The Wicked Female Is Wild and Scheming, Living in a Love Battlefield Every Day-Chapter 260 - 229: Swift Battle, Swift Victory (Part 2)
Corbin Crowley’s words made Rhys Blackwood’s eyes instantly deepen.
Malachi Arcanus, hearing this, became intrigued, "How can this matter exclude me? I’m going too."
Though he may be unrestrained, he has always been committed to matters concerning his companions.
Kian Sterling stood in the nearby tree, listening to their conversation, a hint of hesitation flashing through his beautiful fox eyes.
His clan, Mount Veridia, was just in Aetheria, and as a member of The Fox Clan, should he follow Corbin Crowley and Rhys Blackwood to attack The Aethel Serpent Clan, it might bring trouble to Mount Veridia.
The relationships between races in Aetheria are complicated, pulling one trigger may cause a chain reaction.
Yet if he doesn’t go, he would seem too cold-blooded and heartless, lacking camaraderie.
His heart was in a dilemma, unable to decide quickly.
Rhys Blackwood seemed to notice Kian Sterling’s difficulty. He turned his head towards the hidden spot where Kian Sterling was and said in a deep voice, "Kian, you don’t need to come. This is a grudge between me and The Aethel Serpent Clan, it’s unrelated to you. Besides, Mount Veridia is in Aetheria, and it’s not convenient for you to act, lest you cause trouble for yourself."
Kian Sterling listened with a growing sense of discomfort, "Rhys, what are you saying? We’re rivals in love, but we’re also family and companions. How could I stay out of it?"
He did want to stay out of it, but doing so would make him seem indifferent.
After all, just yesterday Malachi Arcanus brought him a Dragon Whisker Whale Beast Pill.
Emotionally and rationally, he should go along.
Kian Sterling leapt down from the tree, his ten fox tails extending behind him, glowing softly under the moonlight. "Alright, let’s settle this swiftly."
Corbin Crowley’s silver eyes flashed briefly, eyebrows raised, "Not worried about bringing trouble to Veridia?"
Kian Sterling chuckled softly, "I have my ways to leave no trace."
Rhys Blackwood nodded, transforming instantly into his Aethel Serpent True Form, and in a flash, he soared into the air, "Let’s go, try to return before dawn."
Malachi Arcanus jumped onto Rhys Blackwood’s back and sat, his face bearing a carefree smile, "Hahaha, people ride dragons; I ride Aethel Serpents, quite interesting indeed."
Before the words fell.
Rhys Blackwood suddenly swooped down, almost throwing him off.
Corbin Crowley spread his bone wings, soaring into the sky, carrying Kian Sterling as they carved a brilliant arc in the night sky.
Kian Sterling stood atop Corbin Crowley’s back, his ten tails extending in the air, eyes lowered as he stared at Corbin Crowley ferrying him through the night sky, a cold glint in his fox eyes fleetingly.
Several times he considered using his fox tails to strangle his opponent’s neck.
But thinking if he truly acted on such an impulse, he might find himself abandoned by all.
Even Luna might not understand him.
Such thoughts in mind, he restrained this impulse.
...
Zeke Veridian by the distant lakeside seemed to sense something, turning his face, flushed, towards them.
Luna Sutton, head down and hard at work, noticed Zeke Veridian’s gaze, her watery eyes glanced at him, voice hoarse, "What’s up?"
Zeke Veridian’s eyes lightly flashed, his voice husky, "Nothing, let’s continue."
Saying this, he gripped her waist tightly with both hands, instantly reversing their positions, turning passive to active.
Noticing Luna enjoys wildness, he instantly felt like his meridians had opened, understanding blossoming in all.
Certainly, he wasn’t going to be cautious, timid like a fool...
What if Luna wasn’t satisfied and, down the line, didn’t wish to be close to him anymore?
Naturally, he exerted all his abilities to make her comfortable.
As for where Corbin Crowley and the others were headed, he didn’t have a mind to think about that now; it was long tossed aside.
After the storm, Zeke Veridian was satisfied, so was Luna Sutton.
Internally she mused, men indeed need training.
See? Isn’t this perfect?
Luna Sutton was drenched in white sweat, her face rosy, eyes glistening with water.
Just as she was about to wash in the lake, the system’s voice sounded in her ear.
"Ding, congratulations to the host for successfully consummating with Zeke Veridian, reward of one Rebound Talisman, which has been placed in the system’s backpack; please check it later."
"Ding, congratulations to the host, Zeke Veridian’s affection increased by 10, currently at 95, deep affection rewarded, Cause and Effect Bracelet awarded, one Realm of True Heart, one Memory Sewing Knife, all automatically dispatched to the host’s system backpack."
Luna Sutton was puzzled by the series of prompts in her mind, wondering, "Cause and Effect Bracelet? Realm of True Heart? Memory Sewing Knife? What are these things?"
She knew the Rebound Talisman could bounce back Celestia Fawkes’ curse.
But how exactly to use it, she still needed to ask the system.
Walking toward the lakeside, she asked the system in her mind, "System, what are these rewards for?"
The system chuckled, "The Cause and Effect Bracelet can connect the host’s fate with a chosen person, living or dying together, if one gets hurt, the other can bear half of the damage. The Realm of True Heart can reveal hearts, detecting others’ true affections towards the host. As for the Memory Sewing Knife... it can sever or modify others’ memories."
Luna Sutton was surprised, joy flashing through her eyes.
Though these rewards seemed useless, they might serve unexpectedly in crucial moments.
Her foot slipped, nearly plunging into the lake.
Zeke Veridian responded quickly, catching her, his emerald eyes full of concern, "Careful."
"I’m alright."
She waved her hand, and continued questioning the system, "How to use the Rebound Talisman? Celestia Fawkes will cast the curse the day after tomorrow."
"It’s simple,"
The system explained, "Before the night of the full moon, affix the talisman to the doll inscribed with your name. But—"
"But what?"
Luna Sutton asked in her mind while washing.
"You need to find that doll first."
The system added, "The talisman must be affixed before the curse is cast to be effective."
Luna Sutton frowned, Lark Vance merely mentioned seeing the doll but didn’t say where it was hidden...
However, it’s likely in the hands of The Phoenix Clan’s Great Shaman Ignis Fawkes.
Does that mean she’ll secretly need to infiltrate the Great Witch’s quarters of The Phoenix Clan?
Suddenly, she felt a headache, The Phoenix Clan is a formidable entity, attempting to sneak in unnoticed is not easy.
Considering using the Invisibility Cloak...
She was stirred at heart, immediately stepping out of the lake, bending to collect the scattered Beast Skin Skirt on the shore.
"Zeke Veridian, you must take me to The Phoenix Clan now."
She looked up at Zeke Veridian who was already clean, suddenly speaking.
Upon hearing Luna Sutton wishing to go to The Phoenix Clan, Zeke Veridian’s eyebrows furrowed tightly.
He had spent the day outside, only venturing to the cave to fetch Luna Sutton at night, hence wasn’t aware of the curse.
Now learning Luna wants to go to The Phoenix Clan, he felt exceedingly puzzled.
