This Spiritual Energy is Lethal!-Chapter 112 - Big Trouble
Chapter 112: Chapter 112 Big Trouble
Chen Ke and Pihom wandered around in the Holy Oak District for a while, observing the traffic around and staying as close as possible to Pulito Bank to observe the S.W.A.T. situation.
After confirming it was just a false alarm, S.W.A.T. and County Police gradually left, but at the same time, a black SUV that followed the S.W.A.T. convoy didn’t leave; it stopped opposite the bank and a man and a woman got out.
Far down two streets, Pihom parked the car on a parking spot outside a Western restaurant, then pulled out a small telescope and handed it to Chen Ke, who took it and looked toward the man and woman.
Just one glance at them gave Chen Ke an extremely strange and eerie feeling.
Both were wearing black hooded coats, black pants, and black leather ankle boots with leather gloves, completely covered from head to toe, except for their necks and faces.
The man was pale with sunglasses, looked emaciated, had long, thin, sunken cheeks, and his long black hair was slightly curled, feeling damp.
...
Even from such a distance, Chen Ke could feel the man’s height was beyond average, probably over 2 meters tall; it was hard to imagine him fitting in the driver’s seat of the SUV.
Compared to his height, the man’s physique also gave Chen Ke a strange feeling which he figured out after scrutinizing a bit more.
The man’s body proportions were off!
Despite standing very straight, he still gave off a hunched look due to his neck being twice as long as an average person’s, causing him to lean his head forward to mask his bizarre body structure.
Moreover, his arms were noticeably long, with fingertips extending beyond his knees when naturally hanging; it was hard to imagine how long his reach might be…
The woman dressed in the same clothes as the man; her body proportions were normal, her face pretty, but failed to evoke a desire to approach her from the opposite sex because her skin was a sickly pale purple.
Even with a hood on, Chen Ke could guess from her shiny forehead that the woman was bald, and on her forehead, there was a dark purple rune tattoo…
Silent Witch! She was a Silent Witch! Exactly as Lucina had described!
It seemed that this small bank held something more valuable than money; they had even employed a Spiritual Ability User for protection.
Chen Ke adjusted the magnification of the telescope, keeping a close watch on the man and woman.
They had no plans to enter the bank, just observing from the street opposite. The man appeared to be sniffing something in the air, while the woman had a smile that wasn’t quite a smile, seemingly disturbed.
Suddenly, the woman glanced in Chen Ke’s direction and smiled at him.
Chen Ke, frightened, immediately packed up the telescope, and when he looked again from a distance, the man and woman had returned to their vehicle.
“How is it?” Pihom asked.
“It’s more complicated than I imagined; if we are going to make a move, we must ensure we have enough time to escape,” Chen Ke returned the telescope to Pihom.
“Yes, if we set off the alarm right at the beginning, our people won’t last long under that kind of firepower,” Pihom nodded.
“We need a detailed plan, more specific than the one we made in the safe house,” Chen Ke said.
“Bain should be able to manage that; I’ll take you to meet him,” Pihom replied.
He started the car and slowly drove away, turning at the next street corner.
Just as Chen Ke and Pihom were leaving, the man and woman in the black SUV were watching them. The man’s thin lips extended a black, snake-like tongue, while the woman’s purple rune tattoo on her forehead faintly emitted light.
Pihom drove Chen Ke out of Holy Oak to Raffi Road District. They drove through a bustling commercial street and into a posh apartment complex.
These apartments were much nicer than ordinary tin houses, clearly a place where white-collar workers lived. Chen Ke thought Bain might live there, but Pihom didn’t stop, instead continuing to drive further.
The scenery changed abruptly beyond the apartment area; the car drove through a concrete gap, over a low brick wall to the other side, which consisted of a community with numerous white trailer homes and wooden structures for residences.
“Bain is our intelligence expert, he crushes opponents in many ways; we use guns, he uses a keyboard,” Pihom said.
He parked the car on an empty lot, then led Chen Ke toward a white trailer home.
This particular trailer was cleaner than the others, with many flower pots placed at the door, various unknown flowers blossoming, the petals and leaves still holding dewdrops – a sign that the person living here was meticulous.
“Knock, knock, knock,” Pihom knocked on the door.
After a pause, nobody answered.
“Are you sure this is the place?” Chen Ke asked.
“This is it, no doubt about it,” Pihom replied and knocked three more times.
Still, there was no response at the door.
“It looks like he’s not here,” Chen Ke shrugged.
“You better tell me who that Asian guy beside you is, Pi.”
Suddenly, a raspy male voice came from the door’s speaker. Chen Ke looked up and around, spotting a camera mounted on a nearby utility pole.
“He’s our new blood,” Pihom spoke towards the speaker.
With a click, the door unlocked, and Pihom twisted the handle, opening the door and gesturing for Chen Ke to follow.
The two entered a white RV and closed the door behind them. The inside was dark, with windows covered by curtains blocking the light, making the RV much hotter than outside as it was packed with servers and cables.
In the back, a man sat on a couch, holding a laptop. Next to him, a table held several monitors displaying orange text on a black background which Chen Ke couldn’t understand.
Feeling hot, he thought about taking off his suit jacket, but when he reached out, he accidentally hit something, and suddenly, a cat meowed from a corner.
“Meow…”
An orange cat squeezed itself out from the gaps between several cases, lazily rubbed against Chen Ke’s legs, then jumped onto the couch and curled up.
“Purr, go play somewhere else. We have guests. Make some room,” Bain said without looking up from his laptop, speaking to the cat.
The orange cat made a reluctant purring sound as it jumped off the couch and retreated into a dark corner behind the servers.
Chen Ke used the light from the screens to study Bain who had a beard long enough to whip someone with, wore a cap, a plaid shirt, jeans, and rimless glasses.
“Hainerd and his guys have disappeared, I can’t find them. We’ve run into trouble, real trouble, Pi,” Bain lifted his head and looked at Pihom.
Pihom didn’t respond, just frowned and slowly sat down on the couch.
“I went through the intel from that last operation but found nothing off. Do you realize what this means for us?” Bain glanced at Pihom and then at Chen Ke.
“Of course I know; the whole damn thing was fake—rigged even… Hainerd’s hit targeted goods from Lescott Spirit Production and Weber Spirit Production, but now it seems Si’s consortium was behind it too,” Pihom said.
“Si’s consortium had their own moves that night, probably causing the Spiritual Energy burst at the West Gold Building. Don’t you think there’s a connection?” Bain asked.
“What do you mean?” Pihom asked, puzzled.
“Are you suggesting that Hainerd was with Si’s consortium that night?” Chen Ke asked.
“Yes, smart kid. That’s exactly what I’m saying. Maybe the intel was real, someone leaked Si’s consortium’s plan but tweaked some details, swapping Si’s consortium for Lescott and Weber…” Bain explained.
“Someone is using us? Using us to rob Si’s consortium…” Pihom pondered.
Chen Ke remained silent, formulating his own theories.
The whole affair originated from Si’s consortium’s actions at the West Gold Building, but now, the forces involved had become vastly complex…

Si’s consortium’s squad, Black Guys, Deliverer Hainerd’s team—they were all directly linked to the case. Whether the nightclub fatso was involved, Chen Ke couldn’t tell.
What was fatal was that there were at least three double-crossers involved… Miles who mysteriously disappeared in Fan Hede Kingdom, Hainerd who vanished during the operation, and the deliverer informant Parchi…
Chen Ke speculated that a third-party power was using the deliverers to steal stuff Si’s consortium obtained from the Great Void.
If that was indeed the case, the troubles deliverers faced were not merely about robbery.
It was a matter that involved the Transcendent level. Could this mortal organization, the deliverers, really handle it?
