Chapter 1499: Chapter 1499: The Other Side Is Warning Her, a Brazen Face Slap

Ellen Quarles stood up from the sofa in frustration, ready to grab her phone and find someone to investigate.

Her brother’s phone call came in just then.

Ellen quickly picked it up: "Hello."

Her mind was full of the arms dealer’s affair, eager to question Charles Quarles.

"Brother, do you know if there’s any connection between the Red Alliance and the Yandor Sect?"

Very few people were aware that Nathalie Quinlan was the Sun of the Red Alliance.

She only learned this after the Quarles Family suffered setbacks in the Illegal Zone, but she hadn’t mentioned it to anyone, just understood it herself.

She originally thought Nathalie could sit in the top seat of the Red Alliance simply because she had an astonishing talent in hacking.

Now it seems things aren’t as simple as she thought.

Nathalie isn’t as ordinary as she appears...

Ellen gritted her teeth unwillingly, her sharp eyes revealing a cold glint. She held her phone tightly, her heart a mess, completely unable to understand how a seemingly ordinary girl from McKinney could stir up such chaos domestically, to the point where even she couldn’t see through her.

"Red Alliance and Yandor Sect?" Charles Quarles had something to discuss with her, but hadn’t had the chance before she asked him, clearly puzzled: "What connection could there be... The Red Alliance’s power is mainly around the Illegal Zone, while Yandor Sect’s power is primarily in Inderia. I’ve never heard of any links between the Red Alliance and Yandor Sect."

No connection between them?

Ellen’s tightly strung heart sank, her brow furrowed, evidently disbelieving.

Charles asked: "Why did you suddenly ask about this, what happened?"

Ellen, her mind in turmoil, didn’t want to tell him: "I just suddenly thought to ask you, it’s nothing."

"I thought you might have encountered something. Since you’re alright, I’m relieved." Charles’s voice faded away as he finished speaking.

Ellen adjusted her mood and asked him on the phone: "By the way, did you need something from me, brother?"

She walked back, picked up the black tea on the table again, and took a sip, calming herself slightly.

The tea cup hadn’t even been set down when she heard Charles speak in a somber tone: "I was in a minor car accident on the road. Someone forced my car to stop, then two big men got out. I don’t know who they were. They told me if next time we rashly ’invite’ someone to the house, it won’t be so simple."

"I have no idea what they were talking about. I asked them, but they didn’t explain to me..."

Ellen’s fingers holding the teacup turned white, her dignified face flushed with anger, her voice trembling: "You say someone stopped you in the middle of the road and threatened you?"

"...Not exactly a threat, I suspect they mistook me for someone else. I don’t understand what they meant." Charles’s tone remained light, clueless about the earlier incident in the U.S.

Ellen, however, understood this wasn’t an accident.

It was a warning to her!

A blatant slap in the face!

Her lips turned pale, a faint vein appearing on her forehead. She tried her best to stay calm while speaking to Charles: "Yes, it should be an accident."

Ellen finished speaking but couldn’t help reminding him: "Brother, be careful lately and arrange a few more bodyguards for yourself."

Charles listened to his sister’s advice, smiled gently, and said on the phone: "Alright, and you take care of yourself too, I’m hanging up now."

Ellen uttered a soft ’Hmm’ and waited for Charles to end the call.

The smile she had barely maintained at the corners of her lips instantly faded, almost unable to suppress her anger, and she slammed the phone onto the ground with a crack.
