The Wicked Female Is Wild and Scheming, Living in a Love Battlefield Every Day-Chapter 153: Six of One, Half a Dozen of the Other
Zeke was about to speak when a sudden roar from afar interrupted him. Malachi shouted, "What’s all the noise about? If Caleb dares to come, I’ll skin him and use his tiger hide as a rug to stomp on."
A black wolf tail swept across the surface of The Salt Lake, stirring up ripples of silvery water.
Corbin Crowley’s silver eyes narrowed slightly, his fingertips lightly caressing something unseen, "Have Kian Sterling deliver a message to The Winged Tiger Tribe. Tell them..."
He suddenly caught a whiff of pine scent carried by the wind, faint but detectable. His Adam’s apple moved subtly as he continued, "Tell them we’ve found a lost little rabbit."
Luna Sutton was hiding behind a big tree, eavesdropping. Upon hearing this, her pupils contracted sharply.
This was clearly a line Nightwing used when he first met Chloe Callahan in the original plot.
Back then, he also said, "We found a lost little rabbit."
From then on, he became interested in the heroine.
Luna’s heart rang with alarm bells, her fingers tightly gripping the tree bark, nails almost digging into the trunk.
"Caleb’s female?"
Rhys Blackwood appeared by Corbin’s side at some point, his deep black eyes reflecting cold light under the moon, "I’ll go interrogate her, maybe even cut her open to check if she has The Salt Lake’s map hidden inside her."
She hid behind the tree, hearing this, her face turned even more unpleasant.
In the original plot, Rhys said similar things to scare Chloe Callahan, threatening to cut her open but not really searching for a map, just to frighten her and tease her.
As a result, Chloe was terrified, like a frightened little white rabbit, which instead piqued Rhys’s interest, leading him to see her in a new light.
Luna’s heart chilled. They hadn’t even met yet, but the plot was already starting to spiral out of control.
She had to think of a way to get Chloe out of here quickly; otherwise, the consequences would be unimaginable.
Her mind raced, formulating strategies.
"No, I need to act fast."
She gritted her teeth and quietly slipped away from the tree, heading straight for the place where Chloe was confined.
Chloe was held in a nearby cave, guarded by two Beastmen at the entrance.
Luna approached them, speaking coldly, "I’m here to interrogate her."
The two Beastmen exchanged a look, hesitant.
She frowned, her tone more forceful, "What? I can’t go in to interrogate?"
Hearing this, the guards quickly bowed their heads and stepped aside.
Luna was the leader’s daughter, naturally entitled to conduct inquiries.
Thus, they didn’t stop her any further.
She stepped inside, seeing Chloe curled up in a corner. Upon hearing movement, Chloe looked up, her eyes immediately lighting up.
Taking Luna as a savior, Chloe instantly got up, rushed over, and grabbed her arm, pleading urgently, "Help me, please help me, I didn’t mean to, I didn’t know this was The Wolf Tribe’s forbidden land."
Chloe’s tears fell like broken beads, dripping down as her voice trembled with sobs, "I just accidentally fell in, please help me, I don’t want to be locked up here..."
Luna’s arm ached from her grip, and she frowned slightly, though she coldly sneered inside: Accidentally? You’re the main character, of all places to fall, you landed right into Umbraflow and floated to Kian Sterling. This "accidental" seems too convenient, doesn’t it?
She discreetly withdrew her hand, her tone indifferent, "Help you? Why should I help you? You’re the Winged Tiger Tribe’s female, who knows if you’re a spy sent by Caleb?"
Upon hearing this, Chloe’s face turned pale, and she shook her head frantically, "No, I’m really not a spy, I’m just... just..."
She stammered for a long time, unable to form a complete sentence.
Luna didn’t want to hear her nonsense and interrupted directly, "Enough, stop pretending. You carry Caleb’s scent, Zeke and the others have long detected it. No matter what you say now, they won’t believe you."
Chloe’s tears fell more fiercely, her voice filled with despair, "Then... what should I do? I really don’t want to die..." 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
Seeing her pitiful appearance, Luna felt a wave of irritation.
This heroine truly has a halo, even shedding a few tears can soften others’ hearts.
Too bad, she’s not one to fall for that.
Luna’s gaze fell on Chloe’s glowing white skin and her pitiful face, and she instantly had an idea.
Men are visual creatures; if Chloe lost that glowing white skin, no matter how pitiful she acted, perhaps it would be difficult to attract men’s interest.
Actually, ruining Chloe’s face or killing her would be better, but that would easily arouse suspicion.
"Don’t want to die? Then cooperate with me obediently."
She said coldly.
She planned to darken and yellow Chloe Callahan’s skin with herbs. Although she didn’t have the herbs at hand, she had seen them nearby when she came this way.
Upon hearing there was a way to survive, Chloe eagerly nodded, "I’ll cooperate, I’ll cooperate, as long as you can save me, I’ll do anything."
Luna Sutton’s lips curled into a cold smile, thinking: You’re the one who said it, don’t blame me for being ruthless.
She turned and walked out of the cave, quickly found several herbs nearby that could darken and yellow skin, crushed them, and brought them back to the cave.
She told Chloe Callahan to sit on the ground and not move, then smeared the crushed herbs on her face, neck, and hands...
For the areas unexposed, she let Chloe apply it herself.
With this application, Chloe Callahan’s once radiant skin instantly turned sallow and dull, reducing her attractiveness by at least a third.
Luna Sutton also burned some charcoal in the cave and used a charcoal pen to draw on Chloe Callahan’s face.
She thickened the eyebrows, made the eyes smaller, flattened the nose, and thickened both lips by a circle.
In an instant, she transformed from a delicate beauty into an ordinary bystander.
Although Chloe Callahan couldn’t see her face, looking at her sallow, dull skin, she immediately broke down, unwilling to accept it.
She seriously doubted this woman never wanted to save her but was just afraid she would seduce her Beast Husband and deliberately humiliate her.
She had already seen that this woman’s two Beast Husbands were indeed very handsome, handsome enough to make her heart flutter.
Thinking this, she looked at Luna Sutton with a strange gaze and said coldly, "You did it on purpose, you never intended to help me, did you?"
Chloe Callahan wanted to wash it off immediately, but unfortunately, there was no water in the cave, and rubbing it off by hand might make it look even worse.
Her anger rose rapidly, wanting nothing more than to tear this woman’s face apart.
But on second thought, she realized she was now a "captive," and acting recklessly was clearly unwise.
So, she quickly put on a pitiful expression, tears welling up in her eyes, "Sister, why do you treat me like this? I just want to go home, why must you torment me like this?"
Luna Sutton nearly vomited from the previous day’s meal upon hearing this.
This "white lotus" act was indeed masterful; one moment she was gritting her teeth, the next she was looking pitiful.
Unfortunately, she wasn’t buying it.
"Don’t worry, you will go home, I don’t want to keep you here either. As for making you look like this, it’s just because it’s safer."
She discarded the charcoal pen in her hand, clapped her hands, stood up, and with a cold voice, left those words as she turned and walked away.
She wasn’t afraid of Chloe Callahan washing it off; the herbal juice had penetrated the skin, and simple water wouldn’t wash it off. Only with specific herbs concocted into a solution could it be cleaned off completely.
Even if Chloe washed, she could only remove the ugly makeup drawn with the charcoal pen, but her skin would still be dark and yellow.
Just as Luna Sutton left the cave, she noticed Rhys Blackwood heading this way from the corner of her eye.
It was obvious he intended to interrogate Chloe Callahan.
Her eyes flashed slightly, she didn’t go up to greet him, instead, she hid in the nearby bushes.
Rhys Blackwood’s cold face looked particularly sharp in the moonlight. He walked straight to the cave where Chloe Callahan was held, not noticing Luna Sutton in the nearby bushes.
Luna Sutton hid in the bushes, following Rhys Blackwood’s back into the cave.
She didn’t leave, just crouched there secretly watching.
Inside, Rhys Blackwood entered the cave, his gaze coldly sweeping around, finally landing on Chloe Callahan curled up in a corner.
Moonlight slanted through the cave entrance, casting on her face that had been "carefully transformed" by Luna Sutton.
Rhys Blackwood frowned slightly, her skin was sallow and dull, her eyes small, nose flat, lips thick like sausages, her looks extremely ordinary.
Her figure was decent, but alas, the face was too ugly.
He glanced once and lost interest, instantly withdrawing his gaze.
But he couldn’t help thinking: When did Caleb Manning’s taste become so poor?
He remembered Caleb once mocking Corbin Crowley, himself, Kian Sterling, Zeke Veridian, and Malachi Arcanus, saying they were forced to marry an ugly monster.
Saying Cynthis was so ugly she’d give nightmares if seen at midnight.
Now it seemed, Caleb’s taste wasn’t much better, they’re all about the same, no one should ridicule others.
