Princess Eleanor was silent as she bit her lips nervously. ππΏπ²ππ°πππ§πππ²π₯.πππ
"Princess, what is the meaning of this? I donβt think it is the right thing to do." Commander Colt said with a trembling voice. He could not imagine that the Princess asked him to go with her to the Grand Dukeβs study room. Commander Colt did not want to do it. He was a little afraid to step there without permission but when he looked at Princess Eleanorβs determined gaze he was lost for words.
Princess Eleanor looks like someone who did not care what Commander Colt was thinking. Although in reality, she was a little ready to be rejected. She knew that the Grand Dukeβs reputation was not good and many people avoided him directly and maybe the commander was one of them too, but thinking that Commander Colt was a loyal servant of the Crown Prince there was little hope in her heart that maybe Commander Colt would agree.
"I just want a few things to do there. It will not take more than an hour. Commander Colt is my escort, you should listen to me," Princess Eleanor demanded. She knew that the Commander was going to reject her offer. She could see it in his face, "Okay, how about it. Tonight just accompanies me there and makes sure that no one enters the study room when I am there. Commander Colt can do that, right? I am not telling you to enter but just let me go inside and look around. I will be out soon. Anyway, I heard that the Grand Duke is not here in the mansion. Nothing will happen."
Commander Colt looked at Princess Eleanor. He could not believe that Princess Eleanor really thought that the Grand Duke was not in the Beaumont mansion. He had seen him today at the training ground. But looking at the light flash in Princess Eleanorβs eyes it was clear that she believed it.
"How can the Princess be so sure of it?" Commander Colt asked in a small tone. He wanted to know the reason behind the confidence of the Princess.
"Sir Kit told me," Princess Eleanor smiled. "You donβt have to worry. I know my limit and I will be careful. We will not be caught."
Princess Eleanor knew what she wanted from the situation. She just wanted to read basic things. All the books that she had read yesterday had a page dedicated to the things the royal family of the Roulux Empire had done. She had a glimpse of it when she was reading the book last night about the Angevin Kingdom. It was usually a few points that briefly explained the things that the Royal Family was a part of.
Princess Eleanor was confident that if she knew even a small amount about it, it would be helpful to negotiate with the Royal family or the Crown Prince. Princess Lenaor wanted to read it yesterday but before she could Sir Kit had already closed the books and kept them in the book sleeves.
Although Princess Eleanor did not know which all books contained the documents in the book sleeve she knew which books were dedicated to the Angevin Kingdom. She was careful enough to memorize the position of the book.
"Commander Colt, we have decided that you will follow my instructions here. You are my escort and I am your master. I do not want to put you in a difficult situation. Trust me, I will be out within an hour. And all you have to do is tell me if you see someone coming inside." Princess Eleanor smiled as she blinked her eyes. "I know that the Royal Family might be asking you to bring me to the royal palace soon. I am about to get fully cured. I will not create any unwanted difficulties and go back to the Royal palace as soon as the mark on my legs disappears."
Commander Colt felt a little tight in his heart. Although he did not say so, but the truth was that the Crown Prince was forcing him to convince the Princess to return to the Royal palace soon. The offer was tempting enough but thinking about the Grand Duke Beaumont all of the temptation disappeared in an instant.
Commander Colt shook his head, "Princess, there is a line that should never be crossed. And in this case, it is to go against the Grand Duke. He is not someone to oppose. I think the Princess can understand but I will not be able to help."
Princess Eleanor took a deep breath. She knew that she had at least tried her best to convince him, but it was useless. βI think I have to go on my own,β
Princess Eleanor leaned back on the chair as she blinked her eyes, looking at Commander Colt with a smile, "You are a little afraid of the Grand Duke. I heard the rumors that you were as powerful as him. Arenβt you competing with him?"
Commander Colt swallowed as he looked at the princess with narrowed eyes, "I donβt know where the Princess had heard it but let me tell you the truth, I am not competing with the Grand Duke. There is no rivalry between us. Because I know that I cannot compete with him."
Commander Colt smiled as he said in a low voice, "Princess, I am sorry to disappoint you but I will tell you something. The Grand Duke has many rumors about himself, but not all are true. There is a fine line between the truth and false and people tend to forget about it. I donβt know what Princess Eleanor has heard but you should not believe everything that you hear in the Empire. People manipulate the truth to fit their perspective. I hope the Princess knows it well before she enters the royal palace."
Commander Colt took a deep breath as he walked out the door leaving the Princess in deep thoughts. She knew that Commander Colt would not agree but now that she heard him, Princess Eleanor was sure that his advice cannot be taken lightly.
