Chapter 87: Chapter 87: The Big Cat Feels Wronged, Don’t Like Him More Than Me

"You’re leaving so soon?"

Su An’an’s eyes widened. Her head, which had been dizzy with anger at Fei Zhao, suddenly cleared. She reached out and grabbed Ying Jiuyao’s sleeve.

"Why didn’t you say so sooner?"

"Yeah, there’s activity from the Mutant Beasts in the Black Canyon. Cedric is worried they can’t hold the line and is urging me to go back right away."

Ying Jiuyao buried his face in the crook of Su An’an’s neck. His warm breath was tinged with grievance, and his fluffy tail coiled restlessly around her wrist. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞

"I don’t want to go. I want to stay with you forever."

"Stop messing around. Military matters are more important."

Su An’an’s heart skipped a beat. Her fingertips gently stroked his soft tiger ears as she soothed him in a soft voice,

"When you come back, I’ll treat you to some Pu Lu Beast Meat."

"I want the most expensive kind!"

Ying Jiuyao immediately looked up, his Gilded Beast Eyes shining astonishingly bright. "The kind drizzled with Starlight Sauce and served with Crystal Truffles!"

"No problem!" Su An’an smiled faintly, the full air of the Empire’s Empress on display.

"I’ve got plenty of money. I could book out the whole restaurant for you!"

"Anan, you’re the best!"

Ying Jiuyao excitedly pecked her on the cheek, then turned and deliberately lifted his chin at Night Abyss.

’Where the money is, that’s where the love is!’

’So what if you can cook delicious food to please Anan?’

’She still likes me best.’

’That damn cat!’

Night Abyss’s dark red vertical pupils constricted slightly. The steel juice cup in his hand developed a web of fine cracks from his grip.

Seeing this, Ying Jiuyao’s smile grew even more smug.

He deliberately nuzzled his fluffy ears against Su An’an’s neck, his voice as cloyingly sweet as honey.

"My heart aches. How about you give me a kiss to make it better?"

"Alright, alright!"

Su An’an sighed in resignation and stood on her tiptoes, giving him a peck on the chin as light as a dragonfly skimming water.

"Not enough!" A cunning glint flashed in Ying Jiuyao’s eyes. He swept a long arm around her, trapping her in his embrace, then lowered his head and fiercely captured her soft lips.

His large hand cupped the back of her head.

The kiss was domineering and fierce, as if he were pouring all his possessiveness into it.

Night Abyss’s nails dug deep into his palm, the veins on the back of his hand bulging.

He stared intently at the overly intimate scene.

’He desperately wanted to rush over and twist that damn cat’s head off.’

’And then tie his presumptuous tongue into a knot.’

But reason held him rooted to the spot.

’That damn cat is going to the Black Canyon. It’ll be at least a month or two before he’s back. During that time, I can have Anan all to myself.’

’Endure, endure, endure!’

Night Abyss repeated the word over and over in his mind, nearly crushing the steel juice cup into scrap metal.

Just as his patience was about to snap, Su An’an suddenly reached out and viciously yanked on Ying Jiuyao’s fluffy ear. "You’re really pushing your luck, aren’t you?! Do you want to attend your military briefing or not?!"

"I just can’t bear to leave you."

Ying Jiuyao’s ears drooped, but his tail restlessly wound around her wrist, nuzzling her like a coddled puppy.

He lowered his head, his Gilded Beast Eyes secretly gauging Su An’an’s expression.

In the end, Su An’an couldn’t bring herself to stay mad. She reached out to rub his fluffy ears, her tone softening.

"Go back and train hard. Video call me when you have time. If you dare get distracted on the battlefield, I won’t let you off easy when you get back."

"Yes, ma’am!" Ying Jiuyao was instantly revived to full health. He excitedly rubbed his head against her flushed cheeks, his tail wagging so happily it became a blur.

As he turned, however, he abruptly bared his fangs and shot a vicious glare at Night Abyss.

"You damn Poison Dragon, you better watch over Anan for me! If she so much as loses a single hair, I’ll strip off every one of your scales when I get back!"

"Worry about your own tail first."

Night Abyss’s gaze was icy. His long fingers shot out like lightning, grabbed the tail wrapped around Su An’an, and unceremoniously flung it away.

"Are you looking to die?!" Ying Jiuyao’s fur stood on end in an instant. Silvery-white lightning erupted from his fingertips, and the CRACKLE of electricity filled the cabin.

He arched his back and bared his sharp tiger fangs, looking for all the world like a provoked tiger.

"I wish you would," Night Abyss said, the corner of his mouth curving into a dangerous arc. A scarlet light glowed in his dark red vertical pupils.

Behind him, his dragon tail slowly unfurled, the poisonous stinger at its tip glinting with a cold light.

A heavy pressure filled the air. The metal floor let out a strained CREAK under the force of their confrontation.

"That’s enough!" Su An’an suddenly snapped.

She swept a deadpan gaze over the two of them, a dangerous glint in her eyes.

"If you dare damage my medical bay and lounge, I’ll send you both to the Mine Star to dig for ore!"

"I would never be so barbaric."

Ying Jiuyao immediately retracted his gleaming claws and started nuzzling her neck with his fluffy head.

"I’m the best-behaved. I would never cause trouble right under your nose."

As he spoke, he shot a furtive glance at Night Abyss, but his restless tail wound itself around her waist in a clear declaration of ownership.

"Yes, yes, you’re a good boy."

Su An’an perfunctorily rubbed his ears while signaling Night Abyss with her eyes.

’The Big Cat is about to head to the front lines, after all. They should stop being at each other’s throats.’

Night Abyss noticed the faint dark circles under her eyes and finally retracted his dragon tail. His cold, hard voice softened a few degrees.

"I’ll go prepare lunch for you."

"Okay!" Su An’an let out a long sigh of relief, secretly grateful that Night Abyss knew how to see the bigger picture.

’If he were as jealous and clingy as Ying Jiuyao, she’d probably be driven crazy by their antics.’

"I’m going to learn how to cook too!"

Ying Jiuyao suddenly looked up, his Gilded Beast Eyes filled with a mixture of anxiety and a desire to please.

"I’m really smart, I learn things quickly! When I get back from the Black Canyon, I’ll make you a bento box full of love every day. It’ll be a hundred times more delicious than his cooking, I guarantee it!"

He counted on his claws. "Besides cooking, I’ll also learn how to clean and keep your room spotless."

"I’ll learn massage to help you relax your tense shoulders."

"I’ll learn cosmetology and make you up to be even more beautiful than the Star Network pageant winner!"

At this, he suddenly leaned in close, his nose almost touching her cheek, his voice thick with grievance.

"Everything that damn Poison Dragon can do, I’ll do too."

"And everything he can’t do, I’ll learn! So..."

His tail swished nervously, and his voice became extremely soft.

"Please don’t like him more than you like me, okay?"

Su An’an looked at the swirling anxiety in Ying Jiuyao’s eyes, and it felt as if someone had suddenly seized her heart.

She never thought that this flamboyant and domineering Big Cat could harbor such delicate and fragile feelings.

"Learn what? You’re already the most special. In my heart, no one can compare to you."

Su An’an soothingly stroked his fluffy ears and coaxed him softly, "Don’t say things like that ever again."

But Ying Jiuyao stubbornly buried his face in her neck, his voice muffled and tinged with an undeniable bitterness.

"But you used to hate Night Abyss so much. You said he was gloomy and dangerous."

He lifted his head, his Gilded Beast Eyes brimming with grievance.

"This time, you two fell into the Rotting Nest together, and you were even willing to sacrifice yourself to save him."

The Big Cat’s voice trembled as he held Su An’an tight.

"I wish I had been the one to go to the Rotting Nest with you."

"I could have done a better job than him. I would have protected you so well you never would have been in any danger in the first place."

Listening to the Big Cat’s aggrieved words, Su An’an’s heart ached as if it were being squeezed.

Both of her Beast Husbands were very important to her.

But the dejection in the Big Cat’s eyes made her flustered. She truly didn’t know what to do.

She opened her mouth, just about to comfort him.

But Ying Jiuyao suddenly threw his head back. "Just kidding!"
