Chapter 239: Chapter 217: Arrival (Part 2)

Catching a glimpse of Mael Valerius’ tense jawline, Luna chuckled softly, "Let this dragon revert to its original form and be your steed."

Mael Valerius’ dark golden eyes narrowed slightly, "Why should I need someone else to offer if Luna wishes to ride a dragon?"

His gaze fell on their intertwined fingers, finding it an eyesore, discreetly pulling them apart.

Then he pulled her into his embrace, wrapping an arm possessively around her waist.

Kian Sterling’s eyes darkened slightly, gently hooked his finger in Luna Sutton’s palm, and his lips curved into an indistinct smile, "Luna, you’ll wait for me."

With that, he turned and leapt into the Sacred Pool. Seven fox tails flickered through the swirling violet mist.

The pool water instantly boiled, and the purple glow intensified. Numerous ancient runes floated up from the bottom, entwining around his body.

Kian Sterling sat cross-legged at the pool’s bottom, his seven tails spreading like a lotus. The snowy fur shimmered with an eerie luster under the purple light.

As all the descendants of The Fox Clan entered, the Sacred Pool slowly closed.

Outside the Sacred Pool, Mael Valerius leaned down close to Luna Sutton’s ear, his voice deep, "Luna, the Sacred Pool’s baptism takes three days. Let me take you around first. Aetheria’s sights are marvelous and there are many delightful places to explore."

Luna Sutton was about to reply.

Suddenly, a voice echoed in her mind, "Host, Corbin Crowley, Rhys Blackwood, Zeke Veridian, and Malachi Arcanus have successfully crossed The Endless Sea and reached Aetheria. They’ll likely come looking for you soon, and they’ve all found fortune and evolved on their journey, now they’re each extremely formidable."

She froze for a moment, having learned just how perilous The Endless Sea was later on.

She had heard of the countless High-Ranked Sea Beasts and fierce gales inside; if not careful, one could be swept away without knowing where.

The last time the system showed her the scene, Corbin and the others looked pitiful, as if they were going to perish in The Endless Sea.

How did they suddenly encounter fortune and evolution?

She blinked, hastily asking in her heart, "System, what’s this all about?"

The system bounced with excitement in her mind, "Corbin returned to his ancestor form as the Ancient Silver Moon Wolf, Rhys awakened his Aethel Serpent True Form, Zeke evolved into the Celestial Moon-chaser Wolf, and each broke through to the Eighth Rank. Only the foolish Malachi didn’t evolve and is stuck at the Seventh Rank Peak, haha..."

She suddenly laughed out loud, drawing a puzzled raise of Mael Valerius’ brow.

Gently flicking her forehead, his voice was pleasantly low, "What’s Luna laughing about?"

"Oh, nothing. Weren’t you saying you wanted to take me around? Let’s go now."

Suddenly pulling Mael Valerius, Luna Sutton bolted towards the outskirts of Mount Veridia.

She hadn’t decided how to face them yet, planning to hide for a bit.

Why hide, she didn’t quite know herself.

Perhaps it was lingering resentment towards Corbin’s past roughness.

Though puzzled, seeing her enthusiasm, Mael Valerius didn’t inquire further.

With her, he transformed into a streak of light, disappearing from Mount Veridia in an instant.

...

Under the sunset’s fading light, blood-red waves crashed against the black rocks.

Corbin Crowley retracted his silver wings, as four figures landed on the unfamiliar coastline.

The humid sea breeze, heavy with Spiritual Energy, rushed toward them.

Malachi Arcanus took a deep breath, his skin pores opening up, "So this is Aetheria? The Spiritual Energy is over ten times denser than in The Lower Domain."

Zeke Veridian’s emerald eyes scanned the distant, sprawling mountains, speaking softly, "Corbin, Rhys, you two should first sense Luna’s position."

Corbin Crowley and Rhys Blackwood both closed their eyes, carefully sensing Luna Sutton’s current location.

Upon reopening their eyes, their expressions turned extremely unpleasant. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞

The position they sensed was in the air and weaving swiftly at that.

No need to guess who was flying around with Luna—it had to be that Mad Dragon.

"Did you sense anything? Why do you look like you’ve eaten shit?"

Malachi took a handful of seawater to wash his face, noticing their expressions, grumbling irritably.

Zeke’s mouth twitched, promptly kicking Malachi, "Can you be more civilized? Next time you go on about shit, I’ll really smear some on your face."

Malachi dodged Zeke’s kick quickly, teasing, "Is civilization edible? I mean..."

Before he could finish speaking, a sudden commotion arose from a distance.

Five Beastmen appeared suddenly, the leading Beastman’s eyes fixed directly on Rhys Blackwood, full of curiosity, "Aethel Serpent?"

Corbin Crowley stood protectively in front, his silver wings slightly spread.

The leading Beastman waved a hand, showing a friendly smile, "No need to be tense. I’m Liam Rivera from The Myriad Tribe. It’s rare to see an Aethel Serpent with such pure lineage, hence my surprise."

He was indeed wondering, wasn’t the Aethel Serpent Clan residing at Nine-Serpent Mountain? That’s far from here, how did one end up in The Endless Sea?

Behind him, a female clad in animal skins curiously peeked out, "Big brother, are these the Beastmen from The Lower Domain who’ve crossed The Endless Sea?"

Her gaze couldn’t help but sweep over the four, finally lingering on Corbin Crowley, "Such beautiful silver wings, such a handsome Beastman..."

The other three were also quite good-looking, each with their own unique charm; what if they could all become her Beast Husbands?

Liam Rivera lightly coughed, breaking his sister’s line of sight, and courteously clasped his hands, "You’re new to Aetheria, I assume you’re unfamiliar here. Our Myriad Clan is very hospitable, how about you join us at our tribe for a quick rest?"

Corbin was about to refuse.

Zeke discreetly tugged Corbin’s sleeve, then asked, "Could you tell us how far it is to Mount Veridia?"

Might as well inquire about the old fox’s whereabouts.

Hearing this, a trace of surprise flashed in Liam Rivera’s eyes. He ran his gaze over the four, "Mount Veridia is thirty thousand miles from here. Are you heading to the Fox Clan territory?"

Zeke’s eyes slightly flickered, keeping an impassive face, "We have a friend there. We intend to inquire about her."

Liam Rivera nodded thoughtfully, then smiled, "I see. The Veridia festival just concluded. I heard there was quite a commotion from a Seven-Tailed Fox."

Pausing deliberately, he continued, "It’s said that Seven-Tailed Fox even competed with the Dragon Clan Young Master over a female, and it’s been the talk among many Beastmen."

Corbin Crowley’s silver eyes narrowed slightly, "Dragon Clan Young Master?"

Rhys Blackwood frowned, unable to resist asking, "May I ask who the female they were contesting is?"

Seeing the four’s sudden tense expressions, Liam Rivera found it odd but still answered truthfully, "I heard she’s a true beauty, though not a female of The Fox Clan, but a female wolf. Her name hasn’t spread, though."

The sunset stained the sea amber, Corbin Crowley, Rhys Blackwood, Zeke Veridian, and Malachi Arcanus exchanged glances. Hearing that the female was a stunning beauty made them uncertain if it was Luna after all.

"Thank you for the information."

Corbin Crowley nodded slightly toward Liam Rivera, then proceeded with Rhys Blackwood, Zeke Veridian, and Malachi Arcanus toward the direction where they sensed Luna Sutton.

Though the position kept shifting, eventually, they would come to a stop.
