Time Travel: The Noble Family-Chapter 1086 - 458: Tingzheng’s Wedding (Part 2)
February 26th, Tingzheng is getting married.
Yueyao doesn’t care about the rumors outside, but since it’s her only brother’s wedding, and luckily she’s no longer experiencing morning sickness, she attended the wedding with Gu You and Gu Lan accompanying her.
Tingzheng’s residence is very close to the An Mansion, about a quarter-hour’s walk away. This house was renovated by someone Yueyao hired, and on that day she also personally inspected it, so she’s familiar with the layout. But today is Tingzheng’s wedding, and the house inside and out is all decorated in red, joy filling every corner from inside to outside.
Yueyao walked slowly, with Gu You and Gu Lan standing by her on both sides to support her, also prepared for any sudden situations. The two also served as a precaution by her side.
Zhuang Ruolan heard that Yueyao had come and went out to greet her: "Your body’s not well, you shouldn’t have come." Yueyao didn’t ask Zhuang Ruolan for help with organizing the wedding, and there was quite a lot of talk outside, with some even speaking nonsense in front of Zhuang Ruolan. Fortunately, Zhuang Ruolan understood why Yueyao didn’t ask her, or else a rift might have formed between them. This time Zhuang Ruolan came to help greet guests, also because of Ma Chengteng’s instructions, otherwise, she wouldn’t want to do such a thankless task. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Yueyao smiled and said, "Today is Tingzheng’s joyous day, how could I, his sister, not come." She needed to at least show her face to avoid gossip.
Upon entering the house, Yueyao saw that half the room was filled with in-laws, whom she recognized, and half she didn’t. It was obvious that the unfamiliar madams were likely the wives of Tingzheng’s colleagues and friends.
Lady Li was helping to organize Tingzheng’s wedding, but she caught a chill a couple of days ago and couldn’t come today, so now it’s Zhuang Ruolan stepping up.
Yueyao occasionally went to social events after her marriage, but the families she visited were either wealthy or noble, so half of the people had never seen Yueyao.
A woman in a water-red dress saw Yueyao and smiled warmly, saying, "Young Lady Li said Elder Sister Lian couldn’t make it today, I was a bit disappointed to hear that. But to my surprise, Elder Sister Lian actually came!"
Zhuang Ruolan whispered in Yueyao’s ear, "This is the daughter-in-law of Military Commissioner Liu from the Primus Battalion, her husband is also in the Imperial Forest Army."
Yueyao understood, she was the wife of Tingzheng’s colleague, though around her age: "I’ve been feeling quite nauseous lately, not in the best condition to entertain guests. I’m feeling a bit better today, so I came over." These words indirectly explained why she wasn’t helping with organizing Tingzheng’s wedding.
The in-laws in the room knew about Yueyao’s pregnancy, but others were unaware. As soon as Yueyao spoke, everyone looked at her belly. With just a little over two months pregnant, there wasn’t much to see even if they looked.
Zhuang Ruolan noticed how Yueyao was doing and helped block the various questions from the women in the room with a smile.
Though Yueyao was no longer nauseous, she felt sleepy. After sitting for less than a half-hour, she became drowsy. To the side, Zhuang Ruolan said with a smile, "Yueyao, you’d better go back! If you catch a cold, it won’t be a small matter. You’re not alone now; you have to think of the child."
Lady Li’s eldest daughter-in-law, Bao, seeing this, smiled and said, "Yes, Yueyao, you shouldn’t risk your health and the child’s health. Carrying twins is no joke, you need to take extra care."
Initially, she intended to stay for the ceremony and then leave, but her body couldn’t hold up. Staying would not be of help but rather cause trouble. Taking the two’s advice, Yueyao nodded and said, "Alright, I’ll head back now."
Yueyao couldn’t help, but An Zhichen was helping entertain guests in the front yard, in addition to Tingyi also greeting guests there. Despite rumors of discord between Tingzheng and the Lian family, Tingyi’s presence dispelled them.
Yueyao went home, slept as soon as she lay down, and upon waking, she saw someone sitting by the bed. Yueyao smiled and leaned against the headboard, asking, "Was Tingzheng’s wedding smooth?"
An Zhichen smiled and said, "It went smoothly. The bride has already been married into the family, so you don’t have to worry anymore." An Zhichen actually hoped Tingzheng would marry soon; with a wife to take care of him, Yueyao would have one less thing to worry about.
An Zhichen helped Yueyao get up and said, "I heard you went over today?" Ever since learning Yueyao was carrying twins, he was also nervous.
Yueyao nodded slightly, "I intended to attend the ceremony, but became sleepy after arriving, so I didn’t stay long before returning."
