The Unstoppable Comeback Of the Unrivaled Ex-Wife-Chapter 348 - 344
Although Ace was cold and unfriendly, he always treated his elders with respect and patience, especially his grandfather who doted on him ever since he was a kid.
"Brothers my foot! You’re a man and she’s a woman. If you live together for a prolonged period of time, even if you’re innocent, people would talk. That’s why Old Man Crawford is so anxious. He’s asking me for an explanation every day."
Grandpa Timothy was anxious too. Years had gone by, but his grandson would not reunite with Joanna nor start a new relationship. Did he want to remain single his whole life?
Then the Moran family line would end with him!
"I don’t have any other explanation except that we’re brothers. If we had feelings for each other, we would have gotten together a long time ago. I believe Seraphina has no special feelings for me either, so stop speculating."
Ace spoke calmly. He was a bit tired, so he wanted to take a shower and get a good night’s sleep.
His gaze suddenly fell on the anime merchandise on the desk. His thick eyebrows furrowed slightly.
He keenly noticed that Luffy’s position had shifted. Someone had moved him.
It could not have been the servants.
His room was strictly off limits to the servants. He did not need the servants to clean his room for him. He would clean it himself regularly.
It could not have been his grandfather either.
The old man hated Ace’s room. He would always make a fuss whenever he came in here and would try to leave as soon as possible. He said the room was so childish that it gave him a headache.
It could not have been his parents either.
Those two had left him completely to his own devices ever since he "came back from the dead" and regained control of the Moran Group. They were currently on vacation in Europe. There was no way they would come into his room.
So, who would dare to... break into the Moran Residence and more importantly, break into his room?
The security of the Moran Residence had always been tight. Ordinary burglars would not be able to break in at all, nor would they have the courage.
Therefore, Ace concluded that the intruder was not here to steal money.
Could it be an assassination?!
His expression suddenly became serious.
"Grandpa, it’s getting late. You should go to bed."
Ace planned to send the old man away first, then conduct a thorough investigation. If there really was someone hiding in his room, at least it would not frighten the old man.
"No, I can’t sleep until your problem is solved."
Grandpa Timothy sat down on the sofa and continued to pressure Ace. "You have two options... One, remarry Joanna. Two, marry Seraphina. You’re almost thirty now, so you can’t stay single anymore. I need a great grandson!"
"In my opinion, Joanna is still the best wife for you. Even though she’s way out of your league, you can still pursue her back if you work hard. Seraphina is a good lass too. She visits me often. But she’s no match for Joanna. I’ve always regarded Joanna as my own granddaughter. I’ve been hoping for years that you two would get back together..."
Joanna, who was hiding under the bed, was moved to tears upon hearing what the old man said.
She was completely unaware that Ace had already discovered her from the reflection in the glass.
Joanna did not know that the glass of the cabinet containing the various LEGO models had a special surface. It was not reflective from the front, but it was reflective from the side.
Coincidentally, Ace happened to be standing to the side of the glass cabinet. He only had to lower his gaze slightly to see Joanna, who was hiding under the bed.
After discovering that the person hiding in his room was not an assassin but was just Joanna, Ace suddenly did not feel tired anymore. As if he had been injected with stimulants, he suddenly felt really energetic. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
His thin lips unconsciously curled into a smile.
Unless he was mistaken, she must be here to steal the Rainbow Glaze. What a crude solution she came up with!
Ace gently raised his thick eyebrows, determined to play a trick on her.
He sat on the sofa and crossed his legs, sitting elegantly.
He rubbed his forehead with his long fingers and shook his head helplessly. He started complaining to Grandpa Timothy, "Grandpa, you have no idea. I’ve tried to salvage this relationship before, but you don’t know Joanna. She’s not the gentle and obedient woman that you think she is. The real her is a tigress. She bullies me a lot. My heart has long shattered into pieces..."
Joanna: "..."
"What? Really?"
Grandpa Timothy took his words seriously. His aged face turned grave. "She bullies you?"
Ace nodded, his eyes even turning slightly bloodshot as he exclaimed, "She deceived all of you. When we’re alone, she would hit me and curse at me whenever she felt like it. She would even splash wine or coffee at my face. However, I’m a forgiving person and I don’t want to damage her image in your heart, so I chose to endure all this silently."
"What? Splash wine and coffee at your face? I find that hard to believe."
Grandpa Timothy frowned and looked skeptical.
He did not believe that Joanna, who was always as gentle as a rabbit in front of him, would splash wine and coffee on someone’s face.
"Grandpa, you know I never lie. If you don’t believe me, you can ask her yourself. Call her right now."
Ace suggested.
Call?!
Joanna’s heart sank. She quickly pressed her phone’s power button with her thumb to turn it off.
If Grandpa Timothy called her right now and found her lying under his grandson’s bed, she would be so embarrassed that she would kill herself!
However, her phone decided to lag at that crucial moment. No matter how long or how hard she pressed the power button, there was no reaction. It would not turn off the phone nor turn on the screen.
"Do you want me to call her and ask? If you want, I’ll call her right now."
Ace took out his phone and asked Grandpa Timothy seriously.
"I don’t believe you. Call her."
Grandpa Timothy did believe that his docile granddaughter-in-law may have a strong and aggressive side to her. She was General Pierce’s granddaughter after all. She could not be that meek. It was in her blood.
But he would never believe that she would splash coffee and wine on his grandson’s face.
She loved his grandson too much to do that!
"Okay, I’ll call her."
Ace slowly searched his contact list for Joanna’s number.
Joanna was so anxious that her forehead was covered in sweat. She debated whether she should crawl out from under the bed to turn herself in.
"Actually, forget it..."
Ace suddenly said.
