Chapter 45: She Hugged Him??

The driver who was sneaking glances at the back seat felt a layer of cold sweat on his back.

They were husband and wife?! Who would believe that?!

Poor Mrs. Harrison was tied up without any rhythm or reason. No wait, she kicked his seat, that’s why she had to be tied up.

If he ignored that part and the fact that the lady was still glaring hatefully as if she could kill the man through her gaze, he would feel pity for her.

But seeing that they were up against neck-to-neck like this, the driver already felt frightened. He felt as if he had seen something he shouldn’t have, and his boss would probably kill him to silence him!

The more the driver thought about it, the more his face paled. He swallowed and continued driving.

Despite everything, if he stopped the car midway, he would probably die faster!

Somehow, they reached their destination. Their venue was another hotel where Chloe was staying. They had to head over to the meeting room at the top floor to discuss the deal.

To Nicholas’s surprise, Asher was already waiting there right in front of the entrance of the hotel lobby. He was casually leaning against the wall with phone in his hand, glancing through the feed. The moment he heard the sound of a car, he raised his head, only to see a shocking scene from the outside.

The car was of course covered up with curtains, but he still saw through the clothes that Abigail was tied up and Nicholas was roughly holding her ankles. When the car stopped, he finally let go and untied the woman’s hand in one go while opening the door.

Before Abigail’s kick could hit his back, he got out. All of these actions were done in the matter of a few seconds.

When he got out, he was already fixing his tie. He looked coldly at Asher and walked past the man, entering the lobby.

Asher blinked out of his shocked state.

Although he had known Nicholas was rude, he didn’t think it was to that extent!

He actually tied up his own wife! Just what the heck happened in that car for him to tie the woman up?

He then looked at the obviously angry and fuming woman coming out of the car with her hair scattered all over her face. She didn’t look like a guest at all, rather a beggar who probably got some luxurious clothes to wear from somewhere.

Asher quickly walked over and asked worriedly, "Abigail, are you okay?"

He stared at the woman’s wrist to see if that tie had left a mark on her skin, but it didn’t. So he relaxed and held her shoulders with both hands. "Say something!"

"I’m fine." Abigail quickly turned from extremely angry to extremely embarrassed in the matter of seconds. "I just want to kill him."

"Should I do it for you?" Asher’s voice was dripping cold as he looked at the woman.

He was serious. If this was how the man treated this beautiful woman, he didn’t deserve her. Of course, he knew the Dawsons and Harrisons had bad blood. A war has been going on between Chloe and Nicholas ever since he took up the company years ago.

That woman did a few things that wouldn’t be called good. She was the villain of the business world, resorting to anything for her benefit. That was why she ended up wasting all her money, selling her own daughter to the Harrisons.

The more Asher thought about it, the angrier he became. He wanted to kill them both, making this world safe for Abigail. Honestly, he had never been this worried for any other woman in this world. His mom had already died when he was born, and he was raised by servants at home.

He finally took a deep breath and said, "You don’t have to dirty your hands. I’ll make sure to clean everything up and save you from-"

Before he could finish his words, Abigail suddenly jumped on him and hugged him, even patting his back. Asher’s entire body froze at that place.

"Oh, my God, you’re so adorable when you’re worried!" Abigail giggled while hugging.

Asher, who felt a warm and soft body in his arms felt like he had suddenly ascended heaven. The traces of warmth in his chest exploded, making him feel colorful emotions out of nowhere.

Never in his mind he had imagined something like this happening. Of course, he had a crush on this woman, but he knew it was harmless, and that his worry for her was merely out of pity. But right now, his emotions were slowly heading toward a dangerous path just because of one simple hug.

Actually, Abigail didn’t hug him romantically. She was merely seeing him as a handsome character she had created, not as a live, real man who was attracted to her charms. His words had pleased her so much that she couldn’t hold it in and hugged him.

Ah, how could this supporting male lead be so adorable?! He deserves to be the male lead, not a supporting character!

Abigail finally let go and patted the stunned man’s shoulder and said, "You’re my closest friend from now on! Let’s go!"

Asher finally woke up from his dazed and shocked state and looked at her. "You... Why did you do that?"

"Hmm?" Abigail tilted her head and asked innocently, "Can’t you hug your friend?"

Can, but you can’t hug the person who likes you, ah!

Asher felt like he wanted to speak up his turbulent emotions, but he still held it in and said with difficulty, "Alright, let’s go..."

What the two of them didn’t know was that a certain cold and icy guy was watching everything unfolding outside from the see-through elevator while heading upstairs. Seeing his own wife hugging another man made his chest burn in anger. His aura turned into shades of black and red, so much so that the people around him in the elevator felt a chill down their spines.

Nicholas still had his phone in his hand that he gripped hard in anger.

Were these two trying to kill him by making him angry every f*cking second of his life?!

Sure enough, he shouldn’t have left the woman alone. In a moment’s notice, she would turn around and hug his cousin!

This woman was fickle, just like her damned mother!
