The Witcher – Uchiha Madara!-Chapter 318 – The departure of Eira.
[Chapter Size: 2500 Words.]
Third Person POV

Madara chose not to leave the temple, even though he would be sleeping there anyway. However, he left a clone to observe, wanting to make sure the adult unicorn would not be a problem for everyone there, while knowing that the sedative she had ingested would keep her knocked out for the entire night.
He explained the situation to Ciri, while she continued to keep an eye on Eira together with his mother, who did not want to leave his side.
"She is fine, Eira, Madara said she will wake up soon." Ciri stroked the foal's back, who tapped his hooves lightly on the ground, also believing that.
"Did you know that Madara fought her?" Ciri said with a laugh, while the unicorn could not help but give an indignant look, searching for Madara, who was in a corner of the courtyard.
"Don't worry." Ciri said when she saw his reaction. "Your mother attacked him while looking for you. He's just a bit addicted to battles and accepted her challenge. He didn't really hurt her, he just put her to sleep with those plants he can make grow from the ground." Ciri commented at his side, staying there for a while in the end.
Madara picked up the adult and placed her in a corner of the temple. Nenneke wanted explanations after coming across nothing less than a fainted adult unicorn being carried by Madara. With her grumbling something about how bizarre things had become common ever since they had moved to the temple, the entire temple.
Nenneke could only say it was a relief that they were hidden away in a corner that no one had permission to enter, except a few people. Otherwise, all the priestesses who worked for the temple would be screaming, exclaiming horrors at the madness that had been happening on that side of the temple that she and a few selected ones had to see almost every day.
Eira did not even sleep in the room, preferring to stay with his mother, and Ciri did not complain, going to bed with Madara.
When the children of the morning sun appeared, the adult unicorn finally opened her eyes, and the first thing she saw was her son sleeping beside her, startling her as she began to move, wasting no time upon seeing her child after moons apart, there with her. Like a dream.
Eira also woke up with the mare's sudden movement, realizing that his mother was awake, and soon expressed joy at being reunited with her. The larger unicorn hurriedly stood up and began to sniff him, searching for any injury before completely covering him with her tongue, licking him with joyful sounds.
'My son! My dear foal!'
Madara was already close to them and stayed there watching for a while, until the adult unicorn noticed his presence. At first, she stepped in front of her foal. Upon seeing the human, who had managed to defeat her, she expected that they would be in some kind of cage, but the place seemed open, despite being inside a human structure. Even so, she believed that the human had captured her and placed her together with her son.
'You dare imprison me together with my son, human?', she said, her voice echoing telepathically as always.
But before Madara could respond, the small foal began to protest, emitting his little sounds, whinnying to his mother, who stopped to wonder why her son was somehow protecting this human.
He might not speak telepathically, but his mother understood his gestures very well, and so he began to tell what had happened to him since he was captured and taken by the sea, from one place to another, until ending up before these two who had taken care of him.
'Is that true?', she said, turning to Madara, while a platinum-haired girl ran toward them from the doors of another place, coming to Madara and stopping beside him, looking with a mix of caution and admiration at the unicorn mother.
That must be Ciri, whom her son had spoken of. The unicorn mother imagined.
"Incredible, she woke up!", Ciri said, her gaze filled more with admiration as she studied her.
'My son says you took care of him. Is that true, humans?', the voice caught Ciri by surprise as she heard it in her mind, while Madara shrugged, already used to it.
"What was that? She spoke in my mind, she can enter my mind?!", Ciri said, stunned.
"It seems the unicorn has certain abilities. Even I can hear her voice, and my mind and yours are very well protected. However, nothing worse than a voice happens...", Madara said.
He believed that unicorns could enter their minds or succeed in mental attacks, however, superficial messages seemed to be transmitted without any resistance, even with his seals, without his permission.
Ciri turned her attention back to the unicorn, before opening a smile soon after understanding Madara's explanation.
"Anyway. Eira, you finally found your mother!", she said, laughing, while the adult unicorn listened to her son whinny proudly and happily, stomping his hooves on the ground.
'I sense no malice in you, human, which makes me think you are telling the truth. Besides....' She turned to Madara this time. 'I also sense no malice in you. However, I felt your fighting spirit that night, which must have been a few hours ago... You wanted to fight me simply for the sake of fighting, human?', she said, not ceasing to think about the powers he possessed, capable of surpassing her easily.
"And you threw yourself at me. You simply unleashed your flames, you started it... or am I mistaken?", Madara replied, mocking the unicorn, who could not help but shudder and lower her head.
'I am sorry for that. I was wrong', she admitted. She had been anxious after months without being able to find her son, no sign of him, and when she found him, she acted wrongly... She kept her head lowered. 'I ask for forgiveness', that was what she said, and she truly meant it.
"Alright. It's not like you were a problem I couldn't deal with easily," Madara mocked, leaving the unicorn speechless at how low he regarded her.
A silence took over the four of them, while Eira remained cautious and torn. His mother approached him, licking him before turning back to the two humans.
'My name is Aelthra, and my son, whom the girl calls Eira... is Maerith.... May I know who you are? You don't intend to imprison us, correct?', she asked.
"Of course not. I am Cirilla Uchiha, and I'm glad you found your son," Ciri replied with a friendly smile.
'I see that you are pregnant.' She noticed the very obvious curve of her belly. 'You will soon share the same worries I have with my foal.', she said, while Ciri nodded, opening a very sincere smile.
The unicorn then turned back to Madara, who merely clicked his tongue.
"Madara Uchiha.", he replied, and the unicorn looked as if she were expecting something more, until silence once again took over the group.
'I have never seen a human like you...', the unicorn commented carefully, never taking her eyes off Madara. "And the child in her belly must be yours."
"Naturally," Madara said, watching the unicorn study Ciri's belly, when her eyes suddenly widened.
'It cannot be… you possess ancestral blood!', the unicorn mother realized at once. She had only taken a glance at the child, but she felt the chaotic energy of the girl herself, the energy that world produced and that had escaped them before generating an even more powerful being.
'Never did I imagine I would find this blood here', she said carefully to Ciri now, who narrowed her eyes. She did not seem to fear anything in her words, but she looked at Madara with a questioning gaze.
"She comes from the world where the Aen Elle elves also come from. Those same elves who are after you. She recognizes your lineage because she must have already seen it in the other world, which means you are quite old, unicorn," Madara said, directing his last words to the horned mare.
'No, I am not that old. But we unicorns have certain abilities. We can pass information from generation to generation, just as I will pass information to my son about myself and my ancestors', she said. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
Madara raised an eyebrow, finding that interesting. He had never heard of that, but in any case, he now returned with a more serious tone to the unicorn.
"I have the feeling you won't stay here much longer... I imagine you will take Eira with you.", Madara noted, looking at her.
The mother nodded, not denying it. Obviously, she would leave with him, while Ciri pressed her lips together, looking with conflict at the unicorn, who also shared a sad, conflicted look with Ciri.
'Yes. We will return home. It was a mistake to come to this world, which caused me to lose my son to greedy humans... I managed to locate all of them and eliminate them, but my son was with you... We will find some other safe place', she said, while looking at her son and emitting a sad sound.
'You like these people, don't you? And it seems they took good care of you. However, this will not be safe for you, Maerith. Moreover, I feel that your powers are increasing rapidly. Soon, they will become uncontrollable. That is why no one has ever managed to keep a unicorn for long, because there comes a time when the powers of our race, without the guidance of an elder, become dangerous, killing the unicorn and everyone around it', the mother explained, before turning back to the two in front of her.
The girl looked heartbroken, while the man remained calm.
'I owe my son's safety to you, and one day I will repay this debt. I will protect my son', she warned. Then she turned to her child. 'We should be going now. It is better to go home. That is why you have to say goodbye to them',
Eira was conflicted, but nodded, taking a few steps forward. He did not hesitate to move ahead until he met Ciri halfway and let her hug him, before beginning to cry.
"We knew this day would come. After all, we agreed to take care of you until we found your mother. But I won't deny that I grew attached to you, Eira. You are the best companion I could ask for. You saved my life and saved my child's life. Thanks to your magic, I will never forget you," Ciri said through tears, while the other responded by rubbing his head against her hair, allowing himself to cry as well.
His mother said nothing, only observed the interaction.
Madara approached, and when Ciri released him, he crouched down and touched Eira's head.
"Well, this will not be the last time we see each other, Eira. Of that I am certain. Thank you for everything. You helped a lot when Ciri was in trouble and kept her company all this time. When we meet again, I hope you will be a fine steed. Our adventures will end here, but we can continue them when we meet again," Madara said, while the other whinnied as well.
"Let us go," the unicorn mother's voice sounded in everyone's mind.
Eira nodded, despite giving one last reluctant look at the couple. He went to the adult unicorn and stayed close to her legs, as his mother instructed.
In the next moment, they began to glow with a white light and soon disappeared in that same morning in which they had met. It was strange, it seemed quite rushed, but even so, they could not blame her, since the mother must have been very cautious after losing her son and likely wanted to go as quickly as possible to another place where they would be safer.
"Just be careful next time. Don't lose your child again," Madara could not help but murmur, with only Ciri hearing him.
Ciri began to sob. He touched her shoulder while she was still crouched on the ground in the same position. She looked at him with tears in her eyes and stood up to hug him.
"Will we see him someday, Madara? I hope we meet him again. He was the best animal companion we ever had," she said, deeply saddened at seeing her companion of the past months, who had become inseparable from her, simply leave like that.
"Eira deserved to find his mother, Ciri. We stayed with him already expecting this. I'm sorry if this seems cruel to you, but he also deserved to go with her..." Madara said, tightening his arms around his wife to comfort her.
"But yes, we will meet him one day. Maybe when he is older we can take him to Cintra. If he wants to, he can come with us. I'm sure his mother won't stop him. If he wants to stay there, I'm sure our child will love riding a unicorn," Madara smiled, while Ciri let out a small laugh despite her tears.
"That would be incredible," she said in a low tone.
Madara stayed there with Ciri for the rest of the day, comforting her. Nenneke appeared later, asking what had happened to the unicorns. She was startled when Madara ended up summoning Totó, their griffin, in the middle of the courtyard to try to help Ciri be comforted over the next few days, while asking the powerful animal not to take flight there and to remain only in the courtyard while he brought food for him.
Madara always summoned the griffin to see how he was doing. He did not want the chick he had found in Cintra when he was a Lord to die out there... He had become an adult griffin and a very capable mount in the skies. Despite being inferior to the summoning contract with the dragon, Madara cared more about Totó than about Ignavros. After all, the latter he did not even summon.
He would leave Totó at the temple during the next months of his wife's pregnancy, just to keep her company. The griffin did not protest, while Ciri could not stop hugging the neck of the giant eagle-headed creature with longing and affection.
Nenneke was frightened when she learned that a creature like that would be living in the courtyard, but Madara assured her that he would not harm anyone nor leave the place. Even so, this did not help much to calm her or the other priestesses who had access to the area, but as the days passed, seeing Ciri always clinging to him after training with Yennefer helped them get used to it.
In any case, Madara left the following day and returned to work in Novigrad over the next weeks. Now, he needed to deal with the next steps of his plan to destroy the demon, and his eyes turned even more toward the north. He was about to hunt a certain person sometime soon.
