The Unveiling of Secret Queen-Chapter 1129: Caryn Zachmann Exposed on the Spot
Under Caryn Zachmann’s own social media account, quite a few people started leaving comments.
"Your brother said you weren’t Lighten Chaser, so are you Lighten Chaser or not?"
"Speak up, are you offline or something?"
"Oh my god, if what Audrick posted on Twitter is true, this is hilarious. You impersonated someone at the school anniversary celebration right in front of the actual person, and then lost but couldn’t accept it and stirred up drama. What a magnificent white lotus you are."
"True Wealthy and Beautiful."
...
Outside Tsinghua University, in a coffee shop playing soothing and mellow music, Caryn Zachmann, who had caused this whole situation to escalate beyond control, was still sitting by a window seat, leisurely sipping her coffee. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
She shut off her phone to avoid receiving more calls from Mr. Zachmann, not wanting to deal with him yet unable to decline.
At the same time, with one hand holding her coffee cup, she lowered her gaze to take a sip, raised her head, and in a rather composed mood, started chatting with Sherrina Yacoub, who was seated across from her: "Why’d you pick this spot? The manually ground coffee here uses average beans, and the flavor is rather lacking."
Caryn spoke while putting down her coffee cup. She flashed a slight smile, her brows relaxed, and a trace of arrogance gleamed in her eyes and subtle expressions. "If you really want coffee, I’ll take you to Rivendell next time. The coffee master there truly knows how to craft authentic mocha coffee. His latte art is gorgeous too~"
"Alright." Sherrina, who had studied abroad from a young age and had a bold, straightforward personality, readily agreed. She picked up her phone enthusiastically and said, "By the way, Caryn, I remember you started a personal Twitter account some time ago. Why not follow me back?"
Caryn furrowed her brows slightly, caught off guard: "What do you mean? Didn’t I already follow you on Twitter?"
"Oh, I’m not talking about your main account, I mean the Lighten Chaser account!" Sherrina was visibly excited. "I didn’t expect that you were Lighten Chaser. That account hasn’t followed anyone yet, right? It seems like it’s only following your brother. Follow me too, will you? Then I’ll follow you back, and maybe I’ll gain some followers thanks to you."
Technically speaking, Sherrina was a genuine Wealthy and Beautiful type, and strictly speaking, the Yacoub Family’s standing was even slightly better than the Zachmann Family’s.
Though she claimed she wanted Caryn to follow her for the sake of gaining followers, it was really just a playful gesture—she wanted to flaunt having such a badass friend, being one of the select few friends featured on Caryn’s follow list would undoubtedly boost her social clout!
But hearing her words, Caryn involuntarily placed her cup on the table, sitting a little awkwardly: "I, my phone’s out of battery. Maybe next time."
"I think there’s a charging cable here. Let me ask the boss to grab one for you." Sherrina didn’t take it seriously and was just about to wave down a waiter.
Caryn’s heart skipped a beat, a wave of anxiety like nearly being exposed surged through her. She stopped Sherrina quickly and promised, "Sherrina, I’ll follow you when I’m back home!"
"Why do you have to wait until you’re home to follow? Can’t you just do it now?"
Sherrina found it puzzling why Caryn wouldn’t follow her at this moment.
But her carefree personality kept her from thinking too deeply about it. She just saw Caryn as being unnecessarily particular and said, "Alright then, I’ll follow you first. Make sure you follow me back once you’re home."
Caryn felt quite irritated, grunted in annoyance, and thought about crafting a reasonable excuse later to brush Sherrina off.
At that moment, Sherrina, who had been browsing her phone to pull up Caryn’s ’main account’ to follow, suddenly reacted in a way that was colorful yet stunned. She looked back at her phone in disbelief, and then abruptly her expression stiffened, cooling down as she placed her phone in front of Caryn.
"Take a look at this."
"What am I looking at? Gossip?"
Caryn picked up Sherrina’s phone with a clueless look on her face, initially dismissive. But as she scrolled, her face grew paler and her expression increasingly agitated.
Her mind went almost blank, putting the phone down instinctively, completely ignoring Sherrina’s reaction, and hastily turning her own powered-off phone back on.
Straight away, she received a text message from Stanley Zachmann.
[Caryn, come home. I’ll be waiting for you.]
