The Web of Knightspur-Chapter 60: Call Sir Kit
Nia walked towards the tent as she saw Princess Eleanor sitting on the bed, looking sleepy.
"Princess, you should rest. I will take the plate away." Nia said as she saw Princess Eleanor open her eyes, looking at her.
The glow from the lamp showed the dark eyes of Princess Eleanor looking at Nia. Her eyes were slightly lower but Nia knew what that meant. Princess Eleanor wanted to know what happened and she wanted them to whisper.
Nia had gone through it a lot when Princess Eleanor was in the palace after her parents were murdered. The communication needed to be silent to avoid the Princess being killed too.
Princess Eleanor blinked as she waited for Nia to say the words. She had stayed up just to listen to what Nia had to say.
Nia moved a little forwards as she whispered, "There are two groups and one of the Princess was also attacked but had no injuries. We will be leaving for the temple tomorrow early morning and it will take around two days to reach."
Princess Eleanor nodded her head as she looked at the tent entrance. She did not know what was on her mind, but somewhere she was thinking about the man who was her escort, the knight that had helped her.
"Nia, when you go to Sir Kit to hand in your reply, can you tell him I want to talk with him?" Princess Eleanor asked. She could see the shock in Nia’s eyes but she had her plans. "He is the only one I trust."
Nia was silent as she held the plate in her hand. She took a deep breath as she walked towards the table, placing her letter in her dress, hiding it as she walked out.
Nia knew that somehow Princess Eleanor had started trusting Sir Kit a lot. Although she could not tell from when, but Nia knew that it was what it was. There was a slight rage inside her heart as she tried to maintain her calm.
Nia first walked towards a deserted place as she put the plate there before moving around trying to find Sir Kit. But no matter where she looked there was not a single man who was wearing a mask.
Nia was confused. Her eyebrowed were wrinkled as she wanted to curse. She had never seen the face of the man called Sir Kit but no matter who she met, she could not see anyone.
Nia decided to take a stand and move to the side. She walked towards the very end as she saw the knight standing there, "Hello, can I meet Sir Kit."
Nia said in a low tone. She knew that it was nighttime and if her voice was loud then someone might wake up so Nia was extra careful. But no matter how much she tried, Nia never got a response.
"Excuse me?" Nia tried again but the man was not panning any attention to her.
Confused, Nia returned to the tent. As soon as she looked inside she saw Princess Eleanor looking at her. Nia could not help but shake her head in denial.
Princess Eleanor took a deep breath as she said to Nia, "Call the knight stationed at the entrance."
Nia nodded her head as she called one of the knights that were stationed at the entrance. Although the knight came he simply stood in the outermost area but did not say anything as if he was ordered not to. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
"Come inside." Princess Eleanor said in a small voice. Her tone was soft but sharp. Nia who was standing beside the man could see his nervousness. She knew that the knight was hesitant to obey.
"If you refuse to come inside then I have to make my way outside and who knows, with the injury on my leg, the wound might just open up and get worse," Princess Eleanor’s words worked like a trigger and the knight walked inside but still kept a distance.
"I want to meet Sir Kit. He is my escort and I want him here." Princess Eleanor demanded. Her eyes were sharp as she continued without waiting for the knight’s reaction. "I need to talk with him. I want to talk with him."
The knight stood there like a statue but did not react. Princess Eleanor was losing her patience as she struggled to keep a calm demeanor. "I need my escort here. I cannot sleep until I know I am safe."
The knight looked at the Princess but did not say anything. After a while when he realized that Princess Eleanor was stubborn he nodded his head as he walked out.
Once they were alone in the tent, Princess Eleanor’s eyes narrowed. Her breathing hitched but she did not say anything as she observed, looking outside.
The tent was made of thin cloth. Maybe because they were in the desert but Princess Eleanor knew that if she said anything, the people on the outside would know. They were in the night and even a small voice can be magnified.
"Nia, I am thirsty." Princess Eleanor said as she looked at her lady in waiting to obey her words. Soon a glass of water was offered to the Princess, who took it and kept it in her hand.
Princess Eleanor’s eyes narrowed as she whispered into Nia’s words. "When Sir Kit comes in, I want you to give him the letter and go check on Lady Gisella’s health. It will be fine, if you decide to stay and take care of the Lady too."
Nia did not reply but her eyes widened. The unhappiness and doubt were written on her face. Nia was not accepting of Sir Kit. So many questions were revolving around her mind but when she saw the determination in Princess Eleanor’s eyes Nia knew that the Princess would not listen to anyone at this point.
"I understand," Nia managed to say as they waited for Sir Kit to come.
