The Werewolf King's Bride-Chapter 495: Breaching The Law Of Nature
(From Blue’s Perspective)
"I don’t know what I expected, but certainly not this," Evan mumbled beside me as the knights of the duke were on one knee, their heads bowed as they pledged their loyalty to me. They were the knights that the duke led in the war. I had told the duke enough things to convince him. It was actually easier than I thought.
"Maybe you should prepare for some surprises too," I said. Dem lost his eye and maybe his life too because he never expected much of a surprise. He should have been cautious, but he was too confident. That was the mistake he made.
Evan did not ask me many things, maybe because he was too shocked. However, he said he did not believe the knights would follow me so quickly. It took him by surprise when the knights did, and even the duke’s knights were offering me their swords. The duke had a way with words, but now I noticed, I did too.
"Rise," I said and they rose in sync. I always was surprised by the kind of sync they maintained among the knights. "We all are the children of the moon. This land, this kingdom, it is our home. You can go to any kingdom and build a house and say it is your home. But is it really?
Is it truly your home?"
"Never! My land is my only home!" one of the knights shouted and others joined.
I actually felt cringed at my own sayings, however, it did not matter. If they wanted a patriotic speech, I would try my best to deliver it, and then, maybe I would take a shower and remember all the cringe I felt.
I could not feel guilty exactly. This kingdom, or anywhere in this world would never be my home if Dem was not there. He was the reason I thought of this kingdom as my home. If he was gone, this home would be gone too.
"I will not lie. I cannot lie to my own people," I said. "I have not known my power when I became the Queen. And when I found out, the only thought came to me was that even if it is a power not everyone will accept, why don’t I try to use it for my kingdom, for the sake of my people? Is it so wrong to accept a power like this to serve my own kingdom? To save the kingdom I call home?"

"The King and I did not want to reveal my power so soon, as I am carrying the precious child of this kingdom, the heir," I said. I did not want to call my child the heir, however, it was important to lie at this moment. "But the time has come. Because of the sly methods they used, we had to rush. The King has lost his eye and is recovering. But he is with us.
And it is our duty, all of your duty, to fight for your King, for your Queen, and for your home. I want to hear it again."
I took a deep breath as I asked as loud as I could, "Are you with me?"
What did I expect? Yes, I did expect them to say yes, to follow me. However, I never thought I would see them this eager, their eyes so fierce and I could almost see that they had truly accepted me as their Queen. Was it because of what I did on the battlefield? Was it because I dared to come to the battlefield when they expected me to hide away somewhere? Either way, it was overwhelming.
If I had not been careful, tears would have escaped my eyes.
"Now, for Querencia!" I shouted and the crowd broke out in hail.
"For the people!"
"For our home!"
"For the Queen!"
The dragon roared and raised its head as it breathed out fire in the air. It knew the timing damn well.
I got to rest for a while. Today, we won. But tomorrow might bring something more. Azure was not the type to not do anything. He probably did not expect me to act this way. He probably did not know I could act this way ever.
So, he did not use that many dark mages. But tomorrow, he would act harder. They had a lot of dark mages, but we had only three. Cyan could not be here as he had other things to do, other very important things. So, it was just Evan and me.
I was not exactly sure if we would be able to defeat them, but I had a few plans.
"What exactly are your plans?" Luc asked as we sat down for some tea. However, no one was touching their tea except for me.
"I cannot exactly describe all of them. I have created some plans, then some other backup plans, and then some backup backup plans. There is a limit to how many times plans can fail and I believe it will not be more than two times," I said.

"And that thing you did a while ago… Blue, you always said you fear standing in front of too many people and you cannot say anything then," he said. "But today, you did it just fine. More than fine."
"Are you a natural?" Evan asked.
"Maybe," I chuckled. "Who knows?"
’For Dem, I can do anything. Getting out of my comfort shell and facing my fears is nothing.’
"Nah, all of this is too unexpected," Luc grumbled. "And really, why is that dragon has his face inside the tent? Why is he not leaving?"
I smiled and ran my fingers over the scales of the dragon. It literally had its face inside the tent through the entrance.
"Can’t you make it disappear since you created it?" Evan asked.
I looked away guiltily.
"You can’t?"
It was the moment, both Evan and Luc lost their minds. Creating life was one thing, but permanently doing so was quite a different thing. Even I thought I could make it disappear, however, I could not. It most probably was impossible.
I had possibly created the first-ever dragon.
Dragons had always been a myth only. It never existed. I did not know how I created it, but I never could do it again. Perhaps the anger and frustration I felt created this animal.
No matter what Luc and Evan said, even if I was breaching the law of nature, it did not matter. Dem was dying. Would I sit still when my husband was dying? I would do anything. Besides, if the law of nature could be breached, why would I hold back?
