The Wicked Female Is Wild and Scheming, Living in a Love Battlefield Every Day-Chapter 155: Caleb Manning Rampaging
"She brought the medicine herself."
Luna Sutton kicked at Chloe Callahan’s chest, and a few bright red aphrodisiac fruits rolled out. "I was in such a hurry to save someone that I didn’t notice before, but now it seems... Caleb Manning’s partner fell in here with these things, might she have intended to..."
She had secretly stuffed those aphrodisiac fruits in her clothes earlier.
As for where the aphrodisiac fruits came from, naturally, they were from the system package.
She had once accidentally seen these fruits in the forest and picked a few to put in her system package.
Thinking she might be able to use them someday.
Chloe Callahan saw the aphrodisiac fruits that rolled out from her chest and was instantly dumbfounded, screaming and defending herself, "Not mine, these fruits aren’t mine at all. I don’t have such things..."
Before she could finish, seeing Rhys Blackwood’s disgusted expression stopped her voice abruptly.
She instantly realized that she had been plotted against by this woman.
Her reaction was swift; it had taken only a few minutes.
Compared to Pearl Vance, that fool, this woman was much smarter.
Chloe Callahan’s expression was extremely troubled.
"Ding! Rhys Blackwood’s favorable impression has risen by 10 points, currently at 75. Up 2 points from before the fall, please keep up the good work, Host."
Upon hearing the voice in her head, Luna Sutton secretly flashed a victory sign behind her back.
Malachi Arcanus, leaning to the cave entrance at some unknown time, absently rubbed the Bone Whistle at his waist, his lips curved in an amused smile.
This gesture reminded him of a bird he once saw as a child—it loved to hide shiny stolen things under its wings.
"Interesting."
His black eyes were deep, and his lips curved in an amused arc.
Luna Sutton, hearing movement, instantly felt a chill run down her spine, turning her head to crash into a pair of jet-black, playful, and teasing eyes.
Malachi Arcanus somehow appeared at the entrance, with the moonlight outlining his smooth shoulders, and the bone chain at his waist gently swayed with his breaths.
"Why are you here?"
Seeing Malachi Arcanus made Luna’s heart skip a beat; when did this man show up?
Did he spot her little actions?
Her mind was uneasy, yet she couldn’t bring herself to ask.
Malachi noticed the stiffness in her expression, fully understanding her thoughts, maintaining an amused smile.
"I came to see how Rhys Blackwood’s interrogation was going; I didn’t expect to miss a good show."
He said as he walked over, catching the dripping dew from the ceiling with a raised hand.
He didn’t intend to expose her.
Seeing he didn’t expose her, Luna Sutton breathed a sigh of relief; her anxiety finally subsided.
"Rhys Blackwood, how is the interrogation?"
Malachi asked lazily, his gaze sweeping over the disheveled Chloe Callahan on the ground, noticing her face alternating between glowing white and dark yellow, resembling a comedic yin-yang composition.
Rhys Blackwood glanced at Malachi, his tone indifferent, "The interrogation is finished. She has aphrodisiac fruits on her, the intent is unclear, but—"
Drawing out his voice with some mockery, "Caleb Manning is quite generous, willing to sacrifice his companion to probe secrets."
Malachi gave Luna Sutton a glance, slightly curling his lips, teasing, "Caleb Manning isn’t that generous; maybe this woman acted on her own initiative, bringing aphrodisiac fruits herself. After all, you all are so outstanding, haha..." 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
The cave’s atmosphere became eerie and awkward for a moment.
Luna Sutton rolled her eyes; this man really enjoyed the chaos.
However, this indirectly proved Malachi hadn’t set his sights on Chloe Callahan.
Her gaze fell on Chloe Callahan’s yin-yang face, unable to hold back her laughter.
Half of her face glowing with white light, the other half, dark yellow and dirty, like a double scourge; not as appealing as pure darkness.
No wonder Malachi wouldn’t be interested.
Rhys Blackwood glanced at Luna Sutton, feeling something off about the situation, but presently lacking the mind to delve into it.
His voice indifferent, "Since the interrogation is finished, we shall leave. Kian Sterling has already set off for The Winged Tiger Tribe; Caleb Manning will probably arrive soon, and we must prepare first."
Malachi pointed his chin at Chloe Callahan, asking, "And what about her? How to handle this?"
Rhys Blackwood looked at the disheveled Chloe on the ground, thought for a moment, and coldly said, "Keep her locked up first, then we’ll decide when Caleb comes; she might prove useful then."
Malachi nodded slightly, saying nothing more.
...
Meanwhile, thirty miles away at the cliff edge, Kian Sterling was smiling as he blocked the raging Caleb Manning, "Heard you lost your partner? It happens we found a little white rabbit..."
Nine snow-white fox tails spread behind him, precisely blocking Caleb’s attempted tiger-claw strike.
"Kian Sterling, move aside!"
Caleb Manning, his fiery gold eyes ablaze with anger, had his devilishly handsome face turning rigid upon noticing the bone chain Kian’s finger toyed with.
It was clearly the bone chain around Chloe’s neck, crafted by his own hands from Saber-toothed Tiger’s teeth and bone, a token of his affection for Chloe.
Kian Sterling twirled the bone chain in his hand, his gentle voice dripping with venom, "What’s the hurry, your little rabbit is currently being skinned by Rhys Blackwood."
As his gaze passed over Caleb’s chest, where his beast-hide shirt was slightly open, exposing sun-kissed skin and a broad, sculpted chest, an allure that’s maddening.
Kian Sterling, being male, felt nothing, instead noting the flash of the White Tiger mark there.
Which clearly marked Chloe Callahan’s partnership.
A decent marker, saving him the trip to The Winged Tiger Tribe.
Caleb Manning’s face darkened terribly, a glint of murderous intent within his golden eyes.
He was fixated on the bone chain in Kian’s hand, his voice a low, icy growl, "Kian Sterling, you better not touch her, or—"
"Or what?"
Kian Sterling laughed lightly, his nine fox tails casually swaying, voice tender yet provocatively, "Caleb Manning, your current strength might not match mine."
Caleb’s fists clenched, his knuckles emitting a "crack" sound.
He was well aware Kian Sterling had surpassed the sixth tier, slightly stronger than him.
Yet Chloe was his partner, his life, he would allow no harm come to her.
Not even a hair.
"Kian Sterling, what do you want?"
Caleb Manning suppressed the fury within, his voice cold as ice.
Kian Sterling smiled faintly, fingers lightly caressing the bone chain, speaking nonchalantly, "Want nothing really, just intrigued. Your little rabbit mistakenly wandered into our forbidden territory, currently detained. Now, should I let her go?"
Caleb frowned, confusion etched into his expression.
He often hunted around Cragfall, when did it become forbidden by The Wolf Tribe?
And even though Chloe had a stubborn streak, she’d never intentionally trespass on anyone’s land, let alone a forbidden territory.
"Forbidden territory?"
Caleb scoffed coldly, his golden eyes flashing disdain, "Kian Sterling, stop pretending. When did Cragfall become your forbidden territory? I’ve never heard of it?"
Kian Sterling maintained his playful smile, fingers gently caressing the bone chain, voice casual, "Oh? You didn’t know? That’s indeed my oversight. However, since your little rabbit has already wandered onto our land, traditions must be followed, mustn’t they?"
Caleb, hearing this, was seething further within.
He knew full well what Kian Sterling meant by "traditions."
Each tribe held their forbidden territories in utmost regard, with trespassers often met with severe penalties.
If not outright executed, leaving without paying a hefty price was rare.
The Winged Tiger Tribe operated similarly.
Chloe could likely live due to his aura; otherwise, she’d be long gone.
He didn’t know Cragfall had a Salt Lake and found it curious The Wolf Tribe had suddenly claimed it as forbidden.
Apparently, something was discovered there.
He wasn’t in the mood to deeply ponder Cragfall’s secrets, worrying solely about Chloe’s safety and how to retrieve her.
Were it not for hearing Corbin Crowley, Rhys Blackwood, Kian Sterling, and Malachi Arcanus had hit the sixth tier, he would have charged in recklessly.
