Chapter 79: Chapter 79: Fall With Me

Over here Lachlan Wyatt was urgently leading people over, while over there, Iris Crawford was still giving orders. She was obviously imprisoned by Jonas Kingsley, but she wasn’t scared at all and ordered, "You, go stay to the side!"

Jonas pointed at himself, "Are you talking to me?"

Iris grinned, "Yes, you’re blocking my conversation with my old flame."

Lachlan, called "old flame," was immediately amused and annoyed by Iris. He stepped forward, locking eyes with Jonas, "You’re really restless, aren’t you? Already eagerly trying to make a move on Iris?"

Jonas, aggravated by Iris, looked displeased, and even his voice carried a sinister tone. It was clear that this person was usually not to be messed with, as difficult as a poisonous snake.

He said, "After all, it’s something you have your eye on. I just like to fight with you over the same things."

Lachlan remained unfazed, "I like eating shit, will you eat it too? Idiot."

Iris: "It’s unnecessary, hurting the enemy a thousand and self-damaging eight hundred."

Lachlan: "Shut up!"

"..." Jonas clenched his fist tightly, it seemed he hadn’t expected Lachlan to arrive so urgently. With a cold laugh, he said, "I really didn’t expect it, you’ve come so soon. It seems this woman’s weight is significant."

Lachlan didn’t deny it. Jonas was using Iris to test him. His hurried arrival only emphasized Iris’s importance, right?

He was supposed to search slowly, but for some reason, when it involved Iris, he couldn’t handle it calmly. Even knowing Jonas was baiting him, he still appeared as quickly as possible.

The place Jonas was holding Iris wasn’t elsewhere but in one of the Wyatt Family’s properties in the country, so Lachlan immediately knew this was Jonas’s provocation.

"He didn’t want my brother to decapitate him, so appearing quickly was normal." Iris grinned fiercely, baring her teeth at Jonas.

This woman was truly interesting. Even with shackles on her hands, she was still unrestrained in her defiance, "I’m important, did you only realize that today? I’m the most important in the world."

Calling Iris shameless wouldn’t be an exaggeration, she indeed had no shame saying she’s the most important in the world. Yet for some reason, when she said this, Lachlan could clearly sense her shrinking back.

By now Jonas had moved away from Iris. He stood up and approached Lachlan, lowering his voice, "Actually, I didn’t plan on doing anything to this woman. A replacement is ultimately just a replacement, not worth a fraction of the original."

Iris’s eyes narrowed.

"But... since you want to shift the focus, I might as well go along with it." Jonas’s smile was strikingly beautiful, indeed at certain angles, his face had an uncanny resemblance to Lachlan’s, "Today is just the appetizer. If you want to take Iris away right in front of me, you have to see if I agree."

In an instant, Lachlan’s eyes were filled with murderous intent, and it seemed a chill rose sharply from his back!

"Release her now." Each word came from the man’s mouth, not as negotiation but as a tyrannical command, "I have nothing to discuss with you, Jonas, don’t challenge me repeatedly."

"In terms of relationships and reasoning, you should call me brother."

Jonas looked at Lachlan with a sarcastic smile, "The son of a mistress is truly shameless."

Lachlan’s Adam’s apple bobbed, his eyes full of hostility, "All lowlifes, why compare?"

"I quite look forward to Jordan Jacobs slapping your face then."

Jonas leaned in, saying to Lachlan, "You even go after someone else’s ex-wife, Lachlan, speaking of lowlives, I’m not as bad as you. You can keep that title for yourself. Today I’m just probing with Iris, tomorrow it won’t be this simple..."

If he wanted to hide Iris, Lachlan would never be able to find her.

"So annoying, blabbering on." Lachlan couldn’t bear to listen any longer, he swung a punch directly at Jonas!

"Why do villains talk so much? Do you think you’re handsome?" Lachlan didn’t give Jonas a chance to react, after a command, all the bodyguards flooded in!

Iris keenly noticed that the people Lachlan brought were from Jude Hawthorne’s dojo, truly trained fighters, not just the usual security guards... bringing Jude’s people meant Lachlan was serious about breaking in.

"You actually dare hit me?"

Unexpectedly receiving a punch at the corner of his lips, Jonas held his face in disbelief, regaining his composure in fury, "You hit me for a cheap woman? You never treated her this well before, Lachlan, you’re not worthy of her at all!"

It seemed like Lachlan was infuriated by this statement, his attacks grew more vicious, and Iris knew about Lachlan’s aggression. He was usually lazy and casual, but once provoked, he would instantly transform into a ruthless war machine. Maybe this statement touched a sore spot for Lachlan, he aimed for Jonas’s weakest spot, his neck, attacking without hesitation!

Iris felt cold all over. From Jonas’s words, she could tell that Lachlan did have a beloved in his heart before, and this person seemed to be one of the sources of the conflict between Lachlan and Jonas, so much that Jonas came to capture her now just to provoke Lachlan.

Lachlan, cold and merciless as you are, could you have also fallen in love with someone?

Her mouth opened but before she could speak, the sound of footsteps came from the doorway, and immediately Jonas’s men arrived, first surrounding Iris, afraid Lachlan would break through the circle to snatch her, but since she was chained, she couldn’t run far, watching helplessly as Lachlan was engulfed by the crowd, countless cacophonous noises piled together.

In the midst of this chaos, someone broke in through the window from outside!

With a crackling sound, the white robe fluttered as Iris Crawford looked up, spotting the woman who had leaped in. A row of silver needles glinted between her fingers. She landed steadily in high heels, and as the person charging at her tried to suppress her, the silver needles flew out from her hand in an instant, and the burly figure fell to the ground with a thud.

"Birdie!"

Someone called her name, and Iris Crawford responded, "Peach! Watch out behind you!"

Peach had just dealt with a few people using tranquilizer needles when she felt a strong gust of wind from behind. Before she could turn, the gust stopped midway. Turning around, she saw Martin Hawthorne jumping in, grabbing the person’s head and slamming him to the ground!

Martin Hawthorne looked up, glanced at Peach, and with a disdainful tone, said while sending another charging person flying with a palm strike, "A hidden weapon is, after all, a hidden weapon! No martial ethics."

Peach wanted to stomp on his shoe, "This is called modern technology, got it?"

After saying that, she magically flicked her ten fingers. Between them, a few injectors filled with anesthetic appeared. She said, "Chestnut, I’ll leave Birdie to you!"

"Leave it to me!" Someone swung in from outside like Tarzan; this was the third floor!

The person swinging in had a high-tech wireless earpiece, from which Sarah Shaw’s voice came, "Transmit the on-site footage to me instantly with the micro-camera on your collar. I’ve scanned the entire scene here; wait for you outside the passage. Our vehicle can’t wait too long. The commotion has already spread outside."

"I’ve used an EMP to cut off the communication signals here at Jonas Kingsley’s place." James Chesterton frowned, flipping down to Iris Crawford’s side, "For five minutes, he won’t call in more reinforcements, but only for five minutes. With his resources, it’s only a delay."

"I’m customizing the fastest escape plan now. Your task is to unlock the chains on Birdie." Sarah Shaw sat in a camouflaged van outside, with Patrick Pierce next to her. She tapped on the keyboard, informing the present members of all the changes and temporary adjustments via the walkie-talkie, "Lachlan, keep Kingsley occupied. Peach and Martin, you break the encirclement. Martin, be careful not to kill anyone, and Peach, remember not to overdose on the anesthetic, or you’ll face manslaughter charges. James, what’s your status?"

"I’m a genius hacker; what’s unlocking a lock?"

James smirked proudly, but when he looked down, he was dumbfounded.

He could indeed unlock electronic locks.

But this was a physical lock!

Just a real, solid iron lock! Not a fingerprint lock or a code lock!

James’s face went pale, "No, there’s no key..."

Iris Crawford sucked in a cold breath, kicked away an approaching bodyguard, and dodged a wooden stick aimed at James, saying, "Can you do it or not?"

James took a deep breath, took off an earring, "I, I’ll try!"

Having cracked countless code locks before, James Chesterton used an earring needle to pick the iron lock for the first time. After fiddling in the keyhole for a while, he found the way, "Almost!"

By then, Jonas Kingsley’s men had arrived. Peach looked at the tanks approaching from afar, each with armed men standing in the rear compartment, cold sweat breaking out on her forehead, "What exactly is Kingsley doing... to have military weapons..."

"He has a share in the overseas arms business." Lachlan Wyatt clicked his tongue into his earpiece, "What’s happening with Iris Crawford? Prepare to retreat!"

"Unlocked!" Surrounded, James Chesterton and Iris Crawford were free, "I knew it, this lousy lock can’t stop me, I’m still the genius hacker!"

After saying that, Iris Crawford rubbed her sore hands, throwing the pillows and quilts off the bed to trip others up. James grabbed her and ran out, "Requesting support, we’re almost to the window! Why is this villa so large, Sarah, we’ve reached the window!"

"Wait a minute, I’ll drop the rope for you! Peach, Martin, get ready to slide down the ropes!"

It was too late; Jonas Kingsley had appeared before Iris Crawford without notice!

James tugged on the rope, trying to slide down with Iris Crawford, but she was grabbed by Jonas Kingsley, who jerked hard, pulling Iris back!

"Ah!"

Iris Crawford screamed as her view suddenly tilted dramatically. Sliding on the rope, James’s face changed drastically, "Situation changed, Sarah, Iris got pulled back by Kingsley!"

"Trying to take her away? Dream on!" Kingsley laughed savagely, looking at Iris Crawford who almost got taken away, "You guys have put a lot of effort into Iris!"

At this moment, a figure appeared, footsteps almost treading the walls as it rushed forward. The speed and force were quick and accurate. Before Kingsley could react, the woman in his arms slipped away in an instant!

Lachlan Wyatt seemed to flash in front of Kingsley, kicking off the wall as he flew by, snatching Iris Crawford from his hands and then, without hesitation, leaping out of the third-floor window!

With the forceful kick propelling him, the glass shards on the ground sprayed into the air. That night, Lachlan soared through the window, cradling Iris Crawford in a falling posture as he leaped from the third floor.

The wind seemed to slow down; as hair fluttered, the sparkling glass shards reflected Iris Crawford’s suddenly constricted pupils.

She was held tightly in Lachlan’s embrace, their hearts colliding due to inertia. She looked up, watching the sky in slow motion.

Ah, the moon is so beautiful.

Then, they plunged down fiercely.
