The Villain Mom Awakens — Going Viral by Parenting on a Reality Show-Chapter 161: Your Mother is Kiera Sherman?
Wayne Wyatt was playing a bit part in the show and only had a few lines, but his performance was still far from satisfactory.
His expression was stiff, and his biggest weakness was forgetting his lines, which led to repeated NGs.
"Cut!"
The assistant director walked up to him. "Noah, your acting... it’s just... I’m at a loss for words... I find it hard to believe you’re the son of an award-winning actor and actress. You’re the only child, aren’t you!"
Wayne Wyatt’s head drooped, and he seemed listless. "My parents’ acting ability doesn’t represent mine. Besides, I can survive without acting..." A note of resentment crept into his voice by the end. He didn’t like acting at all; the only reason he was here was that his parents had forced him into it.
"But... you come from an acting dynasty, for crying out loud. You should have picked up *something* just by being around it!" the assistant director exclaimed. "It doesn’t make sense. This makes absolutely no sense!"
"What’s so nonsensical about it? It’s perfectly normal, isn’t it?" What Wayne Wyatt hated most was the halo of his parents’ fame and the pressure that came with it, forcing him to do things he despised.
Suddenly, a cry of surprise came from nearby. The word was that the award-winning actress Kiera Sherman had arrived.
Kiera Sherman was dressed discreetly, one might even say plainly. She wore sunglasses, and a white veil concealed most of her face. Yet, her sheer presence easily outshone everyone else, making her impossible to ignore.
The people around them swarmed over, hoping to get an autograph from the legendary, internationally-acclaimed actress, but every single one of them was stopped by her bodyguards.
You couldn’t blame them for being so excited. Kiera Sherman was incredibly private. Since announcing her retirement from acting a few years ago, she had rarely appeared before the media, as if she had vanished into thin air. And yet, her legendary career continued to inspire generation after generation of new actors.
Naomi Kenway stood up as well. Her thoughts instinctively turned to Laura Grant; Kiera Sherman and Laura Grant had been longtime partners.
’But why would Kiera Sherman be here?’
Kiera Sherman first shook hands with Ruby Preston, offering a faint smile. "Director Preston, it’s been a while."
Ruby Preston couldn’t hide her excitement. "Keira, it’s too hot out here. Let me take you somewhere with some shade."
Kiera Sherman shook her head. "That’s not necessary. I just came to check on my good-for-nothing son."
"Noah? He’s on set acting right now," Ruby Preston said, pointing.
Her young assistant said, "Nina, that’s Kiera Sherman! Should we go get a closer look?"
Naomi Kenway nodded. Like the other actors, she was filled with immense admiration and curiosity for the legendary actress.
A crowd had formed several layers deep, leaving Naomi Kenway stuck on the periphery.
Ruby Preston noticed her and, using the excuse that she needed to discuss a scene, waved her into the inner circle.
Naomi Kenway thanked her.
Ruby Preston smiled. "It’s nothing. But your agent is Laura Grant, right? Have you never met Kiera Sherman?"
Naomi Kenway shook her head. She’d never even heard Laura Grant mention Kiera Sherman.
"That’s odd. They worked together for so many years, so you’d think they’d be on very good terms..."
Kiera Sherman walked up to Wayne Wyatt, took out a handkerchief, and wiped the sweat from his brow. "You certainly look like you’re working hard. I wonder if your performance reflects that?"
She glanced at the assistant director.
The assistant director looked awkward. "Noah’s performance is... pretty good."
Kiera Sherman understood. She gave a soft chuckle and shook her head.
Wayne Wyatt listened to the surrounding chatter. Everyone was saying how they envied him for having such a brilliant actress as a mother.
’But he couldn’t feel happy. His parents’ fame completely overshadowed him, forcing him to live in their shadow. Everyone’s judgment of him was always stereotypical and prejudiced:’
"The son of an award-winning actor and actress must be an acting prodigy, right?"
’But the truth was, he was a total dud when it came to acting; he even despised it. But no one cared what he wanted. They always preferred to impose their own arrogant assumptions on him, especially his parents.’
"Your scene isn’t finished, is it?" Kiera Sherman said. "Go on. I’ll be right here watching you. If there’s anything you don’t understand, you can come and ask me anytime."
Wayne Wyatt braced himself and went back to perform. Unsurprisingly, he botched the take several more times. He couldn’t even bring himself to look at his mother’s calm but disappointed eyes.
Finally, they got a good take. Wayne Wyatt was drenched in sweat.
This time, Kiera Sherman smiled as she wiped away his sweat. "See, son? As long as you try, you’ll always make progress." She glanced at the time. "It’s getting late. I’ll take you out to eat."
Wayne Wyatt couldn’t wait to leave.
As they were passing Naomi Kenway, Kiera Sherman paused. She tilted her head. "I know you. You’re the new talent Lily’s managing, aren’t you?"
She looked Naomi Kenway up and down with an approving gaze. "You have an excellent look. I trust Lily’s eye for talent. You must have great potential." 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
"You’re too kind." Naomi Kenway glanced at Wayne Wyatt, who stood behind his mother. ’I can’t believe his mother is the Kiera Sherman.’
Wayne Wyatt really didn’t want to endure a suffocating meal alone with Kiera Sherman. He shot Naomi Kenway a pleading look, then turned to his mother. "Mom, this is the lady I was telling you about. She’s so nice and has been helping me with a lot of things I don’t understand. It’s a bit of a coincidence, actually, but I already made plans to treat her to a meal to thank her, so I was thinking..."
Kiera Sherman smiled. "Is that so? What a pleasant coincidence. Helping you is the same as helping me. Miss Kenway, would you do us the honor of joining us for a meal?"
With the invitation phrased like that, Naomi Kenway could only agree.

The group arrived at a quiet and elegant restaurant. It was said to have excellent security, making it a favorite spot for many celebrities.
Kiera Sherman handed a menu to Naomi Kenway, her voice soft and gentle. "Please, see what you’d like to eat."
She had taken off her veil. Her face was immaculately maintained, though a few fine lines had appeared at the corners of her eyes. They didn’t make her look old; instead, they added a certain elegance and beauty that only comes with time.
Naomi Kenway didn’t stand on ceremony and ordered a few dishes.
Kiera Sherman’s tone was always soft and gentle, like a trickling stream. She began by expressing her gratitude to Naomi Kenway.
"Actually, the first time I became aware of you was from the clarification video released by the *Youth* production team. I was surprised by Wayne Wyatt’s performance in it. You are a truly captivating actress. I admire your work very much."
Surprised to receive such high praise from Kiera Sherman, Naomi Kenway smiled, her demeanor poised and graceful. "You flatter me."
Kiera Sherman smiled back.
Wayne Wyatt had no opportunity to chime in, so he just listened quietly while sipping his glass of milk.
Naomi Kenway naturally noticed the milk in Wayne Wyatt’s glass. "I didn’t realize you liked milk."
’Milk seemed a little out of place with Wayne Wyatt’s trendy, cool-guy image.’
Kiera Sherman smiled. "He’s at that growing age. He needs to drink plenty of milk to grow taller."
Naomi Kenway paused, taken aback. "How old is he?"
