The sky of Nahui Ollin thundered as cracks appeared. It was like a scene out of the apocalypse. The sky had cracked and pieces of sky broke apart to reveal the void.

At this time, a burly man wearing a lion pelt appeared. His skin was the color of clouds tinted electric blue, and his hair was like mist. In contrast, the lion pelt was gold and crackled with a similarly colored lightning. The empty eyes of the lion flashed with lightning, and phantom roars filled the sky.

Held in his grasp was a long weapon that looked like a cross between a mace and a sword. Only, the surface resembled wood but had the color of bronze. The man clenched the handle with both hands and roared as he charged straight into the heart of the Mictlan, where the divine-level devil stood.

This was God King Herakles.

His appearance was striking, and his speed even more so. To most onlookers. It just appeared as if the sky had cracked and fallen, followed by a white cloud shooting lightning.

What followed after was a light so radiant, it dyed the world white. Thunder came after. It was so loud it made everyone on the continent feel as if the world had shattered.

When tranquillity returned, God King Herakles stood in the center of the Mictlan, back straight. Just like his appearance, thunder echoed in his every word. “Devil, the day of your judgement has come.”

The divine-level devil growled. Its figure was still shrouded in a black fog, but compared to before, the fog had lessened dramatically, and lightning would crackle occasionally from within.

Obviously, the god king of Olympus had left a lasting injury in the first attack.

The divine devil roared and charged at the Olympian divinity. At his level, very rarely would impulse cloud his judgment. The reason he did not rein it back was simply it suited the moment. In battle, the increased ferocity would aid him.

Not one to back down, Herakles responded in kind. However, he did not meet the devil with his weapon. The mace-sword transformed into lightning before disappearing in a flash.

The lion pelt’s paws covered his hands like gloves, armed to the claw—literally.

Herakles met the devil head on and wrestled with him, testing his mettle with no embellishment. They were simply comparing their physical might.

While the divinity and devil fought, Tlaloc retreated to the back lines. As the primary force that restrained the devil, she felt aggrieved. She clearly had the power to abolish the crisis threatening the Nahui Ollin System, but she had to hold back because of outside interference. And holding back a divine-level devil was not without its side effects. No amount of compensation would be worth it if she fell to the devilish path.

Thankfully, she had the faith of her believers to resist against the long-term and subtle influence of the divine-level devil’s corruption.

Tlaloc turned into rain and disappeared. Although the hole created in the sky of the Nahui Ollin System was repairing itself, she still had to take charge manually. She didn’t want any accidents to occur because she was not careful enough.

Herakles’s appearance naturally could not be hidden from the other pantheons, who reported to their superiors.

“What? Herakles already arrived and in person?” God King Horus asked. Although the Ma’at System also dispatched a divinity, a god king like himself did not leave.

In fact, although the Ma’at System had the largest number of deities, they also had more weaknesses. Like Tlaloc and Tenochtitlan, their powers would greatly weaken if they left their home system, with a select few exceptions.

“Did he pay some price to rush forward?” God King Horus asked. He shook his head. “Forget it. I’ve already received what was promised. What’s the use of seeking more? I should be content.”

He already knew that it was highly unlikely for the Ma’at System to become the alliance leader. Like the Immortal Court, he was seeking a higher status in the Pantheon Alliance.

In contrast to God King Horus, some pantheons showed deeper concerns.

“Impossible, impossible,” God King Thor shouted. He was still traveling through the True Nothingness, but he only made it about ninety percent of the way to the Nahui Ollin System. He had rushed as fast as possible, and he believed he should have been the fastest. The other divinities should have only made it seventy to eighty percent of the way, much less the Herakles System was considered on the farther end.

“Did Herakles smuggle himself into the Nahui Ollin System in spite of the ban?”

Of course, Thor also had his men visit the Immortal Court under some pretence in order to keep watch over the teleporter. Even when Nine Heavens went to the front lines, the demigods of the Thorson System did not give up their watch.

Even then, they did not forget Nine Heavens had avatars. So, they kept vigil over the fortress city in order to stop him if he wanted to secretly send Herakles over. To this end, they kept watch outside Nahui Ollin in the True Nothingness.

When he checked, Thor received a negative answer, but he still told his subordinates to double check and see if they missed anything. Not just him, but the demigods of the other pantheons also investigated the matter. Whether they think Herakles had snuck into the Nahui Ollin System earlier and only broke in from outside for appearances or just to verify, all of them dispatched their people.

Among the demigods, there were a few with spatial abilities. They couldn’t create cross-universe portals like Tianyi, but they could sense spatial fluctuations. After they checked, they couldn’t find any that indicated Tianyi opened the portal and snuck the god king of Olympus in. They also didn’t find his presence in the True Nothingness, so it was impossible for him to sneak out to do this either.

“Could it be that Herakles really rushed toward here by paying a price?” Thor asked himself.

A possibility occurred to him. “Could it be that he had already arrived at the Nahui Ollin System long ago, and the argument earlier was just a smokescreen?”

No divinities would do this. God kings might not be the strongest of their system, but they were definitely the most crucial. Thor considered himself bold and personally visited Mount Olympus and set out when he heard news of the divine-level devil.

A god king exists to maintain the rule and cycle of the system. Whenever a god king was changed, it meant a change or era or upheaval of the rules, like when his father, Odin perished, or when Zeus usurped Cronus’s position.

Wasn’t he afraid that someone would attempt to usurp him once he left?

What was he reliant upon to leave the Herakles System so confidently and for so long?

No matter how Thor pondered over the question, he couldn’t figure out the reason. “Maybe I’m overthinking it and he really paid a high price to rush over to the Nahui Ollin System?”

If he really paid a high price just to increase his chances for the position of alliance leader, then Thor could only say that he deserved it. Thor could also pay a similar price, but he wasn’t willing.

“It’s not without hope of becoming the alliance leader. As long as I can defeat everyone else, I’ll tie with Herakles and then we can choose another way to compete for the position,” Thor muttered to himself.

Although Herakles was already there, Thor did not turn back. He was already almost there, and it would be a pity to turn back without entering the Nahui Ollin System. Who knows, what if a miracle happened and Herakles couldn’t solve the divine devil?

Back in the Nahui Ollin System, Herakles had managed to put the divine-level devil in a choke hold. Naturally, the divine-level devil struggled, but no matter what he did, he could not break free.

Devilish energy exploded off his form like tiny daggers. Most that struck Herakles shattered upon contact, especially those that hit the pelt. However, tiny cuts appeared over his body over time because of the sheer amount.

The daggers formed of devilish energy didn’t disappear upon shattering. They disintegrated into a black fog that enveloped Herakles. Wherever there was an opening, it would try to enter his body and corrupt him. Before, he was protected in a golden shroud, but the wounds on his body gave the devilish energy another entry point.

In response, Herakles lifted him upward, feet first. With a roar, he threw the devil into the air and entered a stance. The divine-level devil wanted to take this chance to flee, but as if pulled by some irresistible force, he fell toward the god king. Herakles unleashed a series of blows all over the devil’s body before grabbing and twisting him with the intent of breaking his spine.

In the Herakles System, the greatest martial art was Pankration created by Herakles and Theseus. Although it appeared like simple brawling and wrestling, each move incorporated laws, energy flow, and many other aspects to deliver the greatest blow.

As one of its creators, if Herakles claimed to be number two in expertise, no one would dare to claim number one. Especially since Theseus perished long ago.

Finally, the divine-level devil could no longer take it anymore. His body split in half.

For a moment, the world stilled, and even Herakles became stunned. The devil knew that he would not have this chance for long, so his two body parts fled in two different directions.

Herakles’ eyes cooled. “Since you don’t want to fight anymore, it’s time to end this.”

The god king of Olympus raised his hand above his head, as if to grab something. With a roar of thunder, a lightning bolt appeared in his grasp. This was the true form of the mace-sword he had clutched before.

Its true form was the divine artifact Thunderbolt, the symbol of God King Zeus’s might and rule. As the new god king of Olympus, Herakles inherited this weapon from his father.

He reared his arm back and entered a stance. Any denizens of Olympus who saw this would immediately know that this was the most classic spear throwing stance.

“HrahhhhhH!” Herakles yelled as he threw the Thunderbolt. The divine artifact shot forward so fast that it left a trail of light that made it resemble a laser instead of a lightning javelin.

The upper half of the divine-level devil didn’t even have a chance to cry out before it was vaporized into nothing. Upon seeing this, the lower half of the divine-level devil trembled. It squirmed and wriggled before exploding into three hundred separate pieces that flew in different directions.

Herakles raised his hand, and the Thunderbolt returned to his grasp almost instantaneously. Once again, he entered a throwing stance once more. He threw the divine artifact, and it pulverized over thirty devilish avatars.

The Thunderbolt didn’t return to the god king’s hand and zigzagged through the battlefield, destroying any avatar it came across.

When the demigods saw this, especially those from competing pantheons like the Thorson System, they rushed forward in an attempt to destroy the avatar themselves. They may not be a match for a divine-level devil, but one that split himself countless times should be weak enough. At least, they thought so.

Even if a divine-level devil’s avatar only had the power of an immortal sovereign or emperor, they were still far stronger. Those demigods who were careless fell under the devilish temptations and turned crazy, became the avatar’s nutrients, or were possessed, among other pitiable fates.

Although Herakles destroyed most of the avatars, a few were solved by other demigods. The divine-level devil had too many avatars, and the Thunderbolt had to cover too much ground. Plus, Herakles was stronger in close-range than long range, which allowed the demigods to succeed.

When the Thunderbolt returned to his hand, it disappeared. He turned toward Tlaloc. “God Queen Tlaloc, has the divine devil been exterminated fully?”

“Yes.” frёewebηovel.cѳm

Herakles smiled. “Good. It’s time to purge the last bastion of the devils.”
