Chapter 1239: Chapter 1239: Not Uncle Alienating Their Family

After Hendrik Zachmann left the hotel, he immediately made a phone call to Celine Tucker. Upon learning that Celine was at home, he drove back to The Zachmanns’ Mansion.

On the way back, he also made a call to Audrick Zachmann.

During the call with Audrick, Hendrik inquired about some things related to Nathalie Quinlan.

As Audrick talked on the phone about Nathalie Quinlan and Caryn Zachmann, Hendrik’s handsome face gradually grew somber.

It wasn’t until the car reached the front gate of the mansion that Hendrik finally said in a deep voice to the person on the other end of the line, "I’m home. Let’s talk later."

With that, Hendrik hung up the phone.

He unfastened his seatbelt, opened the car door, and walked into the house with a face as calm as water.

"Young Master, you’re back." The Zachmann Family’s servant saw him return and hurriedly went to offer him slippers.

Hendrik took large strides inside and at once saw Celine Tucker applying a facial mask in the living room.

Celine was wearing silk nightwear, her hair tied up, with green seaweed mud applied on her face. As soon as she saw Hendrik return, she gracefully put down the skincare cream she was applying, smiling warmly, "Hendrik, you’re back? What do you want to eat tonight, I’ll have the maid buy it."

Hendrik didn’t speak, frowning, as he watched Celine wave a servant over, skillfully instructing them to buy the dishes he liked.

Hendrik’s face grew increasingly solemn, his thin lips pressed tightly together, and he walked over without expression to say to Celine, "Mom, I have something to say."

Celine directed the servant, "Buy these first, take the phone with you, and I’ll call you if I remember anything else."

"Alright, ma’am." The servant, sensing the tense atmosphere in the house, went to the kitchen, took her things, and immediately left.

Once the servant left, Celine leisurely picked up a wet tissue from the tea table, wiping her face and asking Hendrik, "What do you want to tell me?"

She tossed the wet tissue smeared with seaweed mud into the trash bin, suspiciously saying, "I wanted to ask you earlier on the phone if something was wrong. You called in such a hurry—what happened?"

Seeing Celine’s well-maintained face full of deep concern for him, Hendrik felt as if an invisible hand gripped his throat, making it a bit hard to speak.

"What’s wrong with you, not saying a word." Celine grew even more concerned, stepping closer, patting his shoulder, and anxiously saying, "Hendrik, didn’t you say you had something to tell me?"

The expression on Hendrik’s face was complex. He took a deep breath and asked in a deep voice, "Mom, do you know that Nathalie Quinlan signed up for the world software competition?"

At the mention of this, the concern on Celine’s face quickly turned to indifference. Out of respect for Hendrik, her most proud son, she showed a bit of patience, managing not to show her anger: "Why are you asking about this? It’s not something you should be concerned with. She has nothing to do with us!"

Hendrik felt a chill in his heart from his mother’s cold and unfeeling words, as if a bucket of cold water was poured over his head.

Ice-cold to the core.

Audrick had indeed not lied to him. It wasn’t Nathalie who excluded their family; it was their family excluding the elder uncle’s family.

"Caryn told me Nathalie didn’t know anything about computers and only got the contest spot through connections just for show..." Hendrik said, then paused, observing the changing expressions on Celine’s face: "I just found out that Nathalie passed the preliminary round and became the only domestic representative to enter the group stage in recent years." 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

Immediately, Celine raised her head, her face full of astonishment: "What did you say?"

Hendrik’s deep voice delivered a heavy blow to her: "Nathalie took first place in the first round of the competition. Out of 16 national contestants, she was the only one to advance."
