The Wicked Female Is Wild and Scheming, Living in a Love Battlefield Every Day-Chapter 243 - 220: All Things Possess Spirit
Mael Valerius’s figure had just disappeared into the sky.
Corbin Crowley suddenly staggered, his face pale as he stumbled forward.
Rhys Blackwood grabbed him by the collar, feeling sticky blood on his fingertips, and frowned, "Why try to act tough?"
Zeke Veridian tore open Corbin Crowley’s blood-stained shirt, revealing a gruesome wound with edges so ragged that bone was visible.
Malachi Arcanus furrowed his brows tightly, "Do you even realize you’ve pierced your rib gap, you fool?"
"Luna..."
He reached out hoarsely, trying to grasp her skirt hem, causing Luna Sutton to instinctively step back.
This action made Corbin Crowley’s pupils contract violently, and suddenly, he coughed up blood foam.
Malachi Arcanus rushed over to steady him by the shoulder, glaring at the retreating Luna Sutton, his angry roar echoing through the canyon, "Why are you avoiding? Can’t you see how he is? If this continues, even I’ll get angry."
She was momentarily stunned by the shouting, staring blankly at Malachi Arcanus.
With a grim face, Malachi Arcanus glared at the bewildered Luna Sutton, "Yes, I admit Corbin is at fault; he shouldn’t have forced you about feeding, but he wasn’t particularly harsh. He was just upset because you kicked the cubs, assuming you didn’t like them, which is why his attitude was bad."
He wiped his face harshly, "Maybe he wasn’t gentle or considerate enough, and he didn’t understand your vulnerability after giving birth. But, in the end, he did nothing to really harm you, just had a poor attitude at most. Your sudden change in appearance caught us all off guard; we had no clue what happened. Not only was Corbin bewildered, but we were too."
With a deep frown, he continued, "We understand if you didn’t want to see us and wanted to hide. When we heard you were captured by The Mad Dragon in Aetheria, we rushed to save you, even risking our lives to cross The Endless Sea."
At this point, he nearly spat fire with his gaze, "And what about you? You didn’t do anything to that Mad Dragon; instead, you were affectionate and even considered taking him as your sixth Beast Husband. He broke three of Kian Sterling’s tails—what about your heart? I don’t understand how you can be so comfortable being affectionate with him."
Malachi Arcanus’s eyes held disappointment, "What about the three newly born wolf cubs and eight snake eggs? Did you think about them? They’re pieces of your flesh, flowing with your blood. And the leader, do you know he’s so worried he can’t sleep? Do you know we’re frantically searching for you everywhere?" 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
"You never considered any of this. To us, that Mad Dragon seems more important than us, more important than your cubs and father. Do you even have a heart?"
By the end, Malachi Arcanus’s voice was nearly a shout.
His eyes were slightly red, his voice carrying a touch of grievance.
Rhys Blackwood and Zeke Veridian had complex expressions, remaining silent.
But inside, there was undoubtedly a feeling of blame.
They had gone to great lengths to reach Aetheria to find her, only to be met with this result, surely feeling discomfort in their hearts.
Luna Sutton’s eardrums were painful from the series of shouts.
In the twilight, Malachi Arcanus’s reddened eyes were like branding irons, making her whole body tremble.
His words were like cold water poured overhead, making her stagger back.
She looked at the bloody hole in Corbin Crowley’s chest and suddenly thought of the three wolf cubs and eight snake eggs left in the tribe.
Neither the three wolf cubs nor the eight snake eggs—
Since giving birth, she hadn’t cared for them, nor had they tasted a drop of her milk.
She even kicked the three cubs wanting milk aside.
What was she doing? When did she become so cold-hearted?
Even if Corbin was at fault, the cubs were innocent.
And then there was the back mountain of The Wolf Tribe.
Her father’s desperate search for her, those sorrowful calls: "Luna...Father is here to take you home..."
Luna Sutton’s face turned pale, and she staggered again, overwhelmed with sudden guilt and extreme distress.
When she looked up at Malachi Arcanus, her eyes were already teary: "You’re right to scold me. I truly have no heart and am even unworthy to be a matron."
Tears blurred her vision, quietly falling from the corners of her eyes.
Thinking back to when she first arrived, she looked down on her original self, tried to clear her name, and strived to change how she was seen by others in the tribe.
Now everything had improved. The tribe people liked her, and she was becoming more beautiful—so why was her mindset not as good as before?
What did it matter if the task’s failure made her ugly?
When she first crossed over, wasn’t she just as ugly and disgusting?
Didn’t she still make it through at that time?
Why couldn’t she accept it later?
The twilight laced with the scent of blood crept over the valley.
Corbin Crowley suddenly struggled to stand, "Who gave you the right to talk about yourself like that?"
