Akaris didn’t get off the turtle island as that would be foolish. The skeletons failed to climb up.
The turtle easily crushed them beneath its massive feet as it continued moving forward. He had no idea where it was going since he didn’t know any directions here.
He didn’t know which direction the red tower of whatever was, he just hoped the turtle was going in the right direction.
Just like that, the sunless dawn ended and the blood moon rose again. He heard the sound of crashing waves.
In the distance he saw the blood sea crashing towards him like a tsunami of blood.
He relaxed, the island turtle was tall, the blood sea would not reach him. Then the island turtle sat down and braced for impact.
" Fuck fuck fuck." He cursed and also braced for impact. The blood tsunami reached them, it crashed on the island turtle first.
Waves rose high in the air then fell on him, the scent of blood assaulted his senses but it’s what came after that terrified him.
His skin started itching, he felt as if something was burrowing inside his skin and indeed that was the case.
The blood sea was crawling with tiny almost invisible blood worms, those worms were now burrowing inside him.
They even managed to get past his mana skin which showed how terrifying they were. Akaris panicked and searched for a solution.
He placed light bringer closer to him then activated bolster, a domain of light spread out around him.
As expected, the light from light bringer could hurt the creatures of the blood sea but it was not fast enough.
It couldn’t get rid of them before they burrow inside him. He tried to think of something else.
An idea came to him but he was not sure if if would work. Akaris concentrated all of his attention on his mana.
He tried something he had never tried or rather couldn’t do before, he tried to create mana veins for a new skill.
It was impossible, no matter how hard he tried he couldn’t create a single vein, he sighed.
He accepted that only something as powerful as the system could create mana veins.
But that didn’t mean he couldn’t create a skill, as long as he willed a possible skill into existence, the system would create the mana veins for it.
What he wanted right now was to remove these blood maggots trying eat through him. He imagined himself burning.
His flames burning all of the maggots on his body without burning his skin. However his mana refused to move.
It would appear creating such a complicated skill was impossible for him so he tried something else.
He was running out of time, some of the maggots were halfway inside his skin, had he not been this tough or had mana skin.
They would be eating his organs by now, fortunately while they ate through his mana skin, it managed to block most of them.
Akaris’s new idea was more simple, even more simple than creating mana skin, he would expell his mana.
He gathered a large amount of mana inside him into a single point. Then released it, the mana spread out.
It phased through his body not damaging him but it hit the blood maggots like a speeding truck.
It pushed away all of the blood sea drops on his body and he was left dry. His skin started healing immediately after.
Even with his high vitality he couldn’t close wounds that quickly, he just stopped bleeding.

He grinned, " Isn’t creating skills a bit too easy? I thought it would be harder." What he didn’t know was that what he had just done was nearly impossible for humans or most other races infact.
Creating a skill took a lot of time and effort, not what he had just done. The truth was that, many factors contributed to this talent of his.
He checked the definition of his new skill.

The skill didn’t have any level, its power was entirely dependent on how much mana he used.
On that front it was similar to mana blade but also different. Akaris had a feeling mana blade had a limit on how much mana he can use at once.
Plus, he estimated that at a higher level it could achieve the same power with less mana which mana wave couldn’t.
Of course mana wave also had a minimum amount of mana required to use it and he was going to test how much mana that is when the blood spawn arrive.
’ Speak of the devil.’ he saw the sea churn and the blood spaw came out.

Oriana looked down and saw the blood spawn climbing up her stone pillar. On her hand was a bone.
A giant bone larger than she was, this bone belonged to a skeleton creature she had killed during the sunless dawn.
It belonged to a creature that looked like a rhino and an octopus. Oriana was going to try something.
She wondered if undead also counted as beast or that’s only reserved for living beasts.
She doubted undead would count though because she needed to absorb the soul of the beasts she killed, she wondered if undead had souls.
’ There goes nothing.’ she activated her bloodline skill.
