Chapter 226: Chapter 209: Fury

Luna wrapped herself in the Invisibility Cloak, hiding in the bushes. The screeches of the Fire Phoenix and the roars of dragons grew closer, making her heart pound wildly with nerves.

Thankfully, she had the Invisibility Cloak. If she got caught, who knew how terrible her fate might be?

"You wretched female, come out! You can’t escape!"

Celestia Fawkes’s voice was sharp and angry, piercing through the forest, "That’s Corvus’s scale and his scent; I recognized it instantly."

"Not coming out? Fine, very well..."

Celestia’s face twisted with jealousy, and she said coldly, "Hera Fawkes, burn this entire forest down for me. How dare they touch my fiancé—"

Before she could finish, she was suddenly stopped by an elder from the Torch Dragon clan.

"Miss Fawkes, watch your words."

The Dragon Clan elite surveyed her coldly, "The Young Master has never acknowledged this engagement."

Celestia’s face darkened further, and she snapped her whip through the air with a crack, "So, he acknowledges this wretched female then?"

The Dragon Clan Elder frowned, his dark golden pupils scanning the dense forest, "Miss Fawkes, our Young Master is missing. Our priority is to find him."

"Finding him is the priority?" 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

Celestia sneered, looking at the blood-soaked forest below, "Then, I’ll help your Dragon Clan—search thoroughly."

Before her words could fade, nine Fire Phoenixes took to the sky, their flaming tail feathers falling like meteors and setting the forest ablaze in an instant.

Luna, wrapped in the Invisibility Cloak, watched this scene, completely shocked.

Oh god, is this woman insane? Does she want to burn down the entire forest?

The waves of fire swept through the forest, smoke shrouding half the sky.

Luna curled up under the Invisibility Cloak as the heat waves seared her skin.

The Invisibility Cloak could only hide her, not shield her from the heat.

"Lunatic..."

She cursed through gritted teeth and, wrapped in the Invisibility Cloak, dashed out of the bushes, running swiftly.

If she didn’t run now, she feared being burned to death.

Thankfully, wrapped in the Invisibility Cloak, no one could see her.

The Dragon Clan Elder’s face darkened as the dragon’s head emerged from his neck, his mouth wide open, instantly clouding the sky with dark clouds, lightning, and thunder, bringing down a torrential storm.

The pouring rain extinguished the fire in an instant.

Celestia’s face grew uglier, glaring fiercely at the silver-haired elder. Her fingertips almost dug into her palms, "Elder, what are you implying? Could it be you plan to shelter those Lower Domain peasants?"

"Miss Fawkes, if you destroy this forest..."

The elder’s gaze swept over the winding trails of black blood on the ground, "The clues left by the Young Master might be completely lost."

Dragon majesty, along with the storm, pressed down branches, scattering dew drops.

He raised his hand to signal his men to spread out and search, "Alive, we must see the person; dead, we must see the corpse."

The elite of the Dragon Clan leaped from the dragon’s back and began a carpet search.

Three Torch Dragons hovered in the air, morphed into human form, and descended to search in all directions.

Celestia stomped her foot in frustration but couldn’t continue to set the forest on fire, so she ordered the Phoenix Clan Beastmen to join in the search.

As the Phoenix Clan Beastmen landed, Luna had already slipped into a mountain crevice with the Invisibility Cloak.

This crevice was long and winding, pitch-black, without a hint of light. Though her system backpack contained a flashlight, she dared not use it now.

She planned to hide inside for a while until they were gone before coming out.

Just as she hid inside,

"Ding! System repair complete~"

A cheerful electronic voice exploded in her mind, startling Luna nearly out of her skin.

"You still have the nerve to show up?"

Realizing it was the pesky system, she cursed it inwardly through gritted teeth, sneering coldly, "Weren’t you supposed to hibernate for three months?"

"The hibernation program was forcibly interrupted~"

The system’s voice was apologetic, "Please don’t be angry, host. I was attacked by a rogue plugin, and I’ve been self-repairing all this time."

Luna curled up with the Invisibility Cloak in the crevice, sneering inwardly, "Keep making up your stories."

She now didn’t believe a single word the pesky system said.

"It’s true!"

The system suddenly projected a garbled video, "Look, it’s this virus that forced me into hibernation."

Luna glared at the garbled video in front of her with a cold smile, "Stop with the tricks. I don’t believe a word you’re saying now."

For all she knew, it was the pesky system putting on a double act, trying to trick her into continuing the quests.

She tore off the Invisibility Cloak, shaking off the rainwater, sneering inwardly, "This body was clearly hexed, and yet you deliberately concealed it from me, offering beauty as a reward to trick me into fulfilling tasks."

Her voice was filled with rage, "Damn pesky system, do you know how miserable you’ve made me? If I had known from the start that the original host wasn’t ugly at all, but actually stunning, merely under a hex, I never would have bothered with any quests, nor bonded with you."
