Chapter 362: Chapter 284: Unworthy of My Use (3)

Luna was washing perilla leaves, the clay pot simmering with rice, filling the air with a rich aroma.

She looked up at the words, "How about braised lamb chops? We just picked some wild onions and perilla."

Rhys Blackwood appeared at some point, walked to the stone slab, picked up a kitchen knife, and began slicing the lamb.

The firelight reflected on his cold, chiseled profile, as if coating an ice sculpture with a warm hue.

Corbin Crowley wasn’t idle either, squatting outside the shed peeling beans.

Zeke Veridian quietly tended the fire, its light turning his cheeks red, with strands of hair sticking to his sweat-dampened forehead.

Soren Phoenix and Kian Sterling, both habitual slackers, stood on either side of Luna, one wiping her sweat, the other fanning her.

Luna rolled her eyes and said helplessly, "Can you two not crowd around me? If you’re really that free, go peel some garlic."

Soren Phoenix raised an eyebrow, momentarily pausing the hand fanning motion, "Such a cold heart, little Luna~"

Despite his words, he obediently squatted in the corner to peel garlic.

Kian Sterling chuckled, his ten fox tails entwining and curling around her, "Luna, how much garlic do you need?"

One of his tails flicked, and the garlic bulbs in the wicker basket flew into his palm.

"Just enough for cooking."

Luna replied without looking up, moving on from washing perilla to washing mushrooms.

Busy as bees, dinner was finally ready.

The braised rock mutton was tender, infused with perilla. The charcoal-grilled venison leg glistened with an amber oil sheen.

There was also spicy stir-fried pork belly, spicy diced wild rabbit, stir-fried beans, stone pot stewed mixed fish, and a rich fragrant mushroom chicken soup.

Six dishes and a soup, each in large portions, accompanied by fragrant rice, looked incredibly tempting.

"Luna, try this."

Kian Sterling picked up a piece of venison and placed it in Luna’s bowl, while his fox tails entangled around her leg under the table.

Soren Phoenix’s peach blossom eyes squinted, quickly handing over a bowl of soup, "The wild mushroom chicken soup is the most nourishing~"

Corbin Crowley’s chopsticks suddenly positioned between the two of them, "Aren’t you going to eat?"

Malachi Arcanus seized the opportunity to drag the whole plate of spicy rabbit cubes in front of Luna, "Little Luna’s favorite!"

Luna held her head, her appetite waning, and she placed her chopsticks on the table with a snap.

Starting with Corbin Crowley, she pointed at them one by one, "You, Ice Face, stop blocking the food. You, nosy phoenix, spilled soup on my hand. And you—"

She suddenly grabbed Kian Sterling’s wildly swaying fox tail, "Wrap around my leg one more time and I’ll pluck you bald."

Rhys Blackwood silently pushed the deboned grilled fish to her.

Zeke Veridian sneered, "Stop pretending to be a nice guy."

With a flash of Wind Blade, the fish head landed precisely in Luna’s bowl.

"Everyone calm down for a moment!"

Luna couldn’t stand it anymore and slapped the table, "If you don’t eat properly, don’t come to the table next time."

Everyone instantly quieted like chickens, silently eating their food.

After the meal, the six Beast Husbands quietly cleaned up the dishes, not daring to approach her.

Luna snorted coldly, feeling that her ears were finally at peace.

She lifted her foot and walked out of the shed, intending to go out for some fresh air.

A system voice suddenly echoed in her mind, "Host, Caleb Manning is back, currently watching you secretly from a nearby ancient tree. He left to meet Chloe Callahan secretly, fearing you’d get angry, and now doesn’t dare to show himself."

Her footsteps paused instantly, and she glanced at the ancient tree not far away.

In the twilight, a shadow could be seen hiding among the dense leaves.

She deliberately turned and walked towards the lake, her skirt brushing the grass with a rustling sound.

The lake water shimmered silver under the moonlight, and she squatted down, pretending to wash her hands, while actually observing through the water’s reflection.

Caleb Manning had indeed followed quietly, landing on the fallen leaves without making a sound.

"Decided to come back, have you?"

She suddenly stood up, turned around to face him, and shook the water droplets from her hands.

Caleb Manning’s body stiffened slightly, seemingly not expecting her to notice.

Standing in silence for a moment, he then stepped forward, his golden eyes glowing faintly in the dark.

"I went to The Winged Tiger Tribe." 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺

Caleb Manning confessed directly, his Adam’s apple bobbing, "I accidentally heard that rumors were spreading that she possesses a treasure that helps Beastmen break through evolution. With the fear of ’possessing a treasured jade puts a crime on one’s back’, I worried she was in danger. I left without your permission, so I ask for your punishment."

After speaking, he knelt on one knee in front of her, appearing ready to accept whatever punishment she decided to give.

Luna lowered her gaze at him, her face expressionless as she coldly said, "Punishment? Why should I punish you? If you can’t let go of her, then go. Someone like you as a Guardian, I don’t need."
