Without the gems, they would return to their previous leveling speed. Kyle had guessed that these gems had the power to help them and the giant mutated animals to advance quicker. Without these gems, he estimated that it would take another month before these giant mutated animals reached rank 7 again.

During this time, there will be more powerful awakened.

Kyle had no interest in interfering with those other people business and would rather stay here.

Besides, he had something he wanted to do.

“Fine if that’s what you want. I thought you’re going to use this chance to test your newfound power after taking that two gems.” Jake shrugged.

On their way here, Kyle took the last two gems that he had. With these two gems, he was also getting stronger, but he knew that it would take some time before he could reach rank 7.

Probably a few more months without the existences of these gems to help him cut down the time.

Those people from City G and City H definitely would never want to hand over the gems in their hand, so this is the time for them to level up honestly with their talent and also crystals from killing giant mutated animals.

“Have some rest. We’ll just sweep the area from time to time to prevent these giant mutated animals from reproducing a lot.”

.....

“Got it.” Jake grinned. Now, this is the type of job he was more interested in. Rather than staying and used his ability to build some buildings and so on, Jake would rather use his ability to kill more giant mutated animals.

That was more fun.

Dylan nodded. “Ok.”

“We can separate…” Kyle hadn’t finished speaking when he saw Jake’s Mother appearing.

She looked at them with a bright smile. “Oh, you’re finally back. Jake, come with me and have some training. I want to test your ability.”

“Mom, I have just got back….” Jake was speechless.

“Oh, you’re still fine and I will only borrow an hour of your time. After that, you can rest. Come with me, Jake.”

Jake looked at the others as if he wanted them to plead for him, but the others tactfully ignored his gaze. Lica excused herself since she wanted to return to the lab while Kyle and Dylan directly walked in the direction of the research institute.

Kate only passed gaze of pity before she rested on Kyle’s arm again.

Thus, Jake was dragged by his mother to have another nightmare spar.

Thud!

When they reached the third floor, they could hear the sound of fight. Kyle guessed that Marc and Lucy might have some quarrel because of Robby again. Lucy liked dog so much and with her tricks, Robby often seemed to forget his owner.

That made him remember how heartless this little cat used to be.

Kyle glanced down at Kate.

“Do you want to take a bath first, Kate?”

“Meow?” Kate opened her eyes blearily and looked at Kyle. <There’s no need. I just want to have some rest.>

“Ok.”

Kyle chuckled and brought her to enter his room.

Kate was put on her bed and curled up her body happily.

She had to admit that she was not used with Kyle being so close to her after knowing that she’s Kate. Well, he might have known about it for a long time, but Kate just felt that it was only a few days ago, which made her feel a bit awkward.

Thankfully, on their way back, there were still others around them, so Kate could temporarily ignore the feeling.

But now that there were only the two of them, she would rather pretend to be sleeping.

“Are you sleeping, Kate?” Kyle arched his eyebrows when he saw the little cat curling up her body. She was no longer so small that she would need to sleep at every moment. In fact, he knew that she could stay awake longer now.

“Kate,” Kyle called again.

Kate still wanted to pretend to be sleeping, but being called that way, Kate could only raise her head. She looked at Kyle in front of her and meowed. ƒ𝘳𝗲𝑒𝒘𝐞𝚋𝚗𝐨v𝘦l.𝒄o𝐦

“Meow.” <What is it?>

“You seem to be avoiding me. Are you still awkward because of the blood contract?” Kyle had changed his clothes and now sat on the bed. Kate’s bed was right beside his bed, on top of a chair to let her jump into his bed if she wanted to.

Kate looked at Kyle and felt that it would be better for her not to turn into a human being right now. She didn’t want him to look at her awkward expression.

“Meow.” <Yeah >

It was strange for her to have blood contract with Kyle. Everything that she did seemed to be connected to him.

She felt as if that if she wanted to, she could know what Kyle was feeling and where his location was. The word privacy between the two of them seemed to be only their thoughts inside their mind and things that couldn’t be seen directly with their eyes.

But being able to connect with each other like this made her feel extremely strange.

Kyle watched the little cat in front of him and reached out his hand to pat Kate’s head. if he had to be honest, he himself was also trying to adapt to this blood contract they had with each other.

Because from now, their lives would be connected with each other.

He didn’t know the extent of their connection, but he knew that looking at each other while having that strange connection felt really strange.

“Do you regret it?”

“Meow.” <No >

Kate only felt uncomfortable and not regretting her decision to have that blood contract with Kyle. She blinked her blue eyes and meowed.

The two of them were silent for a moment.

Watching the little cat in front of him, Kyle was thinking hard and slowly thought of something. He lowered his eyes, looking at the little cat beside him with an unknown gaze. “Do you want to return to your parents and stay with them?”
