The Ugly Duckling Of The Tiger Tribe-Chapter 111: I’ve never gone that fast before
We made our way out for the tribe, and as we did so, the watch guards looked at us with an anxious gaze.
They were mostly looking at Damar, who did not give them the time of day, and Fenric, who walked by my side without even sparing them a glance.
I, on the other hand, glanced.
I saw how they whispered and how they held their spears, crafted with a stick and a sharp stone tied at the end, on alert.
What did they think they could do with that if Damar decided to attack them?
How pathetic.
"Arinya, are you sure you don’t want to do it just once?" Fenric asked as we walked deeper into the forest.
"I already said it, Fenric," I said and then glanced at Damar. "Though it’s fun, we shouldn’t overdo it."
"So you believe mating is fun too, huh?"
I blushed.
What should I say then? That it’s exciting and refreshing? That it feels good and makes my body crave even more? I can only say it’s fun so as not to put more ideas into his head.
"Ari," Damar called and I looked up at him. "Do you want me to carry you?"
"Huh? All of a sudden?"
He didn’t even wait for my response and lifted me off my feet, looking blankly at Fenric.
"Let’s ditch the horny cub." He said and immediately sped away, moving at a speed I didn’t even know was possible.
"Hey!" Fenric did not fall behind.
He knew he wouldn’t be able to catch up with his human form, so he quietly unwrapped his skirt and transformed, biting down on his skirt and chasing after us, growling heavily.
The birds fluttered over the night sky in fear at his growl and me... I just enjoyed the cool breeze that came with Damar’s speed.
It was just like how Fenric carried me earlier but this was faster.
Since Damar held me firmly to his body, I didn’t have anything to worry about, but after a while, I began to feel dizzy.
I’ve never gone that fast before, and he was rocking too much, so the food in my belly began to... Shurn.
"D-Damar," I called, and he looked down at me, clutching at my belly and covering my mouth.
He immediately stopped, worried that he had caused something to happen to me.
As soon as he stopped, I swallowed back the gag.
Maybe it’s because it’s my second time, but it was far more enduring this time and I didn’t throw up.
"That... It was incredible but... Let’s not overdo it." I said and Fenric came in, his large tiger frame pushing past the thick trees. As soon as he saw we had stopped, he kicked the brakes, his paws scraping the ground hard as he needed to stop just before we hit each other.
Only an inch... He stopped only an inch in front of us, with Damar protecting me with his body.
And as soon as he stopped, the wind he had raced past came rushing in, fluttering heavily and blowing my hair roughly.
Fenric transformed back, smiling awkwardly.
"Oops, I overdid it."
Clearly.
There were twigs and leaves on my head.
Damar and Fenric began to help me take them out but as soon as I looked up, I stifled a laugh. I wasn’t the only one with twigs and leaves on their head.
Damar had officially become a reindeer with two wooden horns sticking out of the sides of his body.
I laughed and Fenric looked, laughing as well.
"I think being a reindeer would fit you more." He said and Damar twisted his lips, not knowing what we’re were laughing at.
"Come down, silly," I said, beckoning him to lower his head.
As soon as he did, I helped him take out the twigs and leaves.
Seeing the twigs, he blushed.
Who knew he could be embarrassed?
Fenric laughed as much as he could while Damar glared at him.
"Now, now, it’s over so no more laughs." I said and turned around. "More importantly, we’re here."
Just past the trees was the lake.
Our secret spot, if I may.
I was finally able to take a bath, feeling extremely refreshed, but as I rubbed my arms with my palms, I began to feel dissatisfied.
If only I could get soap.
Hm, making soap isn’t very difficult but it’s the materials that are needed that’s the problem.
I’ll need oil, preferably used one, and the charcoal. I can get charcoal anytime. It’s the oil that poses an issue.
I wish I knew where to get oil from, I would try adding some oil to the grill while grilling the meat. It’s going to be extra delicious.
I found myself salivating but shook my head.
Once again, I was fantasizing about a meal I couldn’t get yet, which was torturous.
They say it’s easy to get oil from pig fat. So, if I can just find a tribe that rears pigs... I paused for a minute and then sighed.
I can’t keep my hopes up that there’s such a thing as animal husbandry in a beastworld.
Who would think to rear animals when they could just eat them at once?
And if there was a clan lie that, I doubt they would be anywhere near here, since word would have spread if that were the case, and my dumb tribe would’ve been able to overcome countless winters by living off their livestock.
But I can’t be discouraged.
One day, we will definitely reach the ends of this world, and we shall find so many more tribes with more advanced tools.
Just like how the snow tiger tribe is more advanced than our tribe right now, there should be one that is more advanced than the snow tiger tribe.
For example, the tribe that is protected by the mermaids. The beastmen with horns and soft backs... Hm, I wonder if they are sheep.
I was dwelling on this when Fenric called out,
"Arinya, can we come in now?"
"No, stay there!" I yelled back and then sank deeper into the water, leaving only my head out.
Being alone in the water was for my own good.
