The Web of Knightspur-Chapter 64: Predator
Princess Eleanor got up in the morning and she looked around in a daze.
Her eyes were blurry but she still managed to understand what was going on. "Nia?"
"Nia?" Princess Eleanor called out to her lady in waiting but Nia did not come. Unsure of what was going on outside, the princess walked a little.
Princess Eleanor was well aware that they were supposed to move today. All the Princesses that were here were supposed to reach the temple.
Princess Eleanor looked at the knight that was stationed near her tent. "Excuse me?" Princess Eleanor said but the knight did not say anything to her.
Princess Eleanor raised her eyebrows in irritation. Her eyes were filled with disbelief. She took a deep breath as she decided to take a step forward just to make sure that the knight could hear her. But before she could take that step, her legs paused.
Princess Eleanor’s eyes widened as she saw a seal. It was identical to what she had seen on Sir Kit but this was not made of gold. Princess Eleanor’s breaths hitched as she did not know what she was doing. She must be seeing things right? It had to be that way.
Princess Eleanor bit her lips as she took a step forward to question the knight. She knew that even if the knight was ignoring her now, he could not do that once she stood in front of him. They had to show her respect.
"What are you doing here?" An irritated voice made Princess Eleanor’s body pause. She didn’t know what to do anymore. Her eyes were burning with questions but her body refused to walk.
And before she knew it Princess Eleanor was pulled by a force into the tent. A heavy jacket was placed on her body as she looked up to see the annoyed face of Sir Kit.
"What are you doing?" Princess Eleanor asked the question. The jacket was heavy and it was making her hot. She did not want to keep the thing on her body so she removed it angrily.
"What am I doing?" Sir Kit’s tone was filled with rage as he looked at the Princess as if he was observing some fool that annoyed the Princess. "I should be asking that question to you, Princess. What are you doing? Why would you go out in a dress like this for everyone to watch?"
Princess Eleanor tilted her head as she looked down only to realize what she was wearing. Her eyes widened in shock as her face turned red in embellishment. Princess Eleanor wanted to disappear on the spot but she did not want to show her weakness to Sir Kit.
"What is wrong with this?" Princess Eleanor said as she looked up at Sir Kit as if this was normal. She ignored the thin layer of cloth on her body as her eyes sparkled with determination. "You are seeing me like this."
Sir Kit could not take this anymore. His eyes narrowed as he took a step forward.
For the first time, Princess Eleanor was afraid of her escort. He looked like a predator ready to attack but Princess Eleanor did not want things to go this way. She moved back as Sir Kit took a step forward.
This continued till Princess Eleanor had nowhere to go. She stood at the edge of the bed while Sir Kit was in front of her, looking down at her face.
"Yes, I am seeing you right now," There was a small possessiveness in Sir Kit’s tone but Princess Eleanor could only hear the voice. Her mind was focused on looking at him. Although the man wore a mask, he was too tempting. His eyes were too captivating.
Princess Eleanor felt dizzy all of a sudden. Was it because she had just woken up or because of the man’s aura, she could not tell. Princess Eleanor took a step back subconsciously but there was no place to go.
Princess Eleanor lost her balance as she moved backward. The fear of falling down was greater as she closed her eyes in fear. Her hands moved around in search of any support she could get and before she knew it, Princess Eleanor got the support she wanted.
Her hands caught on to the fabric as she fell down on the bed. The cloth in her hand loosened as a hot sensation filled her body. Princess Eleanor opened her eyes in shock as something heavy was pressing down on her.
Her mind processed before her body could. Her eyes were looking into a dark deep gaze that was making her hypnotized.
’What did I do? It was a mistake. Yes, it was? But this? How could I? No, this is wrong. But then why do I want this to continue?’ Princess Eleanor’s mind was a mess. Her breathing increased as she tried to control the unwanted thoughts but before she could reach the weight that was pressing her down had vanished. The warmth she felt on her lips was gone.
Sir Kit was in a daze. He had never been in a situation when he had felt so lost. It was unlike him.
’What is wrong with me?’ Sir Kit clenched his hands as he closed his eyes. The image of Princess Eleanor closing her eyes was still burning in his thoughts. He could still feel the softness he felt on his lips.
Sir Kit shook his head as he tried to remove the image from his mind even though he knew it would be impossible.
’This cannot go on.’ Sir Kit thought, ’I had not even kissed her, our lips I only touched. Nothing happened but then why is my heart beating faster? Why do I want to hide her somewhere safe?’
Sir Kit took a few breaths as she looked back only to realize that Princess Eleanor had gotten up at some point. Her cheeks were tinted in pink as she bit her lips.
Looking at the Princess in such condition was a torture by itself. Sir Kit moved his head as he said in a stiff tone, "We are leaving soon. The Princess should get ready fast and sit in the carriage with care. You should not forget that you are still injured."
With those words, Sir Kit left the tent in a hurry without waiting for Princess Eleanor’s reply.
