The Villainess Redeems Herself, The Beast Husbands are in a Daily Love Battle-Chapter 87: What Is It
Selene Kane nodded silently, muttering in her heart.
I didn’t say anything, so why does it feel like I’m in the wrong?
She opened her mouth, but in the end chose not to argue, only letting out a soft "mm".
Evan Sinclair’s face darkened again, his brows furrowing even more, as he let out a cold snort.
He refused to mention the restless night he had.
His mind was filled with images of her bringing back two males.
The thought of her calmly bringing other men back to her place made his chest feel stifled.
She was so cold and distant to them. Were those guys blind to think they could have feelings for her?
As the atmosphere reached its peak of tension, a slender figure slowly walked out from the spaceship’s exit.
Zane descended the gangway composedly, a faint smile playing on his lips.
He walked straight to Selene Kane’s side and suddenly embraced her from behind.
He lifted his head, meeting the icy stares of the two brothers head-on.
"Sorry, there was a bit of traffic. As soon as we got the message, we rushed over."
He suppressed a laugh; he loved seeing the two tiger cubs get riled up.
Their eyes were filled with unconcealed schadenfreude.
Just watching from the sidelines, he found this scene extremely amusing.
"Damn it!"
Ethan Sinclair jumped off the sofa.
"Who invited you? Did anyone ask you? This is my home, what gives you the right to wander around here?"
He pointed directly at Zane, his tone fierce as if ready to throw him out on the spot.
Zane wasn’t angry at all, his expression calm, even with a hint of laziness.
He leisurely raised his hand, his long fingers gently toying with the strands of hair by Selene Kane’s ear.
He even went out of his way to sniff the end of the strand gently with his nose.
"Wherever she goes, I go."
He spoke softly.
"Where she is, that’s my home."
Ethan Sinclair was so furious his face turned red, his chest heaving violently, and his fists clenched tight, his teeth grinding audibly.
He took a step forward but was suddenly grabbed by a strong hand.
Evan Sinclair stood behind him, his brow furrowed.
"Dad just recovered; don’t start trouble."
Ethan Sinclair took a few deep breaths, his chest rising and falling, trying hard to suppress the anger in his heart.
Even so, he still felt stifled inside.
This fish is really troublesome, who knows what plot he’s hatching in his head, yet he acts as if he’s deeply in love.
Why does Mom have to eat fish?
In hindsight, I shouldn’t have brought it aboard; it’s just a scheming sea creature masquerading as human.
Now that Selene Kane was here, she couldn’t forgo the etiquette of meeting the lady of the house.
It was the rule and propriety; no matter how unwilling she felt, she couldn’t lose her composure.
Before leaving, she turned back, her gaze sweeping over the three of them, her tone serious, almost stern.
"You guys, don’t fight."
Her eyes lingered on Zane for a moment longer.
The two brothers’ expressions faltered a bit.
Especially Ethan Sinclair, feeling annoyed that an "outsider" had taken the lead in speaking.
Yet Zane smiled gently, the corners of his mouth lifting slightly, as if the tense atmosphere earlier had never existed.
He leaned forward slightly and lightly kissed her forehead, the movement gentle like a feather brushing past.
"I’ll listen to you, no fussing."
His voice was low, with a hint of indulgence.
Selene Kane kept looking back while walking, her pace steady, but she never took her gaze off the three of them.
She saw Ethan Sinclair’s brows tightly knitted, Evan Sinclair’s stern face. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
Though Zane’s smile remained unchanged, his gaze hinted at provocation.
Their eyes intertwined, and it was as if sparks flew in the air.
Her heart was pounding, her palms slightly sweaty, fearing that the moment she turned away, she’d hear the sounds of a fight breaking out behind her.
But she had important business to attend to and couldn’t stay there to mediate forever.
While walking through the private territory, she could just be "Miss Kane," and nobody dared say a word.
No one called her "Ms. Kane," and no one treated her as an independent person.
Ultimately, it was because she lacked confidence.
Without power in her hands, relying on the status gained through her Beast Husband ultimately wasn’t hers.
No matter how glorious she was, she was just a shadow dependent on others, easily blown away by the wind.
Once Selene Kane walked away, the three men immediately began bickering.
The brief calm shattered instantly.
"My home’s fountain is big enough; I see you’re about to get sunburned, want to take a dip?"
Ethan Sinclair crossed his arms, leaning lazily against a pillar, his tone filled with sarcasm.
His gaze at Zane was openly hostile, even his eye twitching.
"Or you could go hang out in my kitchen fish tank? Since you’re one of those fish, you could chat before getting on the table."
He let out a cold laugh, his mouth curled into a sneer, his words dripping with sarcasm.
Zane still smiled warmly, leisurely touching his own face, as calm as if he were looking in a mirror.
"Can you guys shut up?"
He sighed lightly, his tone carrying a bit of disdain.
"You’re so ugly, it hurts my eyes."
The two immediately bristled, their faces turning an ashen hue, anger flaring from their eyes.
Fists swung again, the air seemingly quivering with their anger.
When the butler reported this to Ms. Kane, Lady Lynn’s young son was quietly sitting on the cushion nearby.
He was a proper noble boy, dressed in a simple light-colored robe, with faint silver embroidery on the collar, making him look delicate and elegant.
He didn’t understand at all why his brothers always fought, his small brow furrowing lightly.
"Aren’t all of my brothers Selene’s partners? Why can’t they get along?"
He lifted his head, his voice innocent, full of naivety.
"Since they all like the same person, they should be united."
He cuddled in his mother’s arms, his body slightly curled up like a newborn animal.
His round little face scrunched up, cheeks puffed.
Lady Lynn clearly doted on this child.
She held him gently with one hand, the other holding a fresh carrot, slowly waving it in front of him.
The carrot still had a few leafy greens attached, emitting a faint fresh fragrance.
"It’s my fault for not managing them, letting them misbehave."
She spoke softly.
Her gaze rested on her son, with not a hint of disdain for him being a small Rabbit Clan male.
In the Star Sector, after all, it was the Tiger Clan, Leopard Clan, and even the sturdy Bear Clan that were more revered.
Those possessing great strength and ferocity were the desired allies for the powerful classes.
Meanwhile, Rabbit Clan beastmen were mostly kept as pets, seen as gentle, harmless, lacking in combat ability.
Their offspring were weak, physically frail, with a low rate of Spiritual Power awakening.
Many females, when pregnant with a Rabbit Clan child, would rather choose to abort than leave such "unfitting" bloodlines in the family.
Over time, Rabbit Clan children were hardly seen in the upper circles.
Their presence faded, with only a few families silently preserving this seemingly fragile yet tenacious clan.
This scene caused a slight tremor in Selene Kane’s heart.
She never knew what his species was.
