The Wicked Female Is Wild and Scheming, Living in a Love Battlefield Every Day-Chapter 192 - 186: Foot Washing (Part 2)
A sudden voice popped into my mind, with a particularly cheerful and bright tone, really easy to startle someone.
"Slow down."
Zeke Veridian frowned as he handed over a clean piece of beast skin, his emerald green eyes clear like glass under the firelight, "Why are you eating so fast? No one’s stealing from you."
The tone was disdainful, yet the gesture was gentle.
"Cough... thanks." 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
She took the beast skin and wiped the corner of her mouth, catching a glimpse of Zeke Veridian quickly withdrawing his hand, his fingertips quivering, and an inexplicable, suspicious blush coloring his cool and handsome face, adding a touch of allure.
Under the flicker of the firelight, he appeared incredibly handsome, like a lotus atop a snowy mountain suddenly in full bloom.
Luna Sutton stared somewhat entranced, her eyes flickering before quickly averting her gaze.
Zeke Veridian’s looks could definitely rival any of them, just that his temperament was different, belonging to the cool and indifferent type.
He was like an Immortal Monarch from a mythical story.
An unexpected thought crossed her mind, maybe she should take Zeke Veridian along for cultivation; perhaps he might ascend to immortality in the future.
Though, she wasn’t sure if Zeke Veridian had a spirit root...
Of course, this was just a thought, whether or not to let Zeke Veridian follow her in cultivation could be decided later.
The night deepened as the dew thickened.
The venison in Zeke Veridian’s bowl was already finished, and it was his third bowl.
He got up to place the bowl and chopsticks on the stove, scooped some water to wash his hands, then wiped them with clean beast skin, setting it aside.
"Leave the dishes, I’ll wash them when I get back."
He stepped towards the cave entrance and looked back, "I’ll report to the leader about The Salt Lake, you... sleep early."
The last three words were spoken so softly they almost blended into the night breeze.
Luna Sutton blinked, not having time to respond.
The green-clad figure had already disappeared into the night.
She gazed in the direction Zeke Veridian had gone, her fingers unconsciously rubbing the rim of the bowl, a slight smile on her lips: "This man really does run fast."
She had eaten her fill and had no intention of washing the dishes, tossing them into the pot, waiting for Zeke Veridian to return and wash them.
Jago wanted to wash the dishes, but Luna Sutton stopped him, waving her hand: "You’ve also had a long day, go rest early, someone will wash these."
This is how you should use men when you need to, or else they will end up using you.
Besides, she wanted to see if Zeke Veridian would truly wash them, or if it was just all talk.
Jago scratched his head, not understanding the subtleties, seeing his master’s insistence, he didn’t say more.
He obediently squatted outside the cave to keep watch.
When Zeke Veridian returned, it was already late, and he had changed into a new outfit.
He looked at the unwashed pile of dishes in the pot, with a layer of grease still floating on top.
Jago was squatting at the cave entrance dozing, snoring loudly enough to shake the heavens.
Inside the cave, vague sounds of movement could be heard, obviously disturbing his sleep.
Zeke Veridian frowned, rudely kicking Jago with his foot.
Jago was startled awake, rolling three meters away, seeing Zeke Veridian’s cold face with moonlight reflecting off his emerald eyes, he immediately choked back his snores.
"Wash the dishes and utensils in the pot."
He coldly pointed to the stone pot beside him.
How could Jago dare refuse? He hurried up to wash the dishes.
"Keep it down, don’t wake her."
Zeke Veridian coldly added.
Jago nodded vigorously, not even daring to splash the water.
Zeke Veridian listened intently to the sounds inside the cave, ensuring that Luna Sutton wasn’t awoken, he instructed Jago to be cautious at night and sought him out if anything happened, then quickly left.
...
Next morning, by the riverside.
Luna Sutton was stacking air-dried clay bodies into the kiln, Jago was panting as he fed firewood into the furnace.
Suddenly a shadow loomed over, and out of nowhere, Zeke Veridian was standing behind her, his emerald eyes staring intently at the neatly arranged pottery in the kiln.
"Working with such a big belly, don’t you want the child inside?"
His cold voice was strained with anger, startling Jago, who dropped the firewood with a crackle, sending a shower of sparks into the hearth.
Luna Sutton didn’t raise her head, on tiptoe placing the last little clay pot into the kiln: "Good timing, help me move the top cover."
Zeke Veridian snorted, coldly moved the cover over, suddenly fixating on the orderly clay bodies in the kiln, his emerald pupils contracting sharply.
Those clay bodies actually emitted a jade-like luster, edges thin as a cicada’s wing, more exquisite than the finished pottery he’d seen at the Royal City.
"Did you really make this?"
He gently placed the top cover on, afraid to damage the clay bodies.
Luna Sutton rolled her eyes speechlessly, "Otherwise? Did you mold them while sleepwalking in the middle of the night?"
Zeke Veridian was speechless, patting the dust off his hands: "Are you sure these clay pieces can really be fired successfully?"
Though they look nice, they are still half-finished products.
Luna Sutton heard, gave him a mysterious smile: "You’ll know by then whether they can be successfully fired."
Zeke Veridian stared at her cunning smile, unable to resist dousing her with cold water: "If they end up as a pile of broken shards..."
His words were cut off by Luna Sutton’s glare: "Stop cursing me."
She hummed discontentedly, "If it’s successful, will you wash my feet?"
Zeke Veridian was stunned, his ear tips instantly turning blood-red, his emerald eyes flickering: "...Nonsense."
Luna Sutton burst into laughter: "What, don’t dare to bet?"
"Who doesn’t dare!"
He blurted out, immediately regretting and clamping his mouth shut.
Jago hid behind the kiln pretending he didn’t exist, paws covering his mouth tightly.
Help, he actually saw Lord Zeke being goaded into a trap.
...
Three days later, on the kiln-opening day.
Luna Sutton stood in front of the kiln with her belly slightly out, Zeke Veridian blocked her with a cold face.
"Stand back."
She rolled her eyes at him, instructing Jago to open the kiln cover.
"Be careful not to damage my....."
Bam!
At the moment the cover was lifted, dozens of radiant pottery pieces were neatly arranged in the kiln, glistening with a jade-like sheen under the sunlight.
Jago gasped, "By the Beast God, my goodness, Master, these, these are even...
Zeke Veridian’s fingertips trembled slightly, carefully extracting a clay bowl.
The bowl walls were as thin as an eggshell, producing a clear hum when tapped.
"Luna."
He suddenly turned, his emerald eyes shining brightly, "These pottery pieces..."
"Lose and pay?"
Luna Sutton wiggled her pale foot, grinning like a cat that got the cream: "Feet washing tonight."
