The Villain Mom Awakens — Going Viral by Parenting on a Reality Show-Chapter 119: The Terrible House No. 5
The guests set out with their children to find their houses. With no specific directions, it meant they would likely have to search the entire Warren Isle village.
After walking for a while, Naomi Kenway felt a little tired. She bent down to pick Ian up, but to her surprise, he refused.
"No! Don’t carry me!"
"Why?" Naomi Kenway’s throat was a little dry, and she swallowed instinctively.
Ian’s cheeks were flushed, and Naomi Kenway noticed he had just been panting. Her heart instantly ached for him.
"Aren’t you tired, Ian?"
Ian shook his head and said firmly, "But Mommy is tired too. I don’t want Mommy to carry me. I’m a big boy now, I can walk by myself!"
Naomi Kenway froze, hesitating. In the moment she was pondering this, Ian had already run off with his little backpack, putting some distance between them.
"Ian!"
Ian looked back. "See, Mommy? I’m... not tired at all!" he declared, patting his little chest reassuringly while panting slightly.
Naomi Kenway couldn’t help but laugh, her heart completely melting.
Words Ethan Shaw had once said echoed in her mind. Naomi Kenway knew she had to let Ian learn to be independent and grow up. She had to learn to let go of her excessive worries, as they might be holding back Ian’s development.
Seeing that Naomi Kenway hadn’t moved, Ian Shaw ran back and took her hand. "Mommy, are you too tired? How about I hold your hand?"
"I really want to grow up fast. That way, I can carry Mommy, and you won’t be so tired."
Naomi Kenway couldn’t help but wonder what Ian would be like when he grew up. ’He already looks so much like Ethan Shaw, like he was cast from the same mold. When he grows up, will he look exactly like Ethan Shaw too?’
An image of Ethan Shaw’s face surfaced in her mind.
’That... wouldn’t be so bad.’
The exchange between mother and son was overheard by the other guests nearby. Margaret Jennings smiled and said, "Ian really is such a good, devoted son."
"Me too!" Carina Sanders tugged on Margaret Jennings’s sleeve. "I’m a good and devoted child too!"
"Yes, yes, of course you are," Margaret Jennings said with a laugh, draping an arm over Carina Sanders’s shoulder.
The group continued on, talking and laughing, and soon found "House No. 3." From the outside, they could see a grand, festive mahogany door with a flag next to it bearing the number "3."
"We finally found it," Ruby Preston said. "Let’s all take turns trying our spells to see whose it is."
Naomi Kenway nodded. "This house looks pretty nice."
Carina Sanders stepped forward and loudly recited the spell from her card, but the door didn’t move an inch.
Margaret Jennings patted her on the shoulder comfortingly. "It’s not this one. Let’s keep looking."
Ian recited his spell too, but alas, it wasn’t a match either.
Finally, with a shout from Jared Woods, the door was opened by a crew member... by hand.
"House No. 3" belonged to Chelsea Raines and her son.
Chelsea Raines said happily, "This house is pretty clean, and it seems nice. We don’t have to run around the village anymore. Jared, our luck is pretty good!"
With that, the mother and son picked up their luggage and went inside.
The other guests rested for a moment, after which Ruby Preston suggested, "Let’s keep moving."
The guests picked up their luggage and continued onward.
"House No. 5" was close to "House No. 3," and after walking for just a few minutes, the guests spotted another home.
"Ugh, it’s so run-down! And what is that smell? Are they keeping livestock in the yard?" Margaret Jennings asked, pinching her nose.
The house before them was utterly dilapidated. Its iron gate was rusted through and even had a large hole in it. Through the gap, they could glimpse the yard inside, where yellowed, shriveled leaves were piled high, clearly having been left untouched for a very long time.
A "MOO" rang out, confirming there was indeed a cow inside.
Carina Sanders frowned. "Mommy, I don’t want to live here!"
None of the guests looked pleased, but they still had to test their spells.
Naomi Kenway’s heart began to pound. She felt Ian clutch the hem of her clothes, so she reached down and took his hand.
Ruby Preston and Margaret Jennings recited their spells, but the dilapidated gate didn’t budge. Both women breathed a sigh of relief.
Naomi Kenway cleared her throat and recited her own spell.
One second, two seconds, three seconds...
Thankfully, the door didn’t open.
So, this house...
Margaret Jennings looked around. "Strange, where did Renee go? I guess this house... must be hers!"
Ruby Preston said thoughtfully, "I told her to try her spell a moment ago, but she just glanced inside and then left."
Margaret Jennings was incredulous. "She just left, like that? She knew for certain it wasn’t her house just from one glance?!"
Ruby Preston nodded slowly. "How about this: when we run into her, we’ll tell her to come back. It’ll save her from wasting so much energy searching for it."
[House No. 5 is as terrifying as ever, hahaha...]
[Why is Renee running away so fast? Isn’t she going to have to come back later anyway?]
[I’m a little curious, why does Renee Jennings think House No. 5 is definitely not her place? Where on earth does this confidence come from? I understand her less and less.]
[The tables have turned. Renee Jennings lived in that nice little villa during the first season, but now she can’t escape the fate of House No. 5.] 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

A little further on was "House No. 1." Ian recited his spell, and the main gate opened with the help of a crew member.
It had a spacious and bright courtyard, with several grapevines twined in the corners, their grapes like little green gems.
"This place looks great," Margaret Jennings said. "Nina, hurry and take your son inside to rest. You’ve walked so much; it must have been exhausting."
Naomi Kenway didn’t go in immediately. "Ruby, Margaret, why don’t you two come in and rest for a bit? You must be exhausted from walking so far."
The two of them nodded and followed Naomi Kenway into "House No. 1."
It was clear the owner was a person of refined taste; the yard was filled with flowers and fruit trees.
Pushing the door open, they saw that the main room was just as clean and spacious. It was fully furnished, and on the table sat a vase of fresh roses, their petals still dotted with dew.
After looking around the house, Ruby Preston praised, "This is a really nice house. I hope the one we drew is like this too."
Ruby Preston and Margaret Jennings sat down for a glass of water before picking up their suitcases and setting off again.

The weather here was cool, but Renee Jennings was still sweating from all the walking.
"Mommy, I’m so tired..." Nathan Lynch’s lips were a little pale.
Nathan Lynch was prone to allergies and physically frail. ’I can’t risk anything,’ Renee Jennings thought, ’otherwise I’ll just get chewed out by all those self-righteous netizens again.’
She bent down to pick Nathan up, but she had so little strength left that she simply couldn’t lift the boy and had to give up.
The road here was uneven and covered in small stones, so having Nathan sit on a suitcase was out of the question.
