Chapter 63: Feelings (1)

It was not until an hour later that the acts of passion gradually died down. The heat of what transpired remained as the sound of breathing dominated the room.

Ayen almost lay down on the sofa; his hands were still firmly held. Devion and Khal lay down at his sides, perfectly enclosing him in between them.

He felt his left hand being played with by Devion, fiddling with his fingers. He glanced at him; the flush in his face might have disappeared, but the traces of their intense making out remained.

Devion’s lips looked so red; the corner of his lips was a little torn. Ayen licked his lips and felt the same in his lips. He could not even feel his tongue as if it had gone numb.

When Devion sensed his gaze, his eyes firmly locked with his. Then he grinned, "Look what you did to me." Devion looked down and showed his collarbone.

The red marks and bites had glistened on them. They were messy; it was obvious that the one who did it just let his lust take over.

Ayen’s cheeks heated up, a little embarrassed. He did not regret leaving those marks, but seeing them up close still made him slightly ashamed.

Devion chuckled. "Pretty cute," he murmured, leaning forward to bury his face in the crook of Ayen’s neck. His breath brushed against Ayen’s skin, but he did not do anything and just calmly settled there.

Ayen could understand what Devion, also known as Khal, was feeling at this moment since he was feeling the same.

It was not exhaustion; it was a different kind of fulfillment that Ayen only wanted to lie down like this with them. The intense pleasure might have already passed, but it left him with a feeling of content and also laziness.

Khal had been silent since earlier; he was only leaning his forehead on Ayen’s shoulder. Ayen knew he was awake because of the sound of his breathing and the occasional movements of Khal’s fingers with his.

He seemed to have a lot of things on his mind; Ayen stopped himself from guessing. He did not want to ruin the atmosphere.

Ayen preferred for them to stay like this for a little longer.

"Do you feel anything?"

The silence persevered for about ten minutes before Khal’s question shattered it. With his question, Devion’s head also moved slightly.

"Nothing. There are no backlash symptoms," Ayen honestly answered.

"Really?" Khal asked again.

Ayen nodded. "Guiding both of you eliminates it. That’s what I think."

Khal fell silent. Ayen did not say if he agreed or if there was something else in his mind.

"How is it possible? I never heard of something like that." Devion voiced out his doubts.

Ayen was just as clueless as he was.

"What do you think?" Devion’s question clearly pointed to Khal, who was still silent.

Ayen glanced at Khal, who pulled his away slightly, looking at Ayen.

"Ayen’s a unique Guide. We can just think of it as such." Khal seemed to truly think so. Ayen had suddenly come out of nowhere and managed to surprise them each time.

If he was interested in him before because of his capability to guide them, then Khal became more intrigued. How come Ayen had never been discovered by others before?

Just because he was an E-class Guide?

Devion agreed and did not ask further. Ayen could also think of other things to continue their conversation. He suddenly thought that he had forgotten something to say or ask the two, but since his mind was not cooperating, he decided to think deeper tomorrow.

With the warmth of the two espers at each side, Ayen had drifted to sleep without him knowing.

The whole room fell into silence once more. The two espers did not move and let Ayen sleep peacefully. After a while, Khal moved first and got up.

He leaned back first before checking himself. The traces Ayen left in his collarbones stood out. Khal touched them slowly, his expression unreadable.

"What’s wrong with you?"

A whisper made him snap out of his thoughts. Khal paused and glanced in the direction of the voice. It was Devion.

He was still leaning on Ayen’s body, but his face was not buried in the crook of Ayen’s neck anymore.

"Hmm?" Khal hummed, confused.

Devion almost rolled his eyes. He got up slowly, wary that his movements might wake up Ayen.

"Don’t act dumb." Devion pointed at him. "That look. You’ve had a lot in mind." He did not ask as though he was certain of it.

Khal’s blank expression dropped and was replaced by a smile on his lips.

"You can tell?" He replied teasingly, but he was always acting like this; Devion was used to it by now.

Devion placed his head on the back of the couch, looking intently at Khal.

"I’ve been with you for so many years. I can tell that much."

Khal did not immediately respond. He stared at Devion, almost as if he was enchanted.

"Hah, right." Khal chuckled and lowered his gaze.

They had known each other for years. Devion sometimes could tell his mood, but most of the time, he was dense in discerning Khal’s expressions.

Devion narrowed his eyes. "I hope you’re not mocking me in your mind."

Khal laughed and shook his head.

"You really... know me." His smile faded, and he sighed. He looked at his hand, the one that held Ayen’s hand, and made them all connect as if they were whole.

The feeling, that sensation of being whole, still lingered in his whole being.

"What’s on your mind? You can tell me." Devion turned serious.

It was not often he saw Khal look distraught like this, as though there were a lot of complex thoughts in his mind.

Khal lifted his head as seconds passed. He glanced at Ayen, then shifted back to Devion.

"You must have felt it too. Ayen had completely cleansed the mana toxins in my body." Khal had sensed that his wavelength had accumulated mana toxins much faster after Ayen had left their side.

That was extremely unusual. Khal also noticed it with Devion, and as soon as the critical season ended, he persuaded Devion to visit Ayen.

"What did you propose?" Despite not agreeing, this question already answers Khal’s question. "You want him to tie with us?" Devion’s voice became sharp.

Khal stared at him, opened his mouth, and then closed it again. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

He lowered his gaze and looked at his hand; he slowly clenched it.

"I don’t want to force him," he finally answered.

"Then what?" Devion looked like he almost wanted to shout, but since Ayen was asleep, he could not.

Khal had recognized that Ayen could not stay apart from them. He and Devion needed him. However, they could not be away for too long in the forbidden zone.

"I also don’t know." Khal closed his eyes and stood up.

"Where are you going?" Devion sat up.

"I’ll meet Renji. I’ll come back later."

With that, Khal left with complicated thoughts still running in his mind.
