Chapter 155: Chapter 155: Wreaking Havoc at the Birthday Banquet (4)

Jackson Kensington grimaced in pain. A look of sheer terror filled his eyes as he reflexively stared at Naomi Kenway, as if gazing upon a fanged monster.

He yelled, "You’re not Naomi! You’re not my daughter, Naomi Kenway! You’re a monster! A heartless monster!"

"Then tell me, who is Naomi Kenway supposed to be? Someone stupid and easy to manipulate? Someone you can beat and curse whenever you please? Or a pathetic tool for you to use and drain of all worth?!"

Jackson Kensington froze for a second, staring blankly at Naomi. His voice trembled from the pain in his shoulder. "You ungrateful child! I’m your father!"

Lorraine Warren snapped out of her daze with a horrified shriek, hastily telling the bodyguards behind her to get a doctor. She reached for Jackson but pulled her hand back, her beautifully maintained face filled with distress. "Jackson, are you alright? Just hang in there. Oh, you’re bleeding so much! I hope this doesn’t cause any permanent damage to your shoulder. Nicole went way too far..."

Jeanette Kensington suddenly rushed forward to confront Naomi, but before she could get close, she was blocked by Naomi’s bodyguards and held fast.

Hearing Lorraine’s words, a flicker of fear and worry crossed Jackson Kensington’s face. ’I’m getting old,’ he thought. ’If this shoulder is permanently damaged, won’t I be a cripple for the rest of my life?’

Caleb Bishop managed to free Jeanette, who then threw herself into Jackson’s arms, crying, "Dad, are you okay? Where’s the doctor?!"

The contrast between his two daughters only deepened Jackson Kensington’s resentment toward Naomi.

"Naomi, don’t you forget who raised you! You ungrateful brat!"

"My mother did! What have you ever done for me besides tear me down? In fact, let me remind *you*—who do you think you’re relying on to maintain your money and status right now?" Naomi’s eyes narrowed, brimming with fury.

"I usually turn a blind eye to your squandering, but you just had to cross my line..." Naomi’s voice was deceptively calm, but her eyes glinted with a sharp light. She picked up a bottle of champagne from a nearby table. She could still vividly picture Jackson and Lorraine, looking so smug as they raised their glasses filled with that same pale gold liquid.

The cold glass pressed against his neck. Jackson couldn’t stop trembling. He wanted to shrink back but didn’t dare, terrified of provoking Naomi further. ’She’s a complete lunatic,’ he thought.

"One more time, and I’ll smash this right here..."

She was pressing it against his carotid artery.

A ruthless smile touched Naomi’s lips. More than Lorraine or Jeanette, the person she truly hated was Jackson Kensington. This cowardly, incompetent bully of a father was the root cause of all her suffering.

Jackson trembled from head to toe. He only managed to gasp for air once she pulled the bottle away.

’Naomi’s gone mad!’

Jeanette supported the trembling Jackson. "Security?! Where’s security?! Get this troublemaker out of here!"

She yelled several times, but no one answered. Only when her throat was raw did she see the hotel manager finally saunter over.

"What is wrong with you people? Is this what you call service? Get her out of here! And where’s the doctor? Can’t you see my father is hurt?!"

However, the manager she had been waiting for walked straight to Naomi, bowed deeply, and asked, "Madam, do you have any further instructions?"

"Not at the moment."

The manager then stood by, waiting.

A complex, unreadable expression filled Jeanette’s pretty eyes. ’I can’t believe this hotel is one of the Shaw Family’s properties,’ she thought. ’The Shaw Family’s empire spans the globe, and they practically have a monopoly on real estate. To think the very hotel we booked belongs to them...’

"Jan, what do we do? Your father’s shoulder is still bleeding..." Lorraine’s voice was thick with tears.

The warmth was gone from Jeanette’s eyes as she looked at Naomi. "Nicole, can’t you stop being so stubborn? It’s true we were thoughtless, but Dad has lost so much blood. We need to get a doctor for him, now!" Her eyes were pleading. "This can’t wait."

"What’s the rush? It’s just a couple of smacks. He’s not going to die that easily," Naomi said, a memory seeming to surface as she spoke with pure malice.

"How can you be so cold-hearted?!" Jeanette demanded furiously.

Caleb Bishop stared at Naomi, a dazed look in his eyes, as if he were seeing her for the first time. During the two years they had dated, she had been a little headstrong and temperamental, but for the most part, she was compliant. ’When did she become like this?’ he wondered. ’Covered in spikes, ready to draw blood from anyone who gets too close.’

Only Jackson Kensington’s expression turned strange. The phrase Naomi had just used was, in fact, one of his own catchphrases.

Seeing how things were, he figured the hotel wouldn’t be providing any medical assistance. He quickly had Lorraine call 911; he was starting to feel dizzy.

Jeanette said, "You came here deliberately looking for trouble, and you assaulted someone." A pained look crossed her face. "I don’t want to do this, but Nicole, you’ve gone too far. I’m calling the police!"

With that, she pulled out her phone.

The butler’s expression grew stern, and he was about to order someone to stop her when Naomi held up a hand. She chuckled. "You want to call the police? Go ahead. But what crime is there to report? That Jackson Kensington smashed a bottle on his own shoulder?"

"What are you talking about? We all saw you do it!"

Naomi glanced at the hotel staff and asked calmly, "What did you all see?"

"We didn’t see anything!"

"See?" Naomi turned her gaze to Jeanette. "Filing a false report is a crime, you know."

Jeanette was furious. Her gaze swept across the hall. Most of the guests had left, but a few lingered, watching the spectacle.

Naomi’s next words shattered any illusions she had. "Do you really think any of them would choose to cross the Shaw Family for *you*?"

Jeanette froze. She already knew the answer.

The Kenway Family was a wreck; they were no longer a match for the Shaws. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚

’So we just have to swallow this humiliation?’

The situation infuriated Jackson as well. To think he had to tread carefully around Naomi.

"You’ll regret this one day! How long do you think the Shaw Family will put up with you? When you end up homeless, don’t come crying to me, because I won’t have a daughter named Naomi Kenway! The Kenway Group is still in my hands. What do you possibly gain by offending me?"

Naomi just laughed. According to her prophetic dream, even if she had tucked her tail between her legs and acted like an obedient puppet, Jackson would have abandoned her without a second thought.

Seeing that Naomi wasn’t responding, Jackson grew bolder with his insults. "If it weren’t for Ian, the Shaw Family would have kicked you out long ago! With that cold-blooded, bullying attitude of yours, let’s see how long you can stay smug. Sooner or later, you’ll be thrown out! You’re nothing but a discarded pawn. What right do you have to act so tough with me?!"

The next second, a collective gasp rose from the crowd below the stage.
