Thrown Into A New World: Let The Punishment Begin!-Chapter 786 - The Young Master Of The Lumex Family
"I'll go first." Melissa shrugged again when the other girls remained silent, displaying no intentions of revealing their secrets.
The last time Princess Felicia had met these three girls from the Jorbin family was one of her past birthday celebrations.
Back then, they were silent and reserved but seeing them being lively here today, she did not think that it was a bad thing.
For someone who was lonely despite being surrounded by numerous servants, the Princess was quite liking the cheerful atmosphere here.
She knew the names and genealogy of every noble family in their Kingdom as that was a part of her education as the Princess.
Although she had not met most of them, she was confident that she would know their names and their families if they spoke about them.
Thus the Princess who had once despised learning about these lengthy names and family trees was now glad that she had done so.
She then looked around with curious eyes and waited to hear what their answers might be when Melissa Jorbin had spoken up once again.
"The Young Master of the Lumex family." The eldest triplet mumbled the name of the one she liked and smiled bashfully.
There was a moment of silence at this table as not many had heard of this person Melissa was talking about.
"The heir of Viscount Lumex?" Princess Felicia inquired so that she might confirm they were referring to the same person.
While a few of the girls here had heard about the Lumex fief, not many were acquainted with the family that was responsible for it.
"Ah…" Elna nodded when she recalled who this person was, for the Leopold and Lumex fiefs were neighbors which allowed her to have met this Young Master Lumex once or twice in the past. 𝑓𝚛𝚎ℯ𝘸𝙚𝘣𝚗𝘰νeƖ.c𝒐𝐦
However, the rest seemed oblivious about this person from the Lumex fief that Melissa was talking about.
'Lumex…' Yvonne frowned when she found the name to be familiar.
While she was pondering on where she had heard the name before, a voice coming from her side helped her find the answer in the next instant.
"Master Porte Lumex!?" Moana widened her eyes at her sibling's confession and Martha had a similar expression as well.
"Have you ever spoken to him properly? You only like his face." The second child of the Jorbin family scoffed at her sister who blinked as though she did not know what was wrong with that.
"Isn't that what love is?" Melissa declared with confidence which made the rest chuckle at her naive reply.
"I don't have to talk to him. Just looking at his face is enough for me." She added and giggled shyly, thinking of the few chances she had gotten to see that person.
The Lumex fief was located at the Southern border of Rosenhyde and the family rarely visited the Capital.
Most of the noble families who lived far away from Amarthea were often secluded and the Lumex fief was the best example.
Many of these girls had not even seen who this Master Lumex was whose appearance seemed to have enamored Melissa Jorbin.
'Lumex…'
Others might not have known much about him but the same could not be said about the child with amethyst eyes which seemed to be lost in a daze.
'Porte Lumex…' She repeated the name she had often read in the script the Bird God had sent to her in the past.
Prince Fritzen was the male lead of the script, the lover who later became the husband of the female lead, Hilda upon her return to the Capital with the identity of a child of nobility.
If Prince Fritzen was the male lead then Grand Duke Draco Roschester was the second male lead who always followed Hilda and stood as a shield before her.
In the same way, there was one more person who did everything in his power to ensure that Hilda had a good life.
'He did not care about his feelings and worried only about her.' Yvonne pursed her lips when she thought of this young man.
Porte Lumex, the heir of the Lumex fief, had a special identity in the script.
He was not only the third male lead who loved Hilda from the sidelines but he was also the legitimate fiance of the female lead before she arrived at the Capital.
'She forgot about him as soon as she met the Prince.' Yvonne disliked this portion of the script the most.
Prince Fritzen had been kept in the dark about the engagement that the two youngsters had as Hilda never brought it up during the numerous encounters she had with him.
While she was spending happy days with the Prince, Porte Lumex was preparing for a lavish wedding with the woman who had gone to the Capital for her coming-of-age ceremony.
By the time the rumors about the Prince and Hilda reached the southern fief of Lumex, it was already too late as the pair had already fallen too deep in love.
The Prince, of course, felt betrayed that Hilda had hidden this information from him but was appeased when he heard her defense.
'She said that it was the elders who decided on this marriage without caring for her feelings.' Yvonne scoffed inwardly as she thought that it was not the entire truth.
Considering how Hilda continued to meet Porte even after she became the Crown Princess, asking him for help when she needed it, Yvonne felt that the entire truth had not been disclosed in the script.
Sadly, she had no way of confirming her theory as she never had any dreams related to Hilda's life in her native fief where she must have met this man.
The dreams were mostly from the perspective of 'Yvonne' so it would be impossible for her to know what might have taken place between the two betrothed whose engagement later fell through.
Despite not having any information about what truly took place before Hilda arrived at the Capital, Yvonne was sure of one thing.
After reading the script and gaining the dreams of 'Yvonne', there were certain matters she felt strongly about.
She disliked Prince Fritzen who treated an imposter as his savior and tormented his true savior and her friends.
She abhorred the man who was supposed to be the spouse of 'Yvonne' but ran after his nephew's bride.
However, most of all, she pitied the only man who was blameless in the whole script.
Porte Lumex had his betrothed stolen away from him but he never exposed the truth about their engagement, even swallowing the pain of the betrayal he faced.
Instead, he helped her maintain this secret lest her reputation was ruined in the sights of the nobles who already despised her for her lowly upbringing.
Finally, he was ever ready to lend her a helping hand, unaware that he was throwing himself in a quagmire from which he could never escape.
The child sighed at the tragic ending this person had also faced in the script.
'Everyone except the main leads suffered a tragic fate.' She gripped the teacup in his palms.
However, most of all, it was undeniable that she disliked the female lead who was at the center of every misfortune that the others had faced.
Yvonne knew that she might sound selfish for thinking so but she did not care.
The script Asmodeus had written would have caused her to believe that Hilda was the innocent and blameless lamb who had suffered before she finally found her happiness with the Prince.
However, Yvonne also received the dreams of 'Yvonne' from that same script which made her think otherwise.
If she had not known this information then she would have believed every word that the Bird God had written.
Though that would be impossible now when the dreams showed a truth that appeared to have been erased from the script or purposefully concealed from it.
Thus Yvonne had no remorse when she declared in her heart that she did not like the type of person Hilda, the female lead, was and it would take a lot of effort for anyone to change her mind now.
"Miss Yvonne, who do you like?" A question coming from somewhere at the table worked wonders in snapping the child out of her deep thoughts.
"Certainly not the jerk.." Yvonne blurted out the first thought that had come to her mind, regretting what she had uttered almost instantly.
