The Villainess Married The Evil CEO-Chapter 169: Her Brain Malfunctioned!
Of course, for Abigail, saving Nicholas was indeed a priority, but she knew she couldn’t continue to rely on the man all her life just because of that damned serial killer. There was another important reason why she wanted to separate.
Since Asher died because of her, she wanted to steer clear of everyone around her. Maybe that is why she would be able to reduce the killings happening. What if Nicholas died too? It would be disastrous if that happened.
Even a single thought about it made Abigail feel deeply anxious. She took a deep breath as she walked out of the bathroom. Even though she had woken up a long time ago, it took her almost two hours to get ready and get out of the room.
It seemed Nicholas had already expected this to happen. Thus he remained seated on the dining table with his laptop, working with a serious expression on his face. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
Wait, working?
Abigail’s head sharply turned toward the clock hanging on the wall. It was early afternoon already by the time she made her way downstairs. Wasn’t he going to the office anymore?!
She stared at him for a moment before finally making her way downstairs. In any case, her decision was final. She didn’t want to drag anyone else down and be killed because of her. She can’t lose more people just because she is extremely stubborn.
Abigail finally got out of her dazed state as she averted her eyes, refusing to talk to the man. She then walked over, yawning adorable as she sat beside her husband. The man continued to type as if nothing happened. He even ignored her presence as he continued to type without even glancing at her.
Seeming Nicholas like this, Abigail released the breath she was holding. For a moment, she had thought that her husband had accidentally transformed into a completely different person after Asher’s death, but it turns out, he was still the same old cold and indifferent guy who liked to ignore her presence.
Even though Abigail relaxed a little, there was a trace of reluctance and regret in her heart that even she didn’t realize she was feeling. She sighed and started eating her food.
The meal went on without any disturbance. For some reason, Abigail didn’t feel like eating anymore in such a strange silence. She could even feel her husband’s presence at every second as she constantly sneaked his glances.
Nicholas was originally concentrating on his work and wanted to give his wife some peace after what he did in the morning, but when he felt the woman’s gaze staring at home sneakily he finally couldn’t hold it anymore as he put down the laptop and turned toward her.
"Abigail, are you done eating?"
Abigail, who had just finished eating and was sneaking him a glance was caught red-handed. She lowered her head guiltily and coughed as a trace of utter awkwardness filled her heart.
"Yes."
Nicholas stared at her face, especially toward her mouth as a trace of food seemed plastered on her lips. He stared and stared until he couldn’t take it anymore.
Before Abigail could even react, the man had already leaned toward her lips and gently kissed her. The surface of their soft lips touched one another as he pulled out his tongue and licked the traces of food.
Then he leaned back as if nothing happened and said, "There was something on your lips."
’AFSJFKGKSJ,’ Abigail’s brain malfunctioned as she stared at her husband blankly.
The man even dared to lick his own lips because some of the foodstuffs had also appeared on his own mouth from Abigail’s.
The moment she realized what had happened, her entire face turned bright red, similar to a tomato as her eyes widened.
F*ck!!!!
What just happened?!
He kissed her for the second time!!! In a single day!
Ah, her virgin lips!!!
In her dazed state, she even forgot that she had to pick up her dishes and get up to wash her hands after eating. She continued to sit there, staring blankly at the empty chair dazedly.
No no no, something must have happened to Nicholas. She was sure of it! But what???
Abigail was merely thinking about what had happened to the man when a breath of warm air burst into her ears as a voice softly whispered, "If you’re not getting up, should I help you up?"
"I’m up!" Abigail couldn’t take it anymore. Even though she had always wanted her husband to be the active kind, she had already lost all hope. Now that she was ready to leave him behind for good, he was actually showing advances toward her, terrible ones at that!
But she didn’t have time to think of what she should do or how she should react. For she was merely facing an urgent situation right now.
The moment she got up, she realized she was standing too close to the man, so close that she could even smell his cologne, which strangely seemed addictive. Her heart thumped in her chest as her restless eyes glanced about, swallowing loudly.
"I.... I’ll go... I still have to unpack."
Nicholas hummed. "Sure. Go ahead."
Abigail’s lips pursed as she looked at him finally up close and instantly lowered her head when her heart thumped for the second time.
Damn, his face was so close!
Wait, why wasn’t he moving back? She had to get away right now otherwise her heart might even burst out of her chest!
Nicholas didn’t move. He continued to stand there just like that, staring at her expressionlessly. No one knew what he was thinking about, but his gaze only turned slightly more intense after seeing her blushing in front of him.
The corners of his lips curved up as he said, "Why are you still standing?"
Abigail gritted her teeth and glared at him. "Because you’re standing in front of me."
"Oh?" Nicholas leaned over and Abigail almost got another heart-attack thinking he was going to kiss her again. Thus, she instantly put her palms on her lips, blocking them at once as she stared at the man with widened eyes.
Suddenly, he heard the man snickering as he leaned toward her fully to the point that even his body touched her. His arms went behind her as if hugging her, but instead, he pulled the chair out of the way and leaned away a little. He put his hand in his pocket and said, "There you go."
"Huh....?" Abigail’s brain malfunctioned once again as she stared at him blankly, still blushing because of what happened.
"You can go."
