Chapter 386: Chapter 367: Proof That It Really Happened

Jin Jumo refused to drink anymore, so Rong Mochen used both soft and hard tactics to make her drink it.

Just as the two were at a stalemate, Rong Mochen’s phone suddenly rang.

Rong Mochen glanced at the phone, furrowed his brow, scooped up Jin Jumo with his long arm as she attempted to escape, held her on his lap, and reached out to hang up the call.

Jin Jumo’s eyes swept over the phone on his desk, noticing the words "Ms. Fang" flash on the screen before it returned to the main screen.

Lightly pressing her lips together, Jin Jumo turned her head to look at the person who was holding her waist so assertively.

Rong Mochen’s expression remained unchanged. He picked up the bowl of soup with one hand and brought it to Jin Jumo’s lips, his voice gentle, "Have a bit more."

Jin Jumo averted her eyes from the bowl, asking softly, "Why didn’t you answer the call?"

Rong Mochen glanced at her, his tone indifferent, "I can’t find a reason to take her call."

Jin Jumo looked at him, "She is your mother, after all, and you are her son."

"Let’s not talk about her, drink the soup." Rong Mochen’s voice was slightly cold as he pushed the bowl towards her lips once more.

Jin Jumo’s eyes flashed, catching the nutritious soup near her lips, her eyebrows furrowing instantly. "I’ve already had two bowls, I really don’t want any more, spare me, won’t you?"

Rong Mochen stared at her sternly.

"Uh..." Jin Jumo’s heart skipped, and her face scrunched up like a bun. "Can I just drink half?"

Rong Mochen lowered his lashes. "Okay."

Jin Jumo took a deep breath, opened her lips, and drank half the bowl in one go.

She thought breakfast would be over.

But unexpectedly, he drank the remaining half of the soup and then sealed her lips, transferring it to her mouth bit by bit.

Jin Jumo swallowed awkwardly.

Soup overflowed from both sides of her mouth.

After finishing, Jin Jumo covered her mouth in embarrassment and anger, glaring at Rong Mochen with resentment for his broken promise.

Rong Mochen didn’t even glance at her, placed her off his lap, and got up to walk out of the dining room himself.

Jin Jumo incredulously stared at his leaving figure, not turning back, her anger leaving her speechless.

On the road to the medical institution, Jin Jumo sat gloomily in the passenger seat, her face turned to the window, stubbornly refusing to glance at him.

From the rearview mirror, Rong Mochen looked at Jin Jumo’s stubborn and sulky profile, sighed softly in his heart, and reached out to hold Jin Jumo’s hand resting on her knee.

Jin Jumo turned and glared at him, "What are you doing?"

Rong Mochen stared at her childish face, the dark eyes showing a hint of amusement, waved their clasped hands in front of her, "What am I doing, can’t you see?"

Jin Jumo pressed her lips tight, trying in anger to pull her hand free, but after several attempts, she only found it held tighter.

Her face reddened with frustration, her eyes bright with anger as she glared at Rong Mochen.

Rong Mochen smirked, "Are all women as petty as you?"

Jin Jumo’s lip twitched twice, her frustration rising to a new height because of his words, snorting, "Are all men as untrustworthy as you?"

Watching Jin Jumo’s annoyed frown, Rong Mochen’s mellow laughter slowly rose from his throat, "Such a little woman!"

Jin Jumo glared at him.

Rong Mochen raised an eyebrow, softening his voice, "Alright, I was wrong this morning, won’t you accept my apology?"

With just this sentence, Jin Jumo felt her heart soften.

Feeling a bit angry at herself for being weak, she pressed her pink lips and turned her head back to the car window, mumbling, "Just because you apologize doesn’t mean I have to forgive you!"

Rong Mochen lifted his lips in a grin, deeply looking at Jin Jumo for a few seconds before releasing her hand and instead gently ruffling her hair, "You’ve been eating less and vomiting more, you’ve visibly lost weight, I have to find a way to make you eat more, don’t I?"

Jin Jumo’s long lashes fluttered as she turned to look at him.

"Don’t be angry," Rong Mochen softly pinched Jin Jumo’s cheek, his voice as tender as a feather brushing her heart.

Jin Jumo frowned, reaching out to grip his hand, "I know you’re doing it for my own good, it’s not that I need you to coax me to eat, but I really can’t swallow it."

"Hmm." Rong Mochen’s dark eyes revealed a trace of heartache, "Later, when we get to the medical institution, I’ll have Mr. Ning think of a way to alleviate the pregnancy symptoms."

Jin Jumo nodded.

Seeing her so compliant, Rong Mochen couldn’t help but pinch her cheek again.

Jin Jumo puffed her face at him, "My face isn’t a ball!"

"Heh." Rong Mochen laughed, his gentle and cheerful face striking Jin Jumo’s heart.

In an instant, all the morning’s unpleasantness was soothed by his smile.

Jin Jumo inwardly sighed at her own lack of resolve!

days into pregnancy, exactly two months and twenty-one days.

Ning Wenqing personally performed the ultrasound and check-up. The baby is very healthy, developing well, with stable fetal signs. Attending regular check-ups and exercising appropriately is sufficient.

As for Jin Jumo’s strong pregnancy reactions, Ning Wenqing suggested focusing on diet and mindset, maintaining a good mood might alleviate the symptoms somewhat.

Holding the ultrasound image, just exiting the medical facility, Rong Mochen’s phone rang once more.

With one hand holding Jin Jumo, Rong Mochen took out his phone from his pocket with the other. As his dark eyes glanced over the screen, he promptly hung up the call.

Seeing this, Jin Jumo could roughly guess who was calling.

Jin Jumo didn’t say anything more about it.

Once in the car, Rong Mochen said calmly, "I’ll send you back first, I need to make a quick trip to the company, I’ll be back soon, okay?"

"Alright." Jin Jumo nodded.

Rong Mochen grasped her hand, just about to start the car when the phone rang again within the car.

Rong Mochen glanced at the phone he had discarded in the storage compartment, frowned slightly, then looked at Jin Jumo beside him.

Jin Jumo was briefly stunned, only then realizing it was her own phone ringing.

Taking out her phone, Jin Jumo glanced at the screen, it was an unfamiliar number.

Puzzled and pursing her lips, Jin Jumo answered, "You..."

"It’s me, is Mochen with you?" An anxious female voice slightly dipped, came from the phone.

Jin Jumo instinctively looked at Rong Mochen.

Rong Mochen half-squinted his dark eyes, his cold face a few degrees colder.

Jin Jumo drew a breath, handed the phone to him.

Rong Mochen’s brow furrowed coldly, didn’t take the phone, instead raised his hand to press the end call button on Jin Jumo’s phone screen.

Jin Jumo’s eyelids twitched, her stretched out arm stiffly retracting.

As Rong Mochen started the car forward, she looked at him and softly said, "Perhaps it’s something urgent?"

Rong Mochen said nothing, the sharp lines of his profile appeared indifferent and unapproachable.

Jin Jumo lowered her eyes, thus said nothing more.

In less than two minutes, Fang Jingyi called again.

Jin Jumo’s eyebrows gently furrowed, somewhat troubled as she stared at the flashing phone, uncertain whether to answer.

Rong Mochen acted as if he hadn’t heard Jin Jumo’s phone ringing, his eyes unwaveringly fixed on the road ahead.

Ultimately, Jin Jumo did not pick up the call.

Because she knew, even if she answered, someone wouldn’t say a word to Fang Jingyi.

Given her current situation with Fang Jingyi, answering might lead to a difficult ending, and possibly, she’d be subjected to Fang Jingyi’s covert sarcasm and reprimand—a self-inflicted punishment!

Rong Mochen dropped Jin Jumo off at the villa, before leaving, he told Jin Jumo he’d return before noon to have lunch with her.

Standing at the villa’s entrance, Jin Jumo watched as Rong Mochen drove away. Her phone had rung throughout the drive, and was still persistently ringing.

Jin Jumo sighed internally, hung up the call, and sent a message to Fang Jingyi: The person you’re looking for is not with me right now. If there’s something, perhaps try checking the company. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞

Seeing the message sent successfully, Jin Jumo thought that since Fang Jingyi knew Rong Mochen wasn’t with her, she probably wouldn’t call back.

Jin Jumo relaxed completely, heading inside the villa.

But before she took two steps, her phone vibrated twice in her palm.

Jin Jumo’s peach-blossom eyes narrowed slightly, lowering her head she glanced at the phone, it was a message from Fang Jingyi.

Jin Jumo looked at the message Fang Jingyi sent, the corner of her mouth unwittingly curled—truthfully, Ms. Fang’s style was indeed as straightforward as ever!

"Don’t think just because your status has changed that I’ll accept you entering our Rong Family’s doors! And, no matter if you’re Mu Qinnian’s sister or the president’s sister, don’t even think about stepping over me!"

Jin Jumo raised an eyebrow but didn’t reply, calmly locked her phone screen and walked into the villa.

Meanwhile, Fang Jingyi angrily held her phone waiting for Jin Jumo’s reply, but after ten minutes, she still hadn’t received a message from Jin Jumo.

Fang Jingyi gritted her teeth tightly, her finger sliding across the phone screen, composing a message.

But as she was about to hit send, Fang Jingyi suddenly paused, furrowed her brow, deleted the composed message, and revisited Jin Jumo’s previous message.

Upon closely inspecting the message’s content, Fang Jingyi’s expression turned fierce—a realization struck that Jin Jumo and Rong Mochen had already returned to the country and were now in Z City.

She, as the biological mother, only learned of her son’s whereabouts through someone else—how truly ironic!

Holding her phone, Fang Jingyi let out a cold laugh, then turned around to change into her "battle outfit" for going out, instructing the driver to take her to the Rong Group building.

In the Rong Group president’s office, Wen Fu brought in the freshly brewed black coffee, placing it on the side of the desk, near the man who was sitting, gazing seriously at his files with his lowered gaze. Her voice instinctively softened, "President, I’ve brought your coffee."

Rong Mochen didn’t respond, seemingly didn’t hear Wen Fu’s words.

Wen Fu lightly bit her lower lip, "When did you return home? Is the matter with the Indonesia branch resolved?"

Rong Mochen’s file flipping slightly paused, raising his cold dark eyes, his stern face fixed on Wen Fu, and his voice came out colder than Antarctic ice— "Is Assistant Wen reminding me that I need to report my actions, everything I’ve done, to you one by one?"
