Chapter 75: Chapter 75: I Don’t Want You to Leave

Isaac’s tightly clenched fists slowly relaxed.

Isaac was about to ask Gideon if he had found any clues about Seraphina.

Before he could speak, the other party quickly waved his hand, a flash of embarrassment and panic crossing his face.

"I... I’m definitely looking too! Don’t look at me like that! I’m not heartless!"

He retreated half a step and defended himself in an urgent tone.

"I really have no ill intentions towards Seraphina! Really, I don’t! I just... just reacted a bit slowly!"

Wyatt glanced coldly at Gideon’s anxious appearance, feeling a slight displeasure.

But he also understood that now was not the time to assign blame or accuse each other.

He took a deep breath, quickly calmed down, and decisively pointed in four directions.

"Time is tight, we can’t delay any longer. Listen carefully, I’ll go to the western Cragfall, where the terrain is complex and easy to hide people; Isaac, you go to the northern Northvale, where small Beast Packs often roam and might leave traces; Kaelan, head east to Veridia, the trees block the sky and the visibility is the worst, which suits you best; Gideon, you handle the southern stream area."

"Once you discover any clues, immediately use our agreed beast howl call to communicate: three long, two short, understand?"

The four exchanged looks, and no one said anything more.

They knew that words were useless at this moment.

Only action was key.

Then, they each turned around and agilely leapt into the surrounding dense forest.

On the other side, Seraphina was carried in mid-air by Silas.

Her body swayed violently along the trajectory of his flight.

The howling wind swept past her ears, causing her cheeks to sting.

She could only tightly clench her mouth, instinctively clutching the rough Beast Skin Skirt on her body.

Like this, they sped through the air for almost half an hour.

Until suddenly a bottomless giant chasm appeared beneath them.

Silas dived down abruptly, stopping steadily before a hidden cave entrance halfway down the cliff.

He slightly bent his arms and gently set Seraphina down.

When her feet touched the ground, her knees gave way slightly and she almost fell.

Luckily, she managed to brace herself against the cold rock wall to barely remain standing.

Upon entering the cave, Silas immediately reverted to human form, his figure tall and upright.

Without hesitation, he turned around and deftly wove together a bundle of thick vines hanging at the cave’s edge, covering the entire entrance securely.

Instantly, the glaring sunlight from outside was completely blocked out.

Inside the cave, only dim light and the flickering fire cast dancing shadows.

Seraphina’s heart still pounded fiercely in her chest.

Earlier during high-altitude flight, the biting wind cut her face like knives.

Though she was now on the ground, she couldn’t stop trembling.

She stood in this unfamiliar and chilling cave.

The only light source was a smoldering pile of firewood in the corner.

The firelight flickered, reflecting deep in her pupils, alternating light and dark.

She clutched the Beast Skin Skirt in her hand tightly.

Stiffly rooted to the spot, she dared not move or speak.

Silas keenly sensed her tension and fear.

He didn’t approach but instead deliberately slowed his movements, speaking in a low voice.

"Don’t be afraid, I really don’t intend to harm you."

He cautiously stepped forward two paces.

But the instant he came closer, Seraphina instinctively shrank back, her back striking the cold stone wall heavily. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

Silas immediately stopped his steps, slowly lowering his raised hand.

He looked into her wary eyes, feeling a pang in his heart.

He knew his rashness had frightened her.

So he forced himself to stand still, his tone gentle to the point of being cautious.

"I don’t want you to leave."

"If you leave, I’ll never find you again."

Seraphina slowly raised her eyes, staring directly at him.

Her lips pressed into a straight line.

She really couldn’t figure out what Silas wanted.

Did he plan to forcefully bond with her using a Beast Blood Covenant, binding her to his side forever?

Or was he merely using her as a pawn, preparing to threaten Wyatt, Kaelan, and the others to achieve some unspeakable purpose?

Before figuring out his true intentions, she couldn’t act rashly.

So, she chose silence, pretending to know nothing.

The cave fell into dead silence.

Only the occasional rustle of the wind brushing past the vines outside broke the stillness.

Silas knew she no longer trusted him.

This realization sank his heart.

For a long time, he said nothing more, slowly turning to the corner of the cave.

There lay several bundles of dry straw and some thick Beast Skins spread on the ground.

Clearly, this was where he usually resided.

"This place is safe," he said while patting the pile of Beast Skins, indicating that she could sit and rest, "It’s well concealed, with natural barriers; no beasts can get in. You can relax."

He pointed again at the pile of skins, his voice as calm as possible.

"You sit and rest while I look nearby for ripe fruit. You left in a hurry this morning, surely you didn’t eat enough."

With that, he turned to leave.

But behind him suddenly came a cool and steady female voice.

"Silas, I’m not hungry."

His footsteps halted abruptly, his body stiffened, then he slowly turned back.

The firelight illuminated his profile, outlining deep contours.

He met her gaze.

Her eyes were full of caution, yet exceptionally bright.

"Bringing me here," she continued to ask, "what exactly are you planning to do?"

"Seraphina, you know what I want."

She frowned, her fingers unconsciously clenching tighter.

Her voice carried a trace of suppressed coldness.

"I don’t know. I only understand one thing, I don’t like being forced to do what I don’t want to do. My choices never need someone else to decide for me."

Silas’s gaze suddenly heated up.

His tone deepened with newfound seriousness, no longer the tentative probing.

"Seraphina, I want to bond with you. Just a drop of blood, just one, okay? If you nod, everything will be different."

"Silas, I’ve already refused. I don’t want to bond with you. This answer won’t change again."

He didn’t retreat but instead took a step closer, staring intensely at her.

His voice was low and firm, with unprecedented earnestness.

"It’s the first time my heart has raced for a female. Before, I didn’t understand what longing was or what it meant to be unable to let go. But now, I understand... I truly... like you. Not because of who you are, nor because of your strength or weakness, but because you are Seraphina."

As if suddenly remembering something important, he added.

"I’m about to ascend to Blue Rank. Soon, my aura will stabilize at the Peak of High Rank. If you stay with me, I can protect you. Caden is right, those so-called Beast Husbands can’t even provide you a stable meal, let alone ensure basic survival resources; how can they talk about protecting you or spending life with you?"

Seraphina’s brow furrowed into a knot.

Her eyes filled with anger, intertwined with deep annoyance.

Even if she truly wanted to sever ties with those Beast Husbands, she would never choose Silas.

This person has never respected her wishes.

To take her away by force, intercept her midway, to use brute force threats, is this called affection?
