The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system-Chapter 186: Many helpful hands.
Grandpa Tai and elder Ren chuckled. Then, the elder told her, "It's for a selfish reason. I haven't painted anything I like in the last three years but listening to your music since I heard you playing at that charity has helped me. I think I have found inspiration again but I need to be somewhere where I can listen to you play often to test it out. As for this young lady besides me, she is Ren Liya, my granddaughter and apprentice. Where I go, she goes."
"Ooh, huh, hello." Alix was still lost when she responded.
Ren Liya glared at Alix like a sullen teen packing a big attitude and she said, "Hmph."
Then, she walked up the steps on her own to handle her transfer.
Tai Jiaan and Ren Liya had come from the same school. He also had a bit of a hopeless crush on her. He grabbed his back and followed her eagerly. "Sister, I will see you later." he told her.
"Tsk, tsk, that brat, how can he run after her so openly like that?" Elder Ren held the back of his neck with one hand and pointed at Tai Jiaan who was shamelessly chasing after his grand daughter. "Old Tai, how many times should I tell you to keep your grandson away from my granddaughter?"
"How is it my fault? I said that I was moving Jiaan here and you brought Liya on your own. I am beginning to think that you want your granddaughter to marry into my family." Grandpa Tai peeked at his friend and responded, very sarcastic in the way he said it.
Elder Ren thumped his chest and replied confidently. "Ho, my good granddaughter and only apprentice will not marry into your Tai family. If it happens I will give you one of my greatest paintings for free."
"We don't need your paintings. I can buy dozens of them in one go if I wish." Grandpa Tai answered.
Alix was still trying to unpack the transfer of both children, the voluntary job assignment of elder Ren and now, a soft version of Romeo and Juliet.

Chairman Tai could not stand listening to the two elders argue again over a matter which neither one would have no control over if it happened in the future.
He poked Alix on her upper right side shoulder and told her in a low voice, "Why don't we speak in your office. These two can do this all day."
She was not very certain about leaving the two elders behind after they had come all this way to help her but she had no idea how long this back and forth would keep going. So, she nodded and took a first step, followed by a second. Slowly she found herself walking alongside Tai Heng.
To make up for the silence, she opened her mouth and said, "En...uncle, thank you for coming."
He smiled, tilted and then lowered his head to glimpse at her before looking in front again. "I thought that it's godfather. If you call me uncle then I will begin to fear that you would prefer one of my brothers to fill in that position."
"No." she blurted out.
She felt silly for blurting the denial out so strongly and she nervously wrung her fingers while she explained. "I mean, it's all the same godfather and uncle. But, you are my favorite uncle, for real."
"Really?" he raised his eyebrows.
Alix nodded so much, eager to be believed. "You are brother Ho Sun's father and grandpa's first son. Affection should be given out in order of birth. First uncle, that makes you my favorite uncle automatically."
Chairman Tai laughed, because he couldn't help himself. Her logic was quite skewed but he would not argue with it. Being the favorite uncle was not a bad thing. At the very least, he had gathered some bragging rights.
"What to do? As your favorite uncle I haven't given you anything good to date. Why don't we do this, I will give you some spending money. Your school is going to need a lot of work. Before you turn me down like you did your brother and grandfather, keep in mind that I am giving you a gift and I will be very hurt if you turn it down."
He stopped walking, touched his breast pocket and handed her a bank card.
"The password is your birthday." he told her.
She accepted the card because he she didn't want to hurt his feelings but she was surprised when he told her the password was her birthday. Did it mean he had prepared it in advance? Initially it sounded like he was just doing it randomly, out of the blue.
A weird sense of affection swam through her body and she smiled, because she was touched.
"Uncle, thank you." she said in a soft voice.
She smiled at him, her mouth so wide that all of her teeth were on top, most of them anyway.
Chairman Heng laughed beneath his breath as he recalled the words his wife had shared all night and morning. They should snatch her up as their daughter before his brothers and their wives came to the same conclusion.
The pretty baby as she called her was adorable and pure, open with her emotions and honest.
"Your brother gave me a hard drive with names of teachers that he recommends you hire. He is poaching star teachers from other schools and even had someone speak to them before the holiday ended. Don't worry about their salaries. He even offered to cover them for a full year as you get the school on it's feet."
"Big brother, Ho Sun?" she said, in a surprised voice.
Chairman Tai nodded and he handed her the usb drive. This time round, Alix's hands trembled slightly when she took it. It was just her first day and she already had many helping hands.
A question popped into her mind. What had she done to deserve this help and kindness? How could these people be so nice to a stranger they barely knew?
She thought that she had accepted enough help for now. To accept even more was simply shameless. "Uncle...."
Chairman Tai had been studying her face and he read the surprise, confusion and many other emotions she experienced. So he knew just what she planned to say to him.
"Don't. Your brother worked so hard on this and he will be hurt if you just say reject him outright. At least do your own research and look into the teachers.
As for the salaries, if you are worried about spending his money then you can spend some of mine. All my sons are grown up and they earn their own money. I have one grandson and his mother told me to stop lavishing him in toys because their house is stuffed to the brim.
I am happy to spend some of that money on my new daughter, our family's precious queen of jade."
She rolled her eyes a little and smiled. Tai Ho Sun had referred to her as that on the day she shared breakfast with the Tai family. Apparently it had caught on. But, at the moment, she had to respond to him so she didn't dwell on that.
"Erm, uncle, I am so happy for the help but I will pay the teachers myself. I trust big brother's judgement and I will take those teachers as long as they are willing to teach in a little known school like mine."
The first steps to turning Fuwen academy around had already started with the help of family.
