The Wicked Female Is Wild and Scheming, Living in a Love Battlefield Every Day-Chapter 145: You’re Better at Insulting People
Lyle was just about to say something.
Suddenly, there was a rustling sound in the dense forest.
Everyone instantly turned towards the direction the sound came from.
Deep in the forest, there was a towering silver wolf and a massive black python rapidly darting towards them.
Though they were far away, in the next second, they appeared right in front of them, moving incredibly fast.
It was precisely Corbin Crowley and Rhys Blackwood.
Both transformed into human form, their gazes simultaneously fell on Luna Sutton, noticing the blood at the corner of her mouth, their eyes darkened.
Corbin’s gaze was cold enough to freeze someone; he glanced at Kaelen Vance’s corpse on the ground, his lips curling into a cold smile, "Even this trash dared to hurt you?"
Before he finished speaking, he raised his hand and struck, Kaelen’s corpse instantly turned into mush, not even leaving a scrap of bone.
When they rushed over, he had heard some of what Wolf One had said.
No matter the reason, anyone daring to plot against or hurt her deserved death.
Rhys stood aside, his expression indifferent, as if everything before him was unrelated to him.
He only slightly lifted his hand and flicked his fingers lightly, a black light flashed, and Mia, hanging from the tree, shattered instantly, turning into a mist of blood that scattered with the wind.
He never struck females, but Mia’s actions had crossed his bottom line.
She deserved death too.
Luna blinked, secretly thinking: these two bigwigs sure made a... straightforward and brutal entrance.
Huh? Weren’t they over at The Salt Lake? Why did they suddenly come back?
Could it be that they didn’t trust her, afraid she would sneak around like Quinn Morgan, and secretly come back to check?
She hadn’t had a chance to speak when Corbin had already stepped over, reaching out to pinch her chin, his silver eyes flashing with a trace of danger: "Injured?"
Luna’s mouth twitched, thinking his gaze was like he wanted to swallow her whole.
And this action, it just felt so awkward.
She hurriedly peeled his hand away, speaking nonchalantly: "Nothing serious, just accidentally got shaken up when that guy Kaelen grabbed me."
She truly didn’t put this minor injury in her heart; she could heal it with her ability later.
Corbin snorted coldly, clearly unhappy with her carefree attitude.
He turned to look at Wolf One and the others, his tone icy: "Is this how you protect her?"
Wolf One, Wolf Two, Wolf Three, and Wolf Four instantly shivered, all lowering their heads in unison, not daring to even breathe.
She felt helpless inside and quickly tried to smooth things over: "Hey, don’t blame them, that guy Kaelen was indeed a bit troublesome. If they hadn’t arrived in time, I might have really suffered."
Having said lies so many times, it almost felt true; even she believed it.
Corbin glanced at her, his expression disdainful: "Troublesome? With just his pitiful strength?"
Luna secretly rolled her eyes: Here we go, this big boss is starting to show off again.
At this moment, Rhys slowly walked over, "Though you have the Wood Element Ability, ultimately your level is not high. Let the witch doctor check you out later."
She looked at Rhys, actually wanting to say the old man’s ability level might not be as high as hers.
Getting treated by that old man is not as good as doing it herself.
But considering Rhys didn’t know, she didn’t bother to explain, just smiled and nodded: "Alright."
Corbin’s gaze was still cold as ice, anger mixed with worry, starting to criticize: "Is your brain filled with shit? Don’t you know what kind of person Mia is? The relationship between you two is worse than a stray dog, yet you go to such a secluded place in the middle of the night with her, was your brain squished by a door?"
Luna was dumbfounded by the scolding, couldn’t help but think: This guy really has some rhythm when he scolds, almost like rap.
However, she didn’t show it on the surface, just pouted, muttering under her breath, "I’m fine, aren’t I..."
"Fine?"
Corbin was amused out of anger, his gaze sharp as a knife, "With blood still on your lips you call it fine? So long as you’re not dead, it’s fine?"
She was at a loss for words, secretly rolling her eyes: This guy really takes advantage and doesn’t let go.
Rhys quietly glanced at Corbin, thinking he scolded well, without a severe scolding, she wouldn’t learn a lesson next time.
It’s rare for him to agree with Corbin’s approach.
Even if Corbin didn’t scold, he would have scolded her as well.
Scolding is light; she should be spanked too.
On the side, Lyle’s face was already dark as the bottom of a pot.
This young lad Corbin, scolding his daughter in front of him, and so harshly, was essentially challenging his authority as leader.
He couldn’t help but cough, trying to remind Corbin to watch his limits.
But Corbin completely ignored Lyle’s signal.
Or rather, he didn’t care at all, continued coldly staring at Luna, his voice commanding and strong: "If there’s a next time, I’ll lock you in a cave, and if you don’t listen, I’ll break your leg and make sure you crawl and never get out for life."
Luna’s mouth twitched, dizzy from being scolded.
This guy really sees himself as the arrogant boss? Lock her up? Break her leg? Never get out?
Well, if it weren’t for knowing he cared about her, she would have kicked him long ago.
Still, she kept up the appearance of being obedient, nodded: "Got it, I won’t run around next time."
Corbin snorted coldly, clearly dissatisfied with her answer.
He turned his head to Lyle, his tone indifferent: "Leader, now that the issue is resolved, we’ll be heading back."
Lyle’s face remained gloomy, couldn’t help but say: "Corbin, be a bit gentle with women, don’t be so overbearing."
Corbin raised his eyebrow, his tone bland: "Gentle? Leader, are you sure she needs gentleness?"
He shot a meaningful glance at Luna. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
Luna glared back immediately, cursing inwardly: This guy, really deserves a beating!
Rhys stood on the side, lips slightly curled, his tone cool, "Corbin, you did scold her a bit harshly, but—"
He paused, turning his head to look at Luna, his gaze deep, "She indeed needs a lesson."
Her scalp tightened, feeling there was more to Rhys’s words, quickly changed the subject: "Weren’t you two over at The Salt Lake? Why come back all of a sudden?"
Corbin snorted, his silver eyes slightly narrowed: "You think it’s for someone else? That damn mark on your chest kept flashing, annoying me to the point of sleeplessness."
"Damn mark?"
Her mouth twitched, thinking this guy really is tsundere, obviously worried sick, yet stubbornly acts tough.
Rhys stood on the side, maintaining his cold demeanor, but his gaze lingered on her for notably long.
He spoke calmly: "Afraid something might happen to you, so we returned."
Luna was speechless inside, these two men clearly concerned for her, but one had a mouth as hard as stone, excessively tsundere.
The other was cold and spoke few words, stingy with speech, just couldn’t speak properly.
She was about to say something.
Suddenly Rhys stepped forward, without a word, lifted her horizontally.
His actions were brisk and efficient, leaving no room for her to struggle.
She was startled, instinctively wrapping her arms around his neck, meeting his deep eyes, her heart inexplicably skipped a beat.
"Hey, what are you doing?"
She widened her eyes, struggled twice, wanting to get down, but he held her tighter.
Rhys looked down at her, speaking nonchalantly: "Going to see the witch doctor."
Corbin watched from the side, his gaze darkening, his silver eyes showing displeasure, spoke coldly: "Rhys, put her down."
Rhys paused, replying indifferently: "She’s injured, needs treatment."
"No need for you to carry!"
Corbin’s tone was harsh, reaching out to grab her.
Rhys sidestepped, his gaze stern: "You’re in charge of scolding, I’m in charge of care, clearly divided."
Corbin’s silver eyes narrowed, his expression darkened further, "You bloody well responsible for the scolding, why don’t you?"
Rhys couldn’t be bothered with him, held Luna and turned to leave, his tone cool: "Scolding is more your expertise."
Corbin: "..."
In Rhys’s arms, Luna couldn’t help but chuckle.
She looked up at Rhys, noticed that despite his expressionless face, his lips were slightly upturned, clearly teasing Corbin deliberately.
Even Lyle, following behind, seeing this scene couldn’t help laughing aloud.
Corbin, this lad, only Kian Sterling and Rhys Blackwood could deal with him.
But seeing them care so much for his daughter, his heart felt significantly at ease.
