The witch thought I am a Demon God-Chapter 522 - 305: Differential Demon Troops VS The Great Wall on the Sea! _3
But now that the Valji Family was burdened by the plague, this was less of a concern.
At the Transfer Port harbor, many pirates, sailors, smugglers, and civilians had gathered to watch Ivita and his crew set sail. Among them were a number of the Valji Family’s spies.
They engaged in fervent discussion.
"They’re really daring to head towards Cross Island. Do those guys have no fear of death?"
"It’s more peaceful to stay in Transfer Port."
"Peaceful? Are you even pirates anymore? What’s the point of being a pirate if you want peace? In my opinion, Ivita is the one who truly embodies a pirate’s spirit! Greedy! Shrewd! Powerful! Confident, upholding freedom!"
"Don’t hype him too much. Just in these few days at the harbor, we’ve all noticed, either intentionally or unintentionally, how he restrains his subordinates and sets strict rules. He’s not cut out to be a pirate, he doesn’t have that talent; he has brought new rules here. In my view, he’s a born rule-maker."
At Transfer Port, the pirates boasted and joked, speculating on the outcome of the war. They didn’t anticipate the unsettling shadows appearing behind them, figures not quite human.
Under the morning sun, a magnificent fleet sailed towards a vast whirlpool. The double eagle flag atop the ship’s mast fluttered vigorously, a sight to behold.
Captain Sam held a bottle of rum, singing loudly, "The Spring of Youth! Spring of Youth~ Here I come!"
"This is my first venture so deep into Cross Island waters!"
"Thank the God of all Things and Lord Ivita."
Those aboard the ship who knew the truth shared wary glances, shivering in fear.
Suddenly, someone aboard the ship cried out for everyone to look back.
Ivita looked, only to see plumes of smoke rising from the buildings at the harbor they had just left. The ships had been set on fire. In less than a day, someone had caused more destruction.
The entirety of Transfer Port was lit up by a hellish red glow.
Cannons rained down like a torrential storm on Transfer Port. Someone was laying siege!
Ivita quickly realized that the city was under attack, then he saw the monster-like figures outside the wall of Transfer Port. Their forms were more grotesque, larger, and covered in spikes.
They blotted out the sun, rushing towards the sea wall and causing massive tidal waves and typhoons, even threatening to capsize Ivita’s fleet.
Just glaring at one of those beings in the sky gave Ivita a staggering headache and a knot of terror in his heart.
Flagged on the tails of these creatures were the red cross on a white field symbols of the Republic of Belisarius.
Their identities were self-evident - they were Differential Demons.
The Republic of Belisarius had chosen to attack at this time!
Luckily, they set sail this morning. Had they lingered in Transfer Port, they would have been embroiled and incurred massive losses.
Staying in Transfer Port would definitely have spelled trouble.
His intuition was right.
Wilson said to Ivita, "Lord, it’s unexpected that the Republic of Belisarius would launch another attack."
Ivita stated, "it’s not unexpected, it’s very reasonable. The Republic of Belisarius has always had deep-rooted conflicts with the pirate world."
"And now that the pirate world is hit by a plague, it is quite logical for the Republic of Belisarius to decide to strike."
Wilson expressed some worry. "Will this impact our conquest?"
Ivita scoffed.
What is there to fear? They would block any incoming soldiers and weather any storm. He owed a substantial debt to the National Bank, the Republic of Belisarius’ highest institution. Would those bankers dare to offend a major customer?
