Chapter 72: Chapter 72: Voluntarily Proposing to Leave

Kaelan stood to the side, his gaze darting between Seraphina and Wyatt.

"I’ll go! I’ll go get the stone pot!"

Upon hearing this, Gideon immediately raised his hand high.

Without waiting for a response, he turned around and dashed out of the cave.

In no time, he was back, huffing and puffing, carrying a stone pot.

Seraphina glanced at the heavy pot, silently musing to herself.

These men of The Primal Age are like they’re made of iron; their strength is no joke.

She glanced down at the heap of wild fruits Wyatt had brought back earlier and picked out some plump Earth Potato Fruits.

While everyone was focused on the fire and the pot, she discreetly pulled out a few more Earth Potato Fruits from her portable space.

Taking out her short knife, she sliced the Earth Potato Fruits along with a few Red Pearl Fruits into small, appropriately sized pieces.

Just as she reached out to grab the rabbit meat hanging nearby, Wyatt silently appeared by her side.

With a flash of the short knife in his hand, he deftly sliced the rabbit meat into fine pieces.

"What else do we need?"

"Add some water and sprinkle some salt."

Seraphina pointed to a clay pot in the corner.

"Once it boils, it should be ready to eat."

Wyatt nodded and wordlessly crouched by the fire, slowly stirring the pot.

Soon, the aroma began to waft up with the steam.

Everyone unconsciously stopped what they were doing and turned to look at the pot in unison.

When had they ever seen someone cook meat with fruit together?

The broth in the pot gradually warmed, starting to make bubbling sounds.

Seraphina suddenly remembered something important: the Primal Age had no bowls!

Previously, they’d just pick a large tree leaf to use as a plate during meals, discarding it once it cooled.

But now, making soup—they couldn’t very well have everyone drink directly from the pot, could they?

She quickly gestured and said.

"Can someone chop some wood? Make some bowls to hold the soup and whittle a few small sticks for spoons? It’ll be easier to share that way."

Wyatt’s tense expression relaxed a bit upon hearing this.

He was worried Seraphina would bring up the "bloodletting" matter again, but seeing that she only talked about making utensils, he felt relieved.

He immediately stood up and headed toward the woods.

Soon, he returned with a bunch of crafted wooden utensils.

Seraphina took one of the wooden spoons and, after examining it, couldn’t help but praise, "Nice craftsmanship."

She first served Gideon, Kaelan, and the other adult males a big bowl of steaming hot soup.

When it was her turn, she only ladled herself a small half-bowl.

Though there was no salt or seasoning, the fresh ingredients and the Earth Potato soft and tender, melting in the mouth.

The men, holding their wooden bowls, kept scooping spoonful after spoonful, even licking the last bits of meat bits from the bowl clean.

Though already full, they were reluctant to set the bowls down.

Sitting in place, their hands still clinging tightly to the wooden bowls.

Their gazes occasionally darted toward the stone pot that was now more than half-empty.

Gideon licked his lips and couldn’t help asking.

"Seraphina, can you make this again next time? It’s so tasty!"

Just as she was about to nod, Silas’s voice suddenly interjected.

"Seraphina, I brought some roasted meat for you."

He stood under the shadow of a tree not far away, holding a large green leaf with neatly cut roasted meat pieces on top.

Each piece was uniformly sized, clearly showing effort.

He had thought that after her night of hunger, Seraphina would be delighted to see the roasted meat.

But as he approached, the scent of the soup drilled straight into his nose.

His right foot paused mid-air, slowly retracting.

His gaze locked onto the steaming stone pot, a hint of disbelief flashing in his eyes.

This aroma was ten times that of the meat in his hand.

"What are you... eating?"

His gaze swept over each face.

As soon as Silas finished speaking, Isaac suddenly tightened his grip, pulling Seraphina into his embrace.

Those light purple eyes remained fixed on Silas.

Wyatt even stepped in front of Seraphina, shielding her completely.

"Why are you so interested in what we’re eating?"

Silas snorted, his gaze bypassing Wyatt to settle firmly on Seraphina.

"I brought her roasted meat. If you’re hungry, what does it matter to me?"

He only cared about Seraphina’s reaction; as for the others, they weren’t even worth a glance.

He waved the green leaf-wrapped meat in his hand.

"Seraphina, this meat is fresh out of the oven and still hot. Want a taste?"

Seraphina gently shook her head.

"No need, I’ve already eaten. You can take it back.".

She dared not look Silas in the eye, fearing even the slightest oversight would bring unnecessary trouble.

Silas glanced at the stone pot.

The pot had a few shiny gnawed bones left, and the soup was almost gone, evidently divided clean.

He could imagine how they must have scrambled to finish the pot of soup.

"What did you eat? The aroma is quite nice."

Living for so many years, it was the first time he saw someone eat like this, making him curious.

Seraphina’s heart tightened.

In The Primal Age, food preparation methods were as crucial as a lifeline; it wasn’t something one casually shared with a dubious male.

Revealing the secret of cooking could lead to envy, competition, or even danger.

Facing a powerful and unpredictable male like Silas required extra caution. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚

She vaguely replied.

"The game is scarce, so I cooked the meat and wild fruit together. It’s just alright, nothing special, just enough to fill the belly."

Upon hearing this, both Isaac and Wyatt couldn’t help but sigh in relief.

Not breaking the truth meant she still regarded Silas as an outsider in her heart.

Silas didn’t ponder much, just assuming it was a common rustic method.

While talking, he picked up the still-steaming roasted meat.

"Are you full? The meat’s still hot, have a bit more? Don’t let yourself go hungry."

"I’m truly full, couldn’t eat another bite."

Seraphina softly replied.

She slightly turned her head to avoid his gaze, then shifted the topic.

"Where does the Clan Leader of the Eagle Clan stay? I’d like to meet him."

Silas’s expression turned cold.

"Why do you want to see him?"

His heart suddenly raced, as an unsettling thought flashed through his mind.

Is she trying to ask the Clan Leader about Caden’s whereabouts?

If that’s the case, his plan would fall apart completely.

However, Seraphina remained calm.

"We’re preparing to leave. I wanted to bid farewell to the Clan Leader in person. After all, we borrowed a place for the night; it’s only proper to say thank you for his hospitality."

"Leave?"

Silas was taken aback.

"You’re not going to look for your father anymore? Just giving up like that?"

He had thought that as long as he controlled Caden’s whereabouts, she’d have to obediently follow his arrangements.

But now, she’s actively suggesting leaving.

Seraphina nodded softly.

"I guess he might have already returned home. Instead of waiting here pointlessly, wasting time, I’d rather go back and check. Maybe he’s already waiting for me there."

At these words, not only did Silas freeze, but even the few Beast Husbands behind him were stunned.

Everyone knew that since arriving in the tribe, Seraphina hadn’t mentioned going home, let alone leaving.

Her sudden decision to leave was truly unexpected.

Isaac’s arm wrapped around her tightly.
