The Villainess Winning Back Her Beast Husbands-Chapter 35: Females Are Best at Deception
Orion’s face fell. "Elias Moretti is a genuine Six-star Beastman, and his Beast Crystal has the rare Water Poison System! If you go to him like this, not only will you not get the Beast Crystal back, you might not even make it back yourself!"
His face was ashen. ’This little maiden is far too reckless! Even I wouldn’t dare claim I could gain the upper hand in a head-on clash with Elias Moretti!’
Evangeline just waved her hand, her cool voice drifting back from her retreating figure, "Wait for my return."
"No, I have to go see!" Orion frowned and started to follow, but Thorne stopped him. Thorne’s eyes were cold and unyielding, tinged with a hint of indifference. "Since she wants to go, let her."
Orion’s heart skipped a beat. He turned to look at Thorne. "You don’t care at all if Flora lives or dies?"
Thorne’s eyes were bloodshot, the depths of his pupils filled with a dark, brooding malevolence. He glanced down at the fragrant Herbivore in his hands, then thought back to her deeply moving speech from before, scoffed coldly, and threw the Herbivore onto the ground.
His action made Orion scowl. "Hey! Wasting food is a condemnable offense!"
After muttering, Orion bent down, picked up the golden-roasted Herbivore, dusted it off, and stuffed it into his mouth to feast on it. It was seasoned perfectly. In any case, he had never eaten such delicious roasted meat.
Thorne didn’t stop Orion. He suppressed the pain flaring through his body, his voice carrying a faint tremor. His eyes were scarlet, surging with hostility. "Females are best at deception. For her to go after Elias Moretti so unprepared, she’s either confident in her own strength, or there’s another reason. What do you suppose that reason is?"
He hadn’t forgotten the image of that female and Elias Moretti nestled together, whispering softly to each other.
"Heh..." Thorne let out a cold laugh, filled with self-mockery.
’So close. He was so damn close. To think he’d actually been moved by this female’s sweet talk, nearly forgetting the subtle entanglement between her and Elias Moretti!’
’A female’s false sincerity was all it took to sway him, to move his heart.’
’Thorne, haven’t you suffered enough? Are you asking for even more?’
Orion paused, then said in a low voice, "Are you suggesting that Flora is one of Elias Moretti’s people?"
The words had barely left his mouth when he answered himself, "That’s impossible! Flora is a Witch, and a capable one at that. How could she be ordered around by Elias Moretti? Besides, if she really was his person, there would have been no need to save you twice!"
Thorne’s expression was cold and severe, his eyes like frigid stars. He stared silently at Orion, listening to him argue Evangeline’s case.
A moment later, his thin lips parted. His voice was deep and chilling, each word seemingly wrapped in shards of ice. "Her skills are indeed considerable. Look at you. Haven’t you also been completely taken in by her sweet talk?"
"Don’t forget, she first set foot here with the Midridge Tribe. And the Midridge Tribe becoming a vassal of the Grymdale Tribe was orchestrated single-handedly by Elias Moretti. He was instrumental in that!"
Thorne narrowed his eyes, his gaze growing sharper, as if to pierce through all falsehood.
"Furthermore, she had just arrived at the Grymdale Tribe and was able to rescue me right under the noses of Elias Moretti and Gable. Isn’t that strange? Where did she get such confidence, and what is her purpose?"
At this, Thorne snorted coldly, his face full of ridicule. "Saving me is one thing, but she repeatedly pesters me, trying to move me, even going so far as the absurd claim of wanting to bear my young!"
"Don’t you find that utterly ridiculous?"
Those few sentences were enough to put Orion on alert.
But with the fragrant aroma of the Herbivore filling his mouth, he thought about all she had done for Thorne and said hesitantly, "If she’s one of Elias Moretti’s people and wants to harm you, then why did she use Divination to find Cecilia West to help you look for the Beast Crystal?"
Thorne’s eyes darkened. The pain spreading through his body made his mind even clearer. "That’s a question for Elias Moretti. I’ve already fallen this low. What more could he possibly want from me?"

Evangeline had no idea that the moment her foot crossed the cave’s threshold, Thorne had completely rejected everything she had done, casting all her goodwill and efforts aside.
He was even entertaining all sorts of dark speculations; his suspicion of her grew like weeds.
Her gaze, swift as a falcon’s, swept over the surroundings. In the blink of an eye, she pinpointed her target’s location.
’Although I haven’t placed a Thousand-Mile Connection on Elias Moretti, I can sense the most powerful presence in the tribe. Besides Orion, there’s only one Six-star Beastman, so he’s easy to identify.’
With a light leap, she flitted off in the direction of Elias Moretti’s cave, her slender figure cutting a clean arc through the air.
Evangeline’s form was as light as a willow catkin as she landed silently on the ground.
As she looked up, she happened to see Saskia walking out of the cave, in a truly shocking state.
Saskia’s clothes were in disarray, the silk garment hanging loosely on her. Strands of hair clung to her flushed cheeks. Her face was as red as if she were drunk, her eyes glazed and dazed. Her legs seemed to have lost all strength, and each step was a wobble, as if a slight breeze could knock her over.
Evangeline was speechless for a moment. ’Right. Looks like I’ve found the right place.’ 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
Only after Saskia’s figure had completely disappeared from view did Evangeline stride into the cave.
’It’s not that I’m afraid of Saskia and Elias Moretti ganging up on me. It’s just... they just finished. I should at least give Elias Moretti time to put on his Beast Skin Skirt, right? Otherwise, a confrontation would be far too crude.’
Stepping into Elias Moretti’s dwelling, she was hit by a wave of what could only be described as shocking "luxury."
On the cave walls, meticulously prepared beast skins were neatly hung, displaying the Hunter’s glorious achievements.
Her gaze moved upward. A massive Beast Core was embedded high in the cave wall, particularly eye-catching. The Beast Core had no Star Pattern attribute, but some unknown powder must have been mixed into it, causing it to emit a dazzling light that illuminated the entire cave as if it were day.
The cave was visible at a glance, but there was no sign of Elias Moretti.
Evangeline’s brow furrowed slightly. She looked toward the depths of the cave, narrowed her eyes, and walked toward the winding, rugged tunnel.
Snakes prefer the dark. The light was gradually swallowed by blackness. The air grew damp and thick with heavy water vapor, and even her breath felt cool. A moment later, a vast pool of water suddenly appeared before Evangeline.
Evangeline came to a stop at the edge of the pool. The water was dark and murky, and it seemed to be bottomless.
The water’s surface looked calm, but strange ripples occasionally spread across it, as if an unseen force was churning below. Listening closely, she could faintly hear a muffled stirring from underwater, as if some colossal creature was slowly cruising beneath.
This scene was an absolute dual nightmare for anyone with thalassophobia and megalophobia.
Evangeline pondered for a moment, then with a flick of her wrist, a sheet of talisman paper appeared in her hand.
With a light flick of her fingertips, the talisman paper fell into the pool.
In an instant, the pool’s surface changed abruptly. Wisps of smoke began to rise, and then the calm water began to churn and bubble—GLUB, GLUB, GLUB—like a boiling pot, steaming impressively.
Evangeline took two steps back and stood calmly at the edge of the pool, her arms crossed elegantly over her chest. She stared coolly at the churning water, waiting for Elias Moretti to emerge.
’The Explosive Talisman. It works instantly, producing steaming hot water in moments. It can be used to warm the body and ward off the cold, or even to brew Spiritual Tea. An essential talisman paper for anyone traveling through the Immortal Cultivation Realm.’
