the two-faced Adopted Girl Who Melted CEO's Ice-Cold Heart-Chapter 800: No Bare Feet on the Floor Next Time
Ignatius Leclair leaned against the bedroom door, his almond-shaped eyes arching upward as he let out a deep, sensual chuckle. "Even though your husband gave up his inheritance, he still has a yacht under his name that can be lent to his wife for her filmmaking. A husband’s unconditional support for his wife’s career is a must."
Delphine, with her brows knitted in thought, immediately perked up upon hearing about the yacht. She sprang to her feet without even putting on slippers, her bare feet stepping on the carpet as she grabbed his arm excitedly, her dark, bright eyes shining. "Really?" she asked.
Ignatius nodded. Even if there wasn’t a yacht, he would have purchased an ultra-luxurious one specifically for his wife’s movie.
The man’s long lashes fell as his gaze lowered to her ten delicate and rosy toes. A shadow flitted through his eyes as he reached out to scoop her up in his arms, murmuring in a low voice, "Next time, don’t get out of bed barefoot."
Wasn’t this an invitation for him? Yet lately, he couldn’t exactly get too close to her.
"What kind of yacht is it? Can you show me a picture? The filming style for this movie leans more retro, plus it’s a suspense film, so the visuals will have a vintage aesthetic. It’d be best for the yacht to have a dramatic resonance with the overall vibe of the movie." As Delphine talked excitedly about the yacht, she didn’t care at all about him carrying her back to bed, or her bare feet. Her hands clutched him, visibly animated.
Ignatius gave a faint nod. In truth, he had already gone through her new movie’s script in detail and, combining it with the filming style of her earlier projects, had a rough grasp of her signature approach. The yacht he had chosen was a luxurious white one, perfectly in line with the movie’s needs, and its interior design wasn’t ostentatious but rather leaned heavily into a retro aesthetic.
His wife had always had impeccable taste. As her husband, how could he let her down?
Ignatius noticed that recently she had started smiling, getting excited, and even discussing her scripts with him, no longer exhibiting the cold, resistant silence she used to show toward him. His heart felt as though it was drenched in honey, sweetness threatening to overwhelm him. He leaned down and pressed a kiss to her soft pink lips, swallowing the words she was saying, momentarily quieting her.
Caught off guard, Delphine was kissed, and her cheeks turned a faint shade of red. The man often disarmed her without doing much, his half-lidded, dark almond eyes suffused with mystery. Now, under the current circumstances, she was even more helpless.
Having achieved his goal, Ignatius didn’t dare linger. He was afraid he wouldn’t be able to control himself, and that things would spiral out of hand. Stepping back, he turned toward the bathroom, retrieved a warm towel, and came back to gently wipe her delicate feet, his eyes dark with suppressed emotion.
Every man has countless thoughts, especially when facing the woman he loves, wishing he could turn all those thoughts into tangible acts. Ignatius was no exception. Yet his possessiveness was too strong, causing him to suppress many overly obsessive impulses. He feared scaring his little Delphine.
He believed that only when Delphine wasn’t so restrained and could fully open her heart to him would it be the right time for her to truly understand him.
In truth, Mr. Leclair felt he was perpetually in an unsatisfied, "half-fed" state. He was still a long way from a full feast.
Delphine’s toes curled slightly from the ticklish sensation of his touch, and she pulled her foot back. With a small smile, she reached out and poked him, her voice soft: "How about the pictures?" 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
It was only then that Ignatius extended a hand to retrieve his phone. He swiped through a few photos for her and said in his deep voice, "For the yacht, you can ask Maximilian. The crew and captain who were originally aboard are still there, so you and your team can directly board for filming. But remember, the open sea is never as safe as land. You must come back every day—no staying overnight on the yacht."
