The Villain Reborn as Game's Final Boss-Chapter 102: Bitter Taste
Spurt!
Spurt!
Spurt!
Wasting no time, each of my strikes ended a monster’s life.
My mana pressure had already crushed their hard shells, resulting in my blade slicing through their bodies easily.
My bracelet kept buzzing with every kill.
One.
Two.
Three...
One after the other, bodies fell apart.
Within a few seconds, nearly all of the early Silver cores were dead.
Swoosh!
With a swift motion, I appeared beside the peak Silver monsters that were moving through the chaos trying to locate me.
Aiming for one of the scorpion’s underbelly, I swung my sword, leaving a deep gash across its stomach.
The monster, even after having its belly sliced, couldn’t react in time, as I was constantly releasing my mana pressure.
Even though the monsters at Silver 3 were able to move under the effect of my mana pressure, their movements and reflexes were far slower than their original level.
Without waiting for the monster to make a move, I jumped across its body, piercing my sword through its neck on my way around.
Thud!
Its lifeless body fell to the ground.
I moved again.
This time, I was aiming to eliminate the Silver-ranked centipede that had clashed with me moments prior to releasing my mana pressure.
Looking at it, I could see the centipede trying to make a movement but was unable to move its body.
Unlike the scorpions, it didn’t have the advantage of a well-built body.
The monster relied mainly on diving into the sand to move through the desert.
Before my thoughts could end, I was already before the centipede’s body, my sword directly aimed at its skull.
Though the skull was the hardest part to damage, I had a strong urge to dominate this bastard.
The centipede seemed to have sensed my presence at the last moment, but it was too late.
My sword had pierced through its head.
Standing atop its body, I applied more pressure to move the sword deeper into its skull, my muscles flexing under the strain.
The centipede shook its head in pain — or at least it tried to.
As I was directly above its body, the mana pressure on the centipede had increased by several times.
It could no longer make any effective movements.
Taking my time, I tried my best to give the monster a painful death, but... its luck seemed to have shined.
The centipede’s body lost all of its vitality as my sword drained the monster’s life.
The other mid and peak Silver monsters had now adapted to my mana pressure.
Their movements no longer felt as sluggish as before.
Still, their speed was far inferior to their peak power.
I sat on the centipede’s dead body for a moment to take a look across the entire area.
Wherever my gaze moved, all I could see were corpses of the dead.
The scent of blood had filled the entire surroundings, and even the sand had turned a shade of red.
Sigh.
One moment I was over a dead body, and the next—
Spurt!
A Silver 2 scorpion found its head detached from its body.
The carnage had begun again.
Swoosh!
Clank!
Boom.
Spurt!
One after the other, I kept exchanging a series of attacks with the peak Silver monsters, while killing the ones at Silver 2 with ease.
The number of monsters had now dwindled significantly.
There were merely a few monsters left, all of them being at the peak of the Silver rank.
Swinging my sword in a circular arc, blood sprayed from across the blade’s surface.
The scorpions were now wary.
None of them charged at me. Instead, they began to circle around me, keeping their distance, waiting for one of their own to start the attack.
Honestly, I found the situation a little amusing. I had been killing their comrades since the start, but it was only now, after most of them had been killed, that the rest of these monsters were showing some signs of fear toward me.
Though I had begun to enjoy the situation, time wasn’t on my side.
I had to wrap this up real quick.
I wasn’t worried about my rank, as my team was guaranteed to place first on the scoreboard.
Still, leaving unfinished business left a bitter taste in my mouth.
As I took my first step, the monsters tensed around me.
But at the end of the day, all of them were beasts, and it was their primary instinct to devour anything other than themselves.
I moved toward the nearest one.
The monster, seemingly prepared for my attack, raised both its claws in a single fluid motion while charging at me at the same time.
I met its attack head-on... or at least pretended to.
Lightly touching the surface of its claws, I jumped over its body, directly positioning myself just before the scorpion’s tail.
Before it could spray its venom, I twisted my body downward, thrusting my sword into the creature’s back.
It shook its body in agony before standing on its legs.
Losing my balance, I caught onto the hard shell of the monster’s body, but that might have been a poor decision, as the creature’s tail came hammering down on me.
Clank!
I managed to deflect the attack with my sword, but the momentum threw me away from the monster. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
Landing on the ground, six more pairs of claws were directed at me.
Making a roll, I approached the injured monster again before piercing my sword from below its neck.
Not expecting an immediate attack, the scorpion couldn’t defend itself and lost its life in the process.
Though I was fairly stronger than these monsters even while being at the same rank...
A slight mismatch in my actions could lead me to losing my advantage.
After all, the monsters had bigger bodies than me, so clearly their area of attack was much larger than mine.
Swoosh!
My kill was followed by a rapid charge toward the circling monsters, who were trying their best to keep up with my movements.
