Chapter 590: Chapter 590

Taylor clenched her fists so tightly that her long fingernails dug deep into her palms. "It depends on who the angel meets. If an angel meets another angel, then it’ll be heaven. But if the angel meets a demon, it’ll go to hell... He was the one who sent me there!"

"Miss, you... Wait a minute..." Joanna’s mind was a mess. Feeling bewildered, she asked Taylor in confusion, "You betrayed him and stabbed him, but you also said that he was a demon who pulled you down to hell... Is that right?"

"Yes, that’s right." Taylor nodded vigorously, unashamed of what she had done.

"Well, you’re being unreasonable. How can you shift the blame to him?" Joanna argued.

"What do you know? No one knows about my past with him, so none of you know how he dragged me to hell."

"Do you mind telling me then? It seems like both of you are troubled by something... maybe I can help?" Joanna felt that the woman she had heard about was not that unreasonable and

ruthless. There had to be some kind of misunderstanding.

"Who the hell are you? Why should I tell you my secret?" Taylor narrowed her eyes at Joanna. Ever since Joanna mentioned Quinton, she had been suspicious of her.

"I’m..." At first, Joanna wanted to say that she was Quinton’s sister, but after seeing how much Taylor hated him, that seemed like a bad idea. "I’m Liam’s girlfriend. I’m here to save you, so I need you to trust me. Tell me your story."

"Liam’s girlfriend?" Taylor sat up straight and tried to see Joanna’s face in the dim light. She sounded very envious. "So, you’re the first love that Liam yearned for. I wonder how charming you are to make a man love you so deeply. Unfortunately, we’re in the dungeon, so I can’t really see you..."

"Ah..." Joanna touched her hair awkwardly, secretly cursing Liam and how talkative he was.

Why did he tell everyone his story? So much for wanting to travel the world-it felt more like he just wanted to go around and tell people about his love life!

"Yeah, it’s not easy to be with him. When he came back, he told me that it was because of your help that he was able to escape from the red-light district, and decided to become a committed man. So, he won’t stand by and do nothing either since you’re in trouble now.’

"I know that he’s a loyal friend. He managed to leave this fort back then by paying a heavy price..." Taylor heaved a long sigh and shook her head." He’s so silly. How dumb! He shouldn’t have come back just to save me... A person like me doesn’t deserve such kindness."

"Don’t say that! I believe that you’re an angel. You might have made a mistake, but I’m sure you have your reasons. I’ll try to take you back to the City so you can talk it out with Night Demon and resolve the issue between the both of you," Joanna said quickly, becoming slightly impatient.

This made Taylor doubtful. She frowned and said, "You claim that you’re Liam’s girlfriend, but you can’t stop bringing up my brother. What’s your relationship with him?"

"I... I am..." Joanna did not know if she should tell the truth.

"It’s okay, I don’t really care. I don’t want to have anything to do with him. What’s more, I won’t leave this place. I’m as good as dead." After that, Taylor closed her eyes and leaned against the wall in despair.

"Er... that..." When Joanna noticed Taylor’s intention of letting it all go to hell, she was in a dilemma. When a person had lost all hope, it would be near impossible to save them.

"If you don’t leave, you’ll meet a miserable end. Even if you manage to stay alive, the

master will torture you. Have you ever thought about the consequences?" Joanna patiently tried to persuade Taylor.

"Yeah, I’m aware of that but I don’t care. If I was afraid of death, I wouldn’t have betrayed him. I can’t bear his lawless behaviour, so I hope that I can do something nice before I die to make up for the mistakes I made," Taylor said absently. She had long lost all hope to survive. When she recalled the things she did in the past, as well as the things she had

experienced, she lost her desire to live. She no longer recognized herself.

"You want to make up for your mistakes, so it proves that you haven’t given up all hope.

There’s still something you can’t let go of... So, don’t just give up on yourself, okay? We’ll get out of this place together." In the dark, Joanna extended her hand towards Taylor.

"Even if you won’t do it for yourself, do it for me. Let’s escape together. Can you do that for me?"

"No, I don’t want to!" Taylor refused, turning away from Joanna firmly. Her heart had broken when she jumped into the sea with Quinton-now, she just existed.

After the incident, she had wandered into the red-light district. Many people had humiliated her there, which instilled a deep hatred in her heart. She hated the world, and she hated herself even more.

"Wow, you’re really..." Joanna sighed exasperatedly. She wanted to comment on how stubborn Taylor was, but decided against it. She demanded, "Don’t tell me you have no regrets! Isn’t there anyone you want to see again?"

"A person I want to see again?"

"Yes! Imagine if you could see one person before you die, so that you could die without regrets. Wouldn’t that be nice?" Joanna finally asked.

Unexpectedly, Taylor responded to the question hesitantly. "You’re right. I do care about someone. For so many years, I’ve yearned to see him again. I can die in peace after meeting him."

"Really? Who do you want to meet? It’s Night Demon, isn’t it? I know that you still care about him." Joanna’s eyes lit up and she became excited. It seemed like the great reconciliation she wanted would finally happen!

"Of course not! The one I want to see is the president of Moran group, Ace Moran," Taylor responded bluntly.

Joanna’s smile stiffened, and she was dumbfounded.

Did she hear Taylor wrong? The person Taylor wanted to see again before she died...

was also the scumbag who had lied to her and manipulated her.

"The only person I feel that I’ve wronged is Mr. Moran. Unfortunately... I didn’t manage to say sorry to him. I..."

"Please stop." Joanna immediately stopped Taylor’s confusing words." Miss, you can tell me if you were fooled and bewitched by Mr. Moran. I can help you. Don’t you know that he lied to you and manipulated you?"

If she managed to bring Taylor back to the City but Taylor went to see Ace instead

of Quinton, ’the great reconciliation’ might become ’the great war’ instead...

The very idea of it was terrifying.

On the other hand, both Liam and Amber were taking a walk under the moonlight. However, he was ill at ease and engulfed in anxiety.
