The Web of Knightspur-Chapter 154
Nia’s eyes narrowed as she took a deep breath.
"Princess, this place..."
Princess Eleanor laughed as she looked at Nia who was struggling to find the words. "Isn’t it beautiful?"
Nia was confused as she nodded her head. She would have never thought that she would be able to see such a beautiful garden here behind the Beaumont mansion.
"Did the Princess discover it?" Nia asked. She knew that princess Eleanor liked to roam around on her own in the Beaumont mansion as no one was there to keep an eye on her.
"The hair maid showed it to me. I think the Grand Duke did not like a bed of flowers so the maids decided to plant them here. That is not our concern Nia. You have the pouch right?" Princess Eleanor asked as she blinked her eyes nervously. She was hoping to hear a good answer.
"Yes Princess," Nia held the pouch up as she smiled. "It is ready to plant."
Princess Eleanor nodded as she walked to the very end. "I had asked the head maid. We can plant the flowers here but we need to be very particular in the way they are planted. I do not want them to contaminate the area."
"But Princess, the area is small. Someone might touch them unknowingly and..." Nia said as she looked at Princess Eleanor but she realized that she had said something she should not have and closed her mount. "I understand."
Princess Eleanor took a deep breath. She removed a pouch from her dress and she handed it to Nia while she took the one from Nia’s hand. "Look at that end."
Nia followed Princess Eleanor’s gaze as she looked at a distance. It was the neglected part of the ground where a few kinds of grass were grown. "We will be planting there. No one uses this area so I had already asked the gardener. We can plant it there."
Nia nodded her head as she followed behind Princess Eleanor. The Princess stood at a place and she took a long dry tree branch. She pointed it to the ground as she drew a large circle. Satisfied with her work, Princess Eleanor looked back at her lady in waiting as she said, "Here I will plant these seeds."
Princess Eleanor moved the pouch up that was in her hand as she continued, "You will plant the Salvia flowers surrounding it. Make sure that the diameter surrounding is huge so that no one will come inside."
Nia understood what Princess Eleanor was trying to do. She wanted to create a barrier for her plants. "I understand. I will start by removing the unwanted grass,"
Nia started working as she saw princess Eleanor removing the gloves from somewhere as she wore them naturally. "Princess, I will plant them. You do not have to.."
"Nia, you know how to handle the plants once they are grown up. But you do not know how to manage the seeds. I do not wish to place you in an unwanted and dangerous situation. Let me sow them for now,"
Listening to Princess Eleanor’s words, Nia could not help but swallow hard. She knew that she was not yet trained to handle the seeds. Although she knew that the whole plant was poisonous, Nia was informed that the seeds contained the most poison.
"But Princess," Nia was a little afraid. Princess Eleanor was always careful when she planted the plants but it was when they were at the Princess’s maternal grandparent’s place. Now the situation has changed. They were in the Roulux Empire at Beaumont mansion. What if something went wrong and the Princess is affected? What if the Princess the poison goes into the system?
Nia was afraid of the situation turning serious. Princess Eleanor could see the concern in her lady in waiting’s eyes as she smiled, "Don’t worry, Nia. I am used to this. And I will be more worried if you sow them."
Nia was speechless. She knew that her experience in handling the seeds was limited but she knew that she was someone who would be extremely careful at times like this.
Nia wanted to object but as soon as she tried to open her mouth to say something, she closed it in a hurry as she saw the darkened gaze of Princess Eleanor looking at her.
"I will start working," Nia said with a smile as she bent down as she started to pull the grass in a hurry.
Nia did not know how long it had been as she saw the Princess who was sitting on the grown separating the seeds with care. Her hands were moving around like an expert as she was working, being fully focused.
"Princess," Nia said as she rubbed her forehead to remove the sweat. She walked towards the Princess and she looked at the Princess.
"Are you done?" Princess Eleanor looked at Nia before looking behind her lady in waiting. She saw a well done soil, perfect to sow some seeds.
"Yes, should we start?"
Princess Eleanor nodded as she looked at the side. "We will need some water. I will arrange it."
Nia shook her head as she took a step forward, "No, Princess. You wait here. I will get the water. I know a place that is near here." 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
Princess Eleanor nodded her head as she blinked. She saw as Nia ran at a distance. A laugh left Princess Eleanor’s lips as she moved her gaze towards the seeds again.
’I need to be careful. I have worked hard to understand how to cultivate you. I cannot afford any mistake now,’ Princess Eleanor thought6 as her lips curled up.
"What is the Princess doing here?" A voice made Princess Eleanor stop in her movement. Her eyes widened as she bit her lips.
Princess Eleanor’s hands formed a fist as her heartbeats increased. She knew the voice very well, and he was the last person she wanted to meet today.
"Doctor Raul," Princess Eleanor looked back as she stood up with grace. His body covered the seeds perfectly.
Doctor Raul looked at Princess Eleanor as his gaze narrowed, "The Princess here alone?" Doctor Raul tried looking through the side but he could not see anything. His eyes stopped on princess Eleanor’s gloves stained with soil.
"This?" Doctor Raul took a step forward but Princess Eleanor took a step back as she moved her hands behind her back.
"I was gardening. It is one of my hobbies," Princess Eleanor said as she smiled innocently.
"It is an unusual hobby. I thought the Princesses and noble ladies hated getting their hands dirty." Doctor Raul said as he looked at Princess Eleanor, trying to understand what the Princess was thinking. Something told him that he should know more but his trail of thoughts was busted by a pearl of laughter.
Princess Eleanor laughed as she shrugged her shoulders, "Well, most of them do. But I like it. When I was in the Angevin Kingdom I liked to grow plants. It gives me satisfaction and relaxes my heart. Now that I was here in an unknown mansion of an unknown Empire, I was anxious so the head maid showed me this place. She even said that I could grow some plants if I want to."
Doctor Raul narrowed his eyes as he looked at the bed of flowers. "But why is the Princess sowing the seeds so far away?"
"I am not sure of my talent and I do not want to damage the well planted flowers there. Anyways, Nia is helping me with gardening. It is just a hobby so just pretend you don’t know anything about it." Princess Eleanor looked down at the grown as she made her eyes look smaller, "I am embarrassed."
"But the plants..." Doctor Raul did not question Princess Eleanor’s words. She looked like someone who was really embarrassed.
"I did not take the Duke’s permission. Please don’t tell him." Princess Eleanor looked up as her eyes had some water droplets in them. She looked like a person who was afraid.
"Well," Doctor Raul tried his best to look somewhere else as he did not want to look into the Princess’s eyes. "The Duke might be angry."
Princess Eleanor took a step towards Doctor Raul as she said eagerly, "That is why I am telling you not to tell the Grand Duke. This is the only thing that makes me happy. What if the Grand Duke becomes angry with me? He already does not like me. I can feel it."
Doctor Raul looked at Princess Eleanor’s gaze. He could see that the Princess was telling the truth. She really likes this. He could just tell it by looking at her eyes.
Doctor Raul sighed as he shook his head. He knew that it did not matter if he told the Grand Duke or not. The man had his eyes and ear everywhere in the mansion.
"Okay, but the Princess must really like gardening,"
Princess Eleanor nodded her head in a hurry, "Yes I do. It relaxed my mind."
"I know someone who likes gardens and flowers as well. And that person is coming to the Beaumont mansion tomorrow," Doctor Raul could see the confusion in Princess Eleanor’s eyes as he continued, "The Crown Prince will be here tomorrow morning to meet the Princess."
