Chapter 207: Chapter 207: Plastic Sister Flowers

Jared Woods grunted, prying Chelsea Raines’s hand off his mouth. He took a huge gasp of air. "You’re the one who’s crazy! You said all those things!"

Chelsea Raines’s face darkened. "...I didn’t."

She couldn’t believe that the things she casually vented about at home would be memorized by Jared Woods, only for him to use them to backstab her in public.

Renee Jennings’s expression turned foul, her face as dark as a thundercloud. She could barely contain her rage. "What kind of job are you doing raising your child? He’s learned to slander people at such a young age? He’s just a little kid and already has a big mouth. Once he’s out in the world, people are going to eat him alive!"

Jared Woods had been spoiled his whole life and had never been publicly scolded like this. He shot to his feet, pointing a finger at Renee Jennings. "You’re yelling at me?! I’m going to get my grandma to beat you up! My grandma says that anyone who offends me will regret it!"

Renee Jennings was stunned for a moment before an even greater fury welled up inside her. "A child with no manners."

It made Chelsea Raines’s stomach turn to hear Renee Jennings speak about her son that way, but she knew Jared Woods was the one at fault. She smacked him sharply on the back and yelled, "Stop this nonsense! If you say another word, I’m throwing you out!!"

Jared Woods cried out in pain and started wailing, wiping his tears with his chubby little hands. "AH... You hit me! It hurts! I’m never talking to you again! I’m going to go find my grandma!!"

With that, he twisted his plump body around and ran off.

Chelsea Raines pressed her lips together, feeling a pang of regret. An unmistakable look of resentment crept into her eyes as she glanced at Renee Jennings. She called out Jared’s name, then ran out after him.

The chaotic scene had completely ruined Renee Jennings’s appetite. A heavy, frustrated feeling settled in her chest.

Nathan Lynch tilted his head, his fair, delicate face filled with curiosity. He asked, "What’s a ’homewrecker’?"

Renee Jennings clenched her fists, only releasing them when her palms began to ache. Facing the camera, she did her best to rein in her temper. "Nathan, don’t let Jared Woods lead you astray. That’s not a nice word."

"So what does it mean? Is it someone like you?"

Nathan Lynch looked a little lost, as if he was trying to think of a word to describe Renee Jennings.

"It’s not!" Renee Jennings snapped. "Don’t repeat that kind of trashy talk. If anyone else heard you, you’d be a laughingstock!"

She picked up her chopsticks and said coldly, "Eat."

[Why has Renee Jennings’s temper gotten so bad all of a sudden? She wasn’t like this before. Ever since this show started filming, her personality has gotten more and more unpredictable.]

[I agree. Maybe this is who she really is, and the reality show is just exposing it.]

[Why is everyone above me talking about Renee? Aren’t you missing the point? Isn’t that brat Jared Woods the one who’s in the wrong? What he said was so nasty, right? Who would be happy to hear that?]

[Chelsea Raines really needs to get her kid under control. He’s so spoiled he’s completely out of hand. And she shouldn’t speak without a filter in front of her child. How could Renee possibly be a homewrecker? Best Actor Lynch’s statement back then was very clear. He and Mona’s Mom divorced because their relationship fell apart, and only after that did he fall passionately in love with Renee. Then they got their marriage certificate.]

[Gotta say, Best Actor Lynch and Renee really had a whirlwind romance. I heard they got married less than a month after they met. Best Actor Lynch said that from the moment he met Renee, he knew he had met the person he wanted to protect and cherish for the rest of his life. So romantic!]

[Chelsea Raines and her son are just awful. Aren’t they just trying to drive a wedge between Renee Jennings and Nathan? Renee’s family of three is so happy and perfect!]

[Looks like Chelsea Raines must talk a lot of trash about Renee Jennings in private. What kind of person is that? You definitely can’t get close to someone like her.]

[Those two are total frenemies!]

...

After the lunch break ended, Naomi Kenway brought Ian back to the first-grade classroom. Since she had prepared the lesson in advance, teaching wasn’t difficult.

The children in the classroom were filled with curiosity, cautiously sizing up their new teacher. In contrast to Renee Jennings, who had worn a white dress that morning, Naomi Kenway’s appearance wasn’t as soft. She wore simple jeans and a plain white t-shirt, her bare arms as fair and smooth as pearls.

Her slightly wavy hair was held up by a wooden hairpin, and the longer strands at her forehead couldn’t hide her well-defined, striking features. However, her smile was beautiful, and the curve of her lips softened her seemingly unapproachable air.

The children’s initial caution disappeared. After two classes, they discovered that Naomi Kenway was actually a very gentle person who was always patient with them, tirelessly explaining some problems over and over again.

Sonny was focused on his book when he suddenly felt someone’s gaze on him.

Sonny looked to the side and saw Naomi Kenway staring at his hands. He immediately turned his head away, nearly burying his face in his book.

He had already washed his hands carefully several times, but some of the charcoal dust was stuck to them and hard to wash off, so it was still there.

The morning’s events were still vivid in his mind. The teachers and students from the city were all dressed so stylishly, which only intensified his feelings of inferiority.

"What happened to your hand?"

A gentle question came from his side.

Sonny froze and subconsciously turned his head to look at her.

Naomi Kenway had gone to the teacher’s desk, rummaged through her bag, and come back. She was holding a tube of ointment for bruises and sprains.

Naomi Kenway took Sonny’s hand. Seeing a purple bruise on it, she carefully applied the ointment. "How did this happen? You have to remember to protect yourself. After you put on the ointment, it will go away in a few days."

Finally, she placed the tube of ointment on Sonny’s desk. "Keep this, just in case."

With that, she turned and walked away.

Sonny picked up the white tube of ointment from his desk, and tears uncontrollably welled up in his eyes. He wiped them away fiercely with his other, uninjured hand and made up his mind to study hard.

’Sooner or later, I have to get out of these mountains and see the big city for myself. I have to see if the outside world is really full of towering skyscrapers and prosperity, just like Ms. Kenway said...’

Naomi Kenway took a stack of test papers from another teacher, Mr. Holloway, and then helped hand out the math test.

Ian Shaw suddenly raised his hand. "Teacher, Ian doesn’t have a paper!"

Mr. Holloway looked back at him and smiled. "You’re only in kindergarten, aren’t you? You don’t have to take the test."

After a moment’s thought, he found a children’s book in the reading corner and handed it to Ian Shaw. "Read this instead."

But Ian shook his head. "No, Ian wants to take the test."

Mr. Holloway looked troubled. "Well... the first-grade questions are a little difficult. Ian, let’s just read the storybook!"

Naomi Kenway walked over. "If he wants one, just give it to him."
