The Tyrant Is A Little Bit Kind-Chapter 84: Something Happens in the Shadows
Chapter 84: Something Happens in the Shadows
(Third Person POV)
Year 2032, September 10, according to the Global Calendar.
In the Empire of Tirshtain, in the Imperial Capital.
Inside the imperial palace located at the heart of the capital.
Four figures were gathered in the emperor’s office, and the atmosphere around them felt tense.
"Well then, what are you going to do about this, Your Majesty?"
A man with white hair and blue eyes dropped the paper he was holding onto the desk and turned his gaze toward the black-haired boy seated in front of him.
"Since this is a summit for all empires, of course I will attend."
The black-haired boy had his arms crossed over his chest and his eyes closed, lost in thought.
"Why are you both acting like this? It’s just a meeting to discuss recent events in each empire. I don’t see any reason to worry."
The red-haired girl with golden eyes shrugged indifferently, clearly unbothered by the upcoming meeting.
"This summit is being held right after Diana’s coronation. There must be something going on behind the scenes, Riana. We need to be cautious."
"And the one organizing the summit is the Court itself. With all the world leaders in the same place, that alone is cause for concern."
The black-haired boy nodded and opened his eyes, revealing blood-red irises.
"It seems we’ll have to postpone our attack on the Court for now. We should wait and see what happens at the summit first."
The one who had been silent until now— a girl with black hair and red eyes standing right behind the boy—finally spoke.
"I agree with Elena. Let’s wait and observe, then act accordingly."
Orlax nodded and leaned back in his chair.
"We’ve lived over twenty years of peace without wars or conflict. And now all these problems are happening one after another. It’s strange."
Armanthor spoke, his hand on his chin, pondering the recent events that had shaken the empire.
"Peace? What peace are you talking about? The south has been suffering for years, and no one cared. The imperial family was completely corrupt, including the emperor himself who was nothing more than a womanizer. What peace are you referring to?"
Orlax mocked Armanthor with a slight smirk.
"That’s exactly the problem. We’ve lived through twenty years of false peace—like someone was manipulating everything behind the scenes. And then you appeared... and everything started to unravel. Doesn’t that seem suspicious?"
"Oh ho? Are you saying I’m the cause of all this?"
He glared sharply at Armanthor, who returned his gaze with a mysterious look.
"No, you misunderstood me. What I’m saying is that something is definitely happening, and we don’t know what it is. Just look at the current state of the world."
Armanthor stood up, grabbed the tablet from Orlax’s desk, and pulled up the map.
"Our empire is on the verge of war with the Court, which would make us enemies of the entire world. The Western Empire has become our ally, and they too will be seen as enemies."
"The Eastern Empire remains neutral, which will leave it isolated and at its weakest. Meanwhile, the Central and Southern Empires will be drawn into war against us, plunging the entire continent into chaos."
Armanthor took a sip of water to wet his throat before zooming in on the Central Continent.
"All the princes of the Central Continent have died, leaving only the least talented one behind. And the current emperor only has a few days left to live. That means the continent will soon fall into disarray."
"As for the Southern Continent, it houses two empires that absolutely hate each other. War could break out at any moment. And with the head of the Mage Tower—who is basically the emperor of one of the empires—falling into a coma, the other empire is likely planning to attack and take advantage of the opportunity."
Once Armanthor finished speaking, he sat back down and let everyone absorb the weight of his words.
"You’re right. This is all very suspicious—like someone is stirring up trouble behind the scenes to distract us from their true objective."
Orlax sighed and rubbed his temples, feeling a headache coming on.
’None of this happened in the game... I don’t know what’s going on anymore. It’s strange. I feel like a ship adrift at sea, unsure of where I’m headed.’
He raised his head and observed everyone’s expressions, his eyes landing on Riana, whose demeanor seemed unusual.
"Riana, you seem unusually quiet. Is something wrong?"
"Oh—no, no! Nothing’s wrong! I was just thinking about everything you all said. Hahaha..."
Riana waved her hands quickly and forced a laugh, which only made her look more suspicious.
"Hmmm, you seem suspicious."
She swallowed nervously under the intense gaze aimed her way.
"Sigh... Anyway, if any of you learn anything new, inform me. You may leave now."
As soon as Orlax said that, Riana quickly stood up and left the room.
"She’s definitely hiding something from us."
Armanthor commented after observing her very obvious reaction.
"Yes. I’ll talk to her later."
Armanthor nodded and exited the office, leaving only two people behind.
"What do you think, Elena?" ƒrēenovelkiss.com
He turned to look at the black-haired girl who had remained silent for most of the meeting.
"Hmmm... Maybe the White One and his allies are involved in these recent disturbances."
"Maybe... or maybe someone else is manipulating them. Who knows?"
Orlax shrugged, closed his eyes, and leaned back to rest his head a little.
"Your right eye turned red too. How did that happen?"
Elena changed the subject upon noticing his eye had returned to its original color.
"I’m not sure myself. I woke up this morning and saw it had changed back. It’s strange."
He touched his right eye, thinking about what happened the day before.
’Maybe it’s due to my mana. It affects the color of my eyes. Elena also has red mana and red eyes.’
He opened his right eye and looked at the red particles surrounding Elena—and the white ones gathering near her heart.
’But Alice has different colored mana, and yet her eyes are blue. That’s strange too...’
He shook his head and pushed the thoughts away, then stood up.
"The World Leaders’ Summit is in three weeks. Make sure you’re free by then."
"Understood."
Orlax nodded and left the office, heading to his room.
When he entered, he saw a brown-haired girl with honey-colored eyes sitting on the sofa with a blue-haired child in her lap.
As soon as she noticed him enter, she stood up and gently placed the child aside, then bowed respectfully.
"Your Majesty."
"Lira, welcome."
Orlax sat on the couch and gestured for Lira to sit as well.
Since everyone was busy lately, the responsibility of caring for Sera had returned to Lira.
"How is your mother doing, Lira?"
Orlax picked up Sera and placed her on his lap, turning to speak with Lira, who sat calmly nearby.
"She’s doing much better now, Your Majesty. She also sends her deepest thanks for all your help."
Lira responded with a smile as she remembered her mother.
"That’s good. You may go now. I’ll stay here with Sera."
"Excuse me then."
Lira gave a polite bow and left the room, closing the door behind her.
"Well now, little one... how are you?"
Orlax gently patted Sera’s hair while looking into her eyes.
"I’m okay."
Sera answered quietly—unlike her usual cheerful self—causing Orlax to frown slightly.
"What’s wrong, Sera? Is something bothering you?"
She lowered her head without answering, and his concern deepened.
"Well... you don’t play with me anymore or spend time with me. And Mom and Sis don’t play with me either..."
Tears began to well up in her eyes, and Orlax felt a deep ache in his chest as he looked at her sad face.
"I’m sorry, Sera. I’ve just been really busy. But once I finish my work, I promise I’ll spend lots of time with you, okay?"
He hugged her gently and ran his hand over her head, comforting her with warmth.
"Do you really promise?"
Sera pulled away and looked up at him with her innocent eyes, softening his heart.
"Of course. I’m Orlax Tirshtain. I never break a promise."
"Okay! I won’t cry anymore. I’ll wait patiently. I’m Sera Tirshtain—I promise."
She placed her hand on her chest and tried to act more grown-up, which made a small smile appear on his face.
"All right, all right."
Tring! Tring!
Suddenly, his phone started ringing in his pocket.
He pulled it out and saw the caller was Alex.
He answered the call and placed the phone to his ear.
"Your Majesty, I found a suitable place as you requested. Would you like to visit it now so I can inform them?"
"Yes. I’m coming right away."
After ending the call, he turned to Sera, who looked at him curiously.
"How about this—do you want to come with me somewhere now?"
"Let’s go! Let’s go!"
Sera jumped off his lap and rushed to the door, full of excitement.
"okay, little princess. Let’s go."
He took her hand and walked with her out of the palace, heading to the location Alex had sent him by car.
They arrived in the middle of the city and stopped in front of a small store.
Alex was standing in front of it and greeted them as soon as they got out of the car.
"Your Majesty, welcome."
"Is everything ready, Alex?"
"Of course. Please, follow me inside."
Orlax nodded and followed Alex into the shop.
Inside, several people stood in neat rows, waiting to greet him.
And what was inside revealed what this shop truly was.
It was a jewelry store, and Orlax had come here today because he wanted to pick out a special gift.
"Welcome, Your Majesty. It is an honor to receive you in our humble store today."
A man in a formal suit stepped forward from among the gathered people and bowed respectfully.
The others followed suit and greeted him in the same respectful manner.
"Welcome, Your Majesty."
