong glanced at He Xinyun and Jian Ningfeng, lightly clenched her hand hanging by her side, and curled her lips, "What happened? Nothing happened!"
"If nothing happened, why is your face so pale?" He Xinyun "rudely" pulled Jian Liangtong over, raised a hand to feel her forehead, frowning at her, "Your forehead’s so hot, have you caught a fever?"
"It’s nothing, mom." Jian Liangtong pulled down He Xinyun’s hand, "I..."
"Your hand’s as cold as ice, yet you say it’s nothing?" He Xinyun took a sharp breath when she felt Jian Liangtong’s ice-cold fingers.
Jian Liangtong’s lips quivered slightly, looking at He Xinyun’s extremely anxious face, "Mom, don’t worry, I’ll buy some medicine later and I’ll be fine after taking it."
"No way, with such a high fever, medicine surely won’t work, come on, I’ll take you to see a doctor." He Xinyun said, heartache in her voice, pulling Jian Liangtong, intending to find a doctor.
Jian Liangtong’s eyes flickered, she reversed her hand and held He Xinyun’s, pulling her back.
He Xinyun turned back angrily, glaring at her, "What’s wrong with you? You have such a fever and refuse to see a doctor, do you want us to worry on purpose?"
"Mom, I know my own body, taking some medicine is enough, it’s nothing."
"..." He Xinyun stared at her stubborn face, helpless yet anxious, "Tongtong, why do you always disregard your own health? If something happens to you, how could we two old folks bear it?"
"Mom." Jian Liangtong looked at the sorrow and heartbreak in He Xinyun’s eyes, feeling as if a whip as thick as an arm was fiercely lashing at her heart.
He Xinyun’s other hand grasped onto Jian Liangtong’s, looking at her imploringly, "Tongtong, since you were little, you loved to go against mom, such a stubborn temper. You always said mom wasn’t as gentle as others’ moms, treated you badly, either scolding or punishing you, blaming mom for not caring enough about you..."
"Mom, I was immature back then, I was wrong." Jian Liangtong, sniffling, said in a hoarse voice.
He Xinyun tightly held Jian Liangtong’s hand, "Actually, you weigh more than anyone else in mom’s heart. You cannot get into trouble, if something happens to you, your dad and I, we’d crumble, right?"
"Mom." Jian Liangtong hugged He Xinyun, burying her face into her hair, "I’ll listen to you, I’ll see a doctor, but I can go alone, you stay here with dad, okay?"
He Xinyun paused, "Alone?"
"Mm." Jian Liangtong slightly released He Xinyun, looking at her.
"Are you sure?" He Xinyun frowned.
Jian Liangtong raised her hand, wiping away the tears in He Xinyun’s eyes, her gaze sweeping over the few silver hairs in her temple, a twinge striking her heart, she spoke with a hoarse voice, "I’m twenty-six, not a child, I can handle it."
He Xinyun hesitated, glancing over at Jian Ningfeng.
Jian Ningfeng pursed his lips, "Tongtong, just let your mom go with you, she’s worried about you alone."
"Oh, I’m really fine going on my own." Jian Liangtong said as she withdrew her hand, grasping He Xinyun’s shoulder, pushing her toward Jian Ningfeng.
After seating He Xinyun on the bed edge, Jian Liangtong gave a quick peck on Jian Ningfeng and He Xinyun’s faces, turned and walked to the door, "I’m going."
Jian Liangtong had just stepped out the door when she suddenly leaned against the side wall, her back against it, her eyes open wide as red liquid swirled in her eyes like a whirlpool.
She clenched her lips tightly, her face turning crimson from holding it in, veins protruding on her forehead, yet she still couldn’t stop the tears from slipping out of the corners of her eyes.
Inside the ward, Jian Ningfeng and He Xinyun both looked dazed, glancing at each other, before finally touching the places where Jian Liangtong had pecked them.
"Wife, how many years has it been since our daughter last kissed us?" Jian Ningfeng spoke, both shocked and excited, his voice trembling.
He Xinyun also gasped, looking at Jian Ningfeng, "Do you think she’s feverish and muddled?"
Jian Ningfeng, "..." How could she say that about her own daughter?
Worried that He Xinyun might suddenly come out of the ward and see her, Jian Liangtong didn’t stay long and left.
Jian Liangtong returned from the general ward to the VIP room. After changing into a hospital gown in the bathroom and coming out, Huo Shaojun pushed the door of the ward and came in. Seeing Jian Liangtong holding clothes, a slight surprise flashed in his cold eyes, and he looked at her with pursed lips.
Jian Liangtong’s gaze lingered on him for only half a second before moving away, and she said while walking towards the bed, "I just went to see my dad."
Huo Shaojun paused, closed the door, and walked over, "Have something to eat."
Jian Liangtong’s eyes narrowed slightly as she looked at him again, only then noticing the bag in his hand printed with the words "Vegetarian Restaurant".
Retracting her gaze, Jian Liangtong sat on the bed, "Just as well, I’m a bit hungry."
Huo Shaojun gave her a glance, placed the foldable small dining table from the ward on the bed, and took out the food from the bag one by one, placing it on the table. He sat on the edge of the bed, picked up the plain porridge, stirred it a few times with the spoon, then scooped a spoonful and held it to Jian Liangtong’s lips.
Jian Liangtong did not open her lips, just quietly looked at him.
Huo Shaojun also looked at her, maintaining the gesture of feeding the porridge, without backing down.
Jian Liangtong seemed to sigh lightly, then opened her lips.
Huo Shaojun fed Jian Liangtong mouthfuls of dishes and porridge.
Jian Liangtong accepted them all, eating them one by one.
After eating about a quarter, Jian Liangtong furrowed her brows and reached out to push away the porridge spooned toward her again, "I’m full."
"Eat a bit more," Huo Shaojun looked at the porridge that hadn’t decreased much and said, pursing his lips.
Jian Liangtong still shook her head, "I can’t eat anymore."
Huo Shaojun’s extended hand paused, and a few seconds later, he withdrew it.
Then he began silently cleaning up the leftovers and the dining table.
Jian Liangtong leaned against the head of the bed, watching him very quietly. She was very still, and her gaze on Huo Shaojun’s eyes was equally calm without a ripple.
After Huo Shaojun finished tidying up, he called a nurse to put the IV back on Jian Liangtong.
After the nurse left, he sat at the bedside again, gazing deeply into Jian Liangtong’s eyes.
Jian Liangtong still looked at him, and it wasn’t merely looking but studying, observing.
Huo Shaojun’s hand on the edge of the bed clenched tightly, his firm throat moving up and down, "Last night..."
"What happened last night?"
As Huo Shaojun was about to speak, Jian Liangtong broke in.
Huo Shaojun’s thin lips suddenly pressed tightly together, looking deeply at Jian Liangtong.
Jian Liangtong clearly saw the strain flashing in Huo Shaojun’s eyes, her almond-shaped eyes bent slightly, "I mean, what happened between you and your son in the study?"
Huo Shaojun’s face darkened, "What do you think happened?"
"If I knew what happened, I wouldn’t be asking you," Jian Liangtong murmured.
"Nothing at all," Huo Shaojun said.
Jian Liangtong’s long lashes trembled noticeably, and she slowly curved her lips, her almond eyes bright and clear as she looked at him, "I’m tired."
Huo Shaojun stood up, gently holding her shoulder and slowly laying her flat on the bed.
As soon as Jian Liangtong lay down, she closed her eyes, no longer looking at Huo Shaojun, her demeanor cold as if dealing with a stranger.
Huo Shaojun maintained his posture of holding her shoulder, lowering his gaze to deeply scrutinize her for a long time.
In another VIP ward on a different floor from Jian Liangtong’s.
"I don’t want to stay in the hospital; I want to go home!" The weak but angry little voice had been going on for an hour.
Almost everything throwable in the ward had been smashed to pieces.
Nanny Xu stood blocking the door, her expression anxious, but she didn’t dare take a step away, fearing that if she attended to one end, she might lose control over the other, letting the little one find a chance to run out.
"Hao Hao, you’re still sick now. When you get better, Grandma Xu will take you home, okay?"
"I don’t want to stay here; I want to go home! I want to find her!" Huo Tinghao pounded the bed angrily with his small fists, his pale sickly face imprinted with urgency.
Nanny Xu had never seen this side of Huo Tinghao before.
In her eyes, Huo Tinghao was a well-behaved, sensible, considerate child.
Unlike now: irritable, ferocious, unreasonably making a scene!
It’s as if he’s become a completely different person!
Nanny Xu was so anxious she was about to cry, "Hao Hao, child, just listen to Grandma Xu for once."
"I want to find Grandma and Grandpa; I want to find them!"
"Dad is a liar, a big liar!"
"He told me that Grandma and Grandpa don’t want me anymore, she doesn’t want me anymore, that’s why they don’t come to see me, that’s why they don’t come to see me..."
