Chapter 1089: Chapter 1089: Is Nathalie the Mining Tycoon of the Illegal Zone?

Little handsome guy... For the first time ever, Sadam Vinson found someone intentionally adding the word ’little’ before ’handsome guy’. He didn’t have a chance to refute it before the person came and went in a flash, disappearing around the corner of the hallway.

Meanwhile, Alfred Garland heard voices at the door. Seeing that Sadam hadn’t returned for a while, he walked over and loudly asked, "Mr. Vinson, who’s outside?"

"No idea."

Sadam looked at the gloves tossed into his arms, somewhat baffled, yet oddly intrigued. He turned and called out, "Come over and help me move a box."

*

Ten minutes later.

The box left at the doorway was opened.

Sadam, Alfred, and the rest gathered around the opened box, pairs of eyes staring wordlessly. It took a while for them to snap out of it.

Inside the box, several small containers were neatly arranged, with the names of various materials clearly labeled on them.

Titanium, Vanadium, Cesium, Lanthanum...

They were all rare metals that the group had come to the Illegal Zone specifically to bid on in the auction.

At this point, the auction had moved on to the grand finale item.

The metal ’Lanthanum’ was currently being bid on, with the price skyrocketing from eight figures to nine figures. Judging by the constant sounds of escalating bids at the auction site, it was likely to go even higher.

Yet here they were, with an entire box of such expensive metals delivered to them!

Alfred struggled to close his hanging jaw. With an astonished expression, he stared deeply at Sadam, who looked equally dumbfounded. "Mr. Vinson, where did you get this stuff?"

Sadam’s face mirrored that of someone who’d seen a ghost. He spread his hands wide: "I have no clue."

"Someone just knocked on the door, so I went to open it. I found a woman standing there. She didn’t say who she was, just mentioned she was here to deliver something to us, left the box, and then walked away. I asked her who sent it, but she didn’t answer."

"Oh, wait, she did say something," Sadam’s expression turned complicated as he caught the curious gazes from Alfred and the others. He swallowed dryly. "She said it was from the God of Wealth."

Alfred, Wallace Radcliff, and Mario Cagwin: "..."

Goddamn God of Wealth!

But, as their gazes shifted back to the box on the table, considering its astronomical value, they silently swallowed their urge to rant.

Delivering such an extravagant gift outright... To be fair, calling it a gift from the God of Wealth wasn’t entirely inaccurate.

Alfred still couldn’t wrap his head around it. He turned to the only composed man in the room and, pressing his lips together, finally succumbed to his curiosity. "Amadeus, do you know who sent all this?"

Amadeus Yancey had already been on a video call.

Upon hearing this, he raised his brow slightly, his gaze darkening. He didn’t respond immediately, so much so that Alfred assumed he didn’t know. Then, moments later, Amadeus lazily replied, "There are many people in the Illegal Zone working in the rare metals business."

Sadam and Alfred were left with a heap of question marks: ? 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

And so?

In a calm tone, he continued, "But there’s only one person skilled in purifying rare metals."

Sadam recalled his earlier conversation with Brian Bonette and the research he’d done beforehand. He promptly made the connection, "You mean the legendary Mining Tycoon of the Illegal Zone?"

"Mm," Amadeus responded indifferently.

Frowning, Sadam pinched the bridge of his nose. "Doesn’t add up. Why would this person deliver something so valuable to us?"

"Amadeus, do you know this Mining Tycoon?" He tilted his head to look at the refined man sitting on the sofa, grasping for some plausible explanation.

Amadeus didn’t directly answer the question but, after a moment of thought, gave a slight nod towards Alfred. "Check the surveillance footage from the hallway."

He didn’t know the person, yet the delivery had been deliberately addressed to him. Also, the contents of the gift were strikingly coincidental—precisely what they’d been searching for...

It was a coincidence almost too good to be true.

Amadeus had a faint suspicion brewing in his heart, but he needed more information to confirm it.
