Chapter 33: Chapter 33: Building a Stove

The barrel can hold about 20 liters of water and has handles for carrying. The inside and outside are polished very smoothly and look quite nice.

There are two of them, both the same size.

The basin is relatively shallow, with one large and one small. The large one can be used for bathing and washing clothes, while the small one is for washing vegetables and faces.

Similarly polished smooth, each side of the rim has a protrusion like an ear, making it easier to grip.

"Did you make this?"

Luna Sutton looked at Kian Sterling in surprise, not expecting him to act so quickly. He only mentioned wanting barrels and basins last night, and they were ready today.

Moreover, they looked quite good.

Kian nodded, making a sound of acknowledgment in response to her question.

He didn’t ask if they were suitable, as he had already worn out his fox paws making these barrels and basins and didn’t want to make them again.

His gaze fell on her waist, pausing slightly.

Why does it seem like she lost a lot of weight overnight?

Especially around her waist, the excess fat was gone, revealing some curves.

Although she’s still quite fat overall, about twice the size of other females, it’s obvious at a glance that she’s slimmer.

He blinked thoughtfully, recalling last night’s conversation at the Tribal Square, where Corbin Crowley said Luna Sutton was going to lose 50 pounds in a month.

He just laughed it off as a joke at the time and didn’t take it seriously.

After all, losing weight isn’t easy, let alone losing 50 pounds in a month. How is that possible?

Unexpectedly, she really slimmed down, and overnight at that. He wondered how she managed it.

Kian didn’t ask her how she lost the weight; he wasn’t concerned about such things.

Instead, he handed her the roast meat he brought, "Uh... you haven’t eaten yet this morning, right? I just grilled this.

Luna Sutton looked at the roast meat handed over, the aroma making her stomach crave it.

All she had in the morning were two wild fruits, and after working all morning, she had long since digested them.

She subconsciously swallowed her saliva, wanting to eat.

But remembering her resolve to lose weight, she resisted the urge to take it.

Last night at the Tribal Square, she ate that piece of roast meat in front of Corbin Crowley to deliberately spite that dog of a man.

Her mouth enjoyed it, but her heart was full of regret. Eating such a large piece of roast meat meant wasting a day of hunger and labor.

Though she wanted it, the revolution hadn’t succeeded yet, and she needed to keep fighting to lose weight.

She stared at the roast meat and hesitated for a while, then gritted her teeth and said, "Uh, Kian, I had wild fruits this morning, I’m not hungry."

No sooner had she spoken than her stomach protested loudly, "Gurgle, gurgle..."

Luna Sutton’s face stiffened, her toes awkwardly digging into the ground.

This stomach, calling out early nor late, just had to betray her now. Was it conspiring against her?

She sneaked a glance at Kian only to see his lips curling up as he looked at her with a playful smile.

Her face turned beet red, as red as a monkey’s bottom, and she lowered her head, counting the ants on the ground in embarrassment.

She pondered how to diffuse the awkwardness.

Kian also knew she wasn’t really not hungry, just trying to lose weight by refusing to eat. Compared to before, being able to do this was already quite admirable.

He smiled faintly, refraining from tempting her with the roast meat, and just said in a soft voice, "If you’re not hungry, then let’s leave it for later, eat when you’re hungry."

Luna Sutton took another glance at Kian, relieved to see his calm demeanor.

The redness on her face faded somewhat, and it wasn’t so awkward anymore.

If it had been any of the other beast husbands, they’d probably mock her harshly. She thought Kian was indeed a good person, much better compared to the other four.

Kian had no idea what she was thinking. Seeing her humble demeanor, he was moved.

He suddenly realized that Luna Sutton had changed significantly. Her personality was becoming more pleasant, though still unattractive, yet much better than before.

His eyes glimmered slightly, but he said nothing, just calmly remarked, "Didn’t you say you wanted to build a stove? Let’s go, while we have the time, I’ll help you set it up."

Luna Sutton was about to respond when a system prompt sounded in her mind: "Host, Kian’s favorability increased by 10 points, now at -20. Keep it up."

Hearing the system’s voice, she was taken aback.

Kian’s favorability increased by 10 points?

She looked at Kian in astonishment.

Could it be because the unsightly fat on her waist disappeared, combined with her refusal of his roast meat showing her determination to lose weight?

Is that why the favorability went up?

But then she thought, even if it goes up, it’s still negative, isn’t it?

What’s the difference between -20 and -30? They both mean he dislikes her.

Luna Sutton sighed internally, not bothering too much about it.

She collected her thoughts and smiled at Kian, "Sure, let’s set up the stove to the left of the cave entrance; it’s more spacious there."

Kian nodded, having no objections.

They stepped out of the cave and got busy.

Luna Sutton cleared out the left side of the cave entrance, pulling out weeds and having Kian move the rocks away, making space to set up the stove.

"Kian, could you find some moderately sized stones, remember to get them as flat as possible and similar in size. They’ll be used for building the stove. Also, find a larger stone, slightly flat, which I plan to use as a countertop."

She glanced at Kian and instructed.

Though Kian didn’t fully understand, he followed her directions and went searching for stones.

After a small half hour.

Kian brought a pile of stones back, moderately sized and looking quite flat.

There was also a large, flat stone, and who knows where he found it from.

She didn’t ask much.

In this beast world, apart from trees, there are mountains and stones everywhere, so it’s easy to find them.

Looking at the stones, she was fairly satisfied.

"Kian, could you help stack these stones by size, with the large ones at the bottom and smaller ones on top, forming a platform shape?"

Seeing that he might not understand, Luna Sutton gestured with her hands.

Then, she pointed at the large, flat stone and continued, "Place this stone on top as the countertop."

Though Kian didn’t fully grasp it, he found it curious how Luna Sutton knew so much.

But he didn’t question, just followed her instructions.

They spent the whole morning until they finally finished building the stove.

Lastly, a stone pot was placed on top.

A simple stove was considered complete.

Luna Sutton looked at the stove in front of her, fairly satisfied.

Although simple, this stove was the first thing she built with her own hands in this world, giving her a small sense of accomplishment.

However, it would be best to reinforce it with mud or clay to prevent it from collapsing.

Not just any mud or clay would do; it needed to be sticky and firm. She wasn’t sure where to find this kind of mud.

This wasn’t urgent; she could look for it slowly.

"Ding, host, Kian’s favorability increased by 10 points, now at -10. Keep it up."

At this moment, the system prompt sounded again in her mind.

She heard the system’s message, her brows lightly raised.

Already at -10?

Not bad, not bad; just need another 10 points to reach zero.

Looking at the marinated pork innards in the stone pot from last night, she glanced at Kian sideways and grinned, "Kian, thanks for helping build the stove. Let’s not grill meat for lunch; I’ll make something delicious for you that you’ll surely crave for more."

She planned to make stir-fried pig intestines and use culinary skill to win Kian over, hoping to raise those 10 points.

Although there were no chili peppers, her cooking skills were decent.

The taste shouldn’t be too bad.

Kian, hearing her mention cooking something delicious, immediately glanced at the marinated pig intestines in the stone pot, his mouth twitching hard.

His eyes held a peculiar look as he faced her, disdainfully asking, "The delicious thing you’re talking about is wild boar intestines?"
