The Villain Mom Awakens — Going Viral by Parenting on a Reality Show-Chapter 129: Guest Star
"Mommy, what does it say?" Ian was still curious.
Naomi Kenway chuckled softly, unfolding the letter to share it with Ian.
Ian Shaw’s eyes went wide with amazement. "Wow, the drawing is so good! The big person is Mommy, and the little person is Ian, right?"
Naomi Kenway nodded with a smile.
In the time that followed, Naomi and Ian carefully read through all the letters. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
One letter writer even said she wanted to be Naomi’s daughter, calling Naomi tolerant and gentle—a dream mom.
Ian saw it too, of course. The bright smile on his face vanished instantly. He hugged Naomi’s arm and said plaintively, "No..."
Ruby Preston also opened her letters. Beside her, Simon Sawyer sat quietly, seeming uninterested in the whole affair.
Ruby earnestly scanned the fan mail. Most of it was full of supportive words, saying they loved the movies she directed. Suddenly, her fingers froze, and she held up a letter.
Completely different from the praise in the previous letters, this last one advised her to spend more time with Sean. It said that while Sean was very mature, he was also very lonely...
The words hit her like a sledgehammer. Ruby knew, of course, that she had missed a large part of her son’s childhood, but the sharp-tongued letter made her realize her actions were even worse than she’d imagined.
Simon Sawyer turned his head in confusion. "Mom, why do you keep staring at me?"
Ruby’s thoughts were a mess. She asked tentatively, "Son, is Mommy..." The words were on the tip of her tongue, but she didn’t know how to continue.
Outside of work, she had tried everything she could to get into the topics her son was interested in, but the results were always poor. Simon Sawyer was precocious; it seemed he hadn’t needed her for a long time. But through this letter, from a third-person perspective, she was reading about a different "Simon Sawyer."
Renee Jennings eagerly tore open her letters, but their contents were drastically different from what she had expected.
Three of the five letters were scolding her, saying she was irresponsible and didn’t care about Nathan Lynch. Others were more tactful but still advised her not to treat her child like a study machine.
Renee Jennings resisted the urge to rip the letters to shreds. She suspected the production team was doing this deliberately to mess with her.
"Were all these letters handpicked by you guys?" she asked through gritted teeth.
The tour guide was taken aback for a moment, then replied, "No, it was completely random. However, these letters were all written by very active, high-level fans from the livestream. Renee, is there a problem?"
Renee Jennings’s heart skipped a beat. "No..."
Randomness was a mysterious thing, but since the letters contained voices of contempt, it meant her performance on the livestream had been less than satisfactory.
Renee’s heart tightened. ’Looks like I’ll have to be more careful for a while. I’ll figure out a way to clean up my image when I get back.’
Renee wiped the sweat from her forehead. Remembering something, she took out a handkerchief to wipe Nathan Lynch’s sweat. "Nathan, are you hot?"
She expected to see a touched expression in Nathan Lynch’s eyes, but instead, he looked at her with pure vigilance.
’Things are getting more and more out of control.’
Renee put away the handkerchief, cursing Naomi Kenway countless times in her head. She just knew it. Every time Nathan Lynch spent some time with Naomi, he would become rebellious and disobedient.
The tour guide asked with a smile, "Now that you’ve read the letters, I wonder what everyone is feeling?"
The guests all had smiles on their faces, except for Ruby Preston and Renee Jennings, whose expressions were a bit strange.
"As you can all see, there are villagers setting up a stage near the square, and others are hanging colorful ribbons on the trees. This is all in preparation for Warren Isle’s upcoming ’Village Feast.’ The people of Warren Isle have been fishermen for generations. Every year in August, they hold a village feast, which is a veritable seafood extravaganza. There will also be performances by talented villagers, so everyone can enjoy themselves to the fullest!"
Margaret Jennings asked hesitantly, "So our task is just to eat, eat, eat? That can’t be right..."
"Of course..." The tour guide’s tone shifted as he chuckled. "Of course not! Your task is to perform with the villagers—singing and dancing to celebrate the Village Feast together!"
Chelsea Raines was the first to frown. "This... I don’t think I have any special talents. Does the... Does the Village Feast need a host?"
The tour guide gave a mysterious smile. "We’ve taken that into consideration, which is why we’ve specially invited an off-site guest to help everyone practice for the performance!"
All the guests held their breath in unison, filled with anticipation for this mysterious off-site guest.
[This damn show, when will it stop with the suspense!]
[Who is it? *Super Mom* is so popular, the guest they invited probably isn’t some small-time celebrity!]
[They’re doing a great job keeping this a secret. Not even the guests know, and neither do we.]
[My wild guess is the show-off Luke Lowell, but he wouldn’t be much help if he came, would he?]
...
Naomi Kenway applauded along with everyone else, but her gaze was somewhat distant.
A figure in a long white dress captured everyone’s attention. The hem of the skirt was embroidered with elegant gardenias.
Naomi Kenway’s applause faltered. She narrowed her eyes slightly.
"Long time no see. I’m Jeanette. I hope we can all have a wonderful time together in the days to come!" Jeanette Kensington bowed, a gentle smile on her lips.
She was as delicate and gentle as a gardenia, easily winning over everyone’s goodwill.
Only Naomi Kenway knew that beneath that pure and gentle facade hid a venomous, festering malice.
The moment Jeanette Kensington appeared, all the livestream chats were spammed by her fans. The screen was a solid wall of "Jeanette, I love you."
Jeanette Kensington had only recently returned to the country, but she already had a massive fanbase comparable to a top-tier star. Before her return, her girl group had been a huge hit all across Hansea. After coming back and signing with a top agency, she was naturally showered with resources and heavily promoted.
The other guests were all welcoming toward such a person.
But Renee Jennings’s eyelid twitched. With just one glance, she knew this mysterious off-site guest had a similar "persona" to her own. A sense of crisis and disgust surged within her.
As if noticing Renee Jennings’s gaze, Jeanette Kensington gave her a faint smile.
Renee subconsciously looked down at her own clothes. She was also wearing a white dress. ’Looks like Jeanette’s team will almost certainly use this to drag me down.’
Jeanette Kensington greeted all the guests. When she got to Naomi Kenway, she paused for a moment, her smile deepening. "Nicole, when I found out I’d be on the same stage as you, I was so excited I couldn’t sleep all night."
Renee Jennings sensitively picked up on her words. "You know Naomi Kenway? What’s your relationship?"
Jeanette Kensington chuckled softly, but before she could speak, Naomi Kenway cut in, "No relationship. We’ve just met a few times."
Renee Jennings clearly didn’t believe her.
Jeanette Kensington looked somewhat hurt. "Nicole, you... why are you being like this..."
